Yessir...
I am trying to compile a movie playlist for October already.
Nice Avatar, btw. I think White Zombie will make the cut.
Yeah!! Bring on H-2K11! I really am looking forward to Halloween, but I get nervous when I think about Summer ending. I LOVE hot weather, and I get all mopey when it starts to get chilly outside. Halloween is the reward we get for saying goodbye to Summer :)
I already have some new stuff- 4 new Bluckys, the Zombie of MonteClaire Moors, creepy cloth from the One Dollar Tree, and a new lighted pumpkin from Big Lots. Also, I got some battery operated paper lanterns from Oriental Trading and some from Pier One.
So, now the prop making needs to kick into gear! My new son-in-law just gave me 4 really thick beaded styrofoam pieces that I intend on carving into a "High Five Ghost", (I will mess up alot, so I will probably need all 4 pieces), from Adventure Time. And My husband "claims" he will make me some new stuff out of scrap wood after I showed him Zombiehorror's coffin pictures. :)
that is really cool charp, i would love to see them when your done.
Does dollar tree and big lots have their halloween stuff out already?

We found creepy cloth, some plastic severed arms and feet, and some tablecloths and party stuff. They have some little rubber skeletons and the cardboard hanging decorations they had last year. I was just glad to only pay $1 for creepy cloth. That stuff is like $3.99 at some stores!
I hope my High Five Ghost comes out good. My grandson is counting on it :)

Good Luck
I am very excited that Hallowe'en will soon be here.
Oh yeah, this ol' ape is getting fired up already. Last year at this time I was stuck on the living room floor with a broken back! Still walking like a mixture of Quasimodo, Ygor & Frankenstein, but am way better than a year ago. I'm hoping to make some big ol' lifesize plywood cut-outs. Don't want to overdue it so I'm keeping it to 3 monsters. An 8' Frankenstein, 7' Dracula and a 9' Bigfoot. Been planning these for years, but had some sort of injury every year since '08!
UP- Those plywood cut outs sound fantastic!! I am always envious of the Peanuts characters, I always see at Christmas, that people make out of plywood! I bet yours will be top notch with all your artistic ability! That's my problem, I could cut out the shape....but the paint job would be horrible. hahaha!!
Be careful!! Plywood is pretty heavy! Be sure to ask one of your young'ens to help you with the lifting :) Those were dark times, on the floor in pain. This year you keep that back nice and warm and supported! ( Oh No, I've become the Back Police!) You know I worry about you....
I can't wait to hear about your projects UP!
Thanks, Char - oh, I've definitely recruited my daughter's boyfriend to do the heavy/awkward stuff, ;). They just moved back here to Lafayette and have been staying with us (with their 4 cats!). They're getting an apartment though and they both have found jobs already! I hope it all works out - them, my back, the monsters, etc.

That's been my usual plan, too.... except I've been disappointed in the quality and quantity.
I was ready for Halloween in July! The months of October, November and December are my favorite time of the year. I don't do much for Halloween anymore but I still love the holiday.
I want to decorate right now, sooo in the mood for Halloween!!
My local grocery store has a ton of American Greetings (tm) Halloween cards out on display.
Thanks for the reminder! I'd better start working on making this a fun October right away. So far the year has been rather disappointing so let's hear it for Halloween and October! Huzzah!
Lessee....move my horror Netflix movies up the waiting list and add a few more, get my personal monster movies out and ready to watch, work on my loverly decorative funeral wreath, look for gothicy clothes, paint the 'lil dracula bust I found at the Dollar Store. Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
Maybe I'll dress as Wednesday this year. My hair is long enough for braids. Huzzah again!

That sounds like an awesome choice, and we at the UMA like pics.
Our household will be spending Halloween at Gatlinburg for the annual Halloween fest there again. Thousands of kids (and kids at heart) walking the streets in costumes, professional Haunted attractions, ghost walk, ect. This year taking a camera. From Oct. 1st till the 29th, me and Karen plan of watching almost continuous horror movies.

Anybody seen any halloween stuff in stores yet?
I'm more than ready for Halloween. I am hoping Wal Mart will have some Halloween stuff out when I go September 1st. Not only because I like looking at Halloween stuff, but because I owe my mom two big bags of Butterfinger candy bars for her birthday. She loves the things. Here's hoping the Halloween candy will be out.
I always get excited around the Fall

Lowes, Garden Ridge, Michaels, Dollar Tree/Deals all have Halloween stuff out and it shouldn't be to long now that school has started for all the department sotres to start stocking them shelves with Halloween goodies!!! I need to hit the workshop pretty hard here soon and finish my two coffins, I also want to strengthen/tinker with my older toe pincher that is showing its age plus I want to cut about two inches off my cemetary columns. I also saw some really cool door knockers at Dollar Tree and was thinking about getting 1 to attach to each of my columns.
I haven't been to Lowe's yet. I guess I should go over there and take a look-see. I also need to go over to the Dollar Tree and buy more black creepy cloth because my grandson has decided that we should make dementors (from Harry Potter) and hang them around the front of the house! I guess I'll hot glue black cloth to the top half of a Blucky skeleton and shred the bottom material. That's all I can come up with. Whew....these kids and their grandiose ideas! :)

I love HALLOWE'EN. Here's a little something......everyday
IS Hallowe'en at my house.
mars- I Love that song!! My grandson only knows the AFI version, but he sings it well! HALLO-WEEEEEN, HALLOWEEEEN- I remember Halloween! :)
But he also told me when he was a wee lad of 4, that the Misfits version of Monster Mash is the "original". But I set him straight with a History lesson on Bobby Boris Pickett!
I am always excited for Halloween! All year long! When the end of summer arrives and the Fall starts I get totally upside down insane for the Halloween season! top full of non-stop monster movie watching and browsing stores for the various Halloween stuff which I spend way to much money on!
I'm training for Halloween by steadily increasing my candy consumption each day.
;)
I'm also monitoring the progress of the neighbourhood's pumpkin patch.

I have completed phase one of my building a lifesize Haunted Mansion Bride project. I am trying to do it without spending $ and so far I'm in 49 cents for paint. I have a wig my daughter used last year for her Alice in Wonderland costume, and old clothes and a dress form. Although I possess no artistic ability, I am pleased with the way she's coming out. I cannot wait for it to get here! I want to decorate now!
Hallowe'en is almost here! Department stores are now starting to put out decorations. Whoop!
Haven't seen a whole lot in department stores just yet but I noticed the $1 section at Target had a few items; One of which was these~
I only bought the skeleton ones first since I really didn't know what to expect from the product, they come in a 2 pack for $1 (2 1/2" tall). The consistency is pretty much like it says, putty and the figures inside are made of hard plastic.
Went back to Target and got the other ones, these are all $1 each.....Why is the vampire in purple!?!? Wouldn't red make more sense?! Anyway the petri dish is 3" and the test tube is 3 3/4".
Here's Sam playing with the eyeball~
(http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh10/zombiehorror01/DSCN4227.jpg)
I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch or what but the stuff in the test tube is more like "slime" though it isn't quite as slimey and is much more workable! The other ones are more like putty/clay that you can cut up and make shapes out of!
I highly recommend this stuff to anyone with kids/grandkids or who just wants something sitting at their desk to mess around with!

zombiehorror- This is the kind of stuff we live for! My grandson would rather play with goop, slime, gak, ooze, etc. than anything in the world. And the price is right! Gotta get some too :) We made our own slime a few years ago for my son's 28th birthday. We made him wear a Home Depot zip-up disposable painter's jumpsuit and we slimed him good!

Brings back memories of watching 'You Can't Do That On Television' , i miss that slime filled show.
ok, Scatter- I will post the picture of my Haunted Mansion doll, first.
Then I'll post my homemade Halloween prop. Please remember that I am NOT an artist and I made this prop with things I had around the house. It's so much more fun when you don't spend any $. I did buy some cheap craft paint, but that's all so far :) I still need to fix her arms and add a battery operated candle for her to hold. So- doll, followed by my version (which is not an exact match), that will be outside on my porch on Halloween :)

Excellent Attic Bride Charp, but you should have taken the photo from outside your full sized doombuggy you built so we could see it as well....LOL!
I'd say that's a big yes?
Char, she is beautiful. Well done, great piece of work. All Brides should have a beautiful blue deathly palour. :)
thanks, friends! I used big bubble wrap in her sleeves so I can shape her arms by popping bubbles :) and shes gonna be lit up from underneath, like I said......she's made from stuff I found around the house. The kids around my neighborhood will get a kick out of her on Halloween :)

I'm wondering about tossing in some little moneter toys with the candy this year, like those rubber monster finger puppets. But what's not considered a choking hazard???
Ooooh, interesting observation Pauspy. I guess I never thought about that when I was putting those little black plastic spiders in the treat sacks. Hmmmmmm, I think those creepy plastic fingers are long enough, but they fit inside a child's mouth, so not good. They say the rule of thumb is if it fits inside a bathroom tissue roll, then it's a choking hazard, so that means all pencil toppers, finger puppets, & plastic spiders are bad news. I usually order a bunch of small toys for my Halloween party, but all the parents are present, so they can take out the dangerous stuff. I know at the Oriental Trading Company site they have a lot of ideas, so I guess we should get out our tissue rolls and start looking. But seriously, whatever I have left over from my party, I throw into the TOT bags! I will be a lot more careful this year. You would think I would know better since I work with kids under 6! :)
Two months and a wake up...
Well here at Monster Cafe Saltillo we have a new sign and new lights around the building. Halloween is our biggest day of the year. I hope this October is very prosperous! Daddy needs a new couch.
Who isn't pumped? Hell yeah I'm ready!

I'm definitely psyched. Halloween Planet and Halloween Spirit are supposed to open after Labor Day weekend. I always love going in those stores.
So far, no Hallowe'en stores open yet. But soon, very soon.
I couldn't wait, and I bought some stuff online :) Including s boys size M Anakin costume for my grandson! He's so excited this year!
As am I!!!!!
I started thinking about planning this year's party (not sure whether to go Friday or Saturday). But I miss when my phone number was 377-9193, 'cause I was able to list my phone number on the invites as FRankenstein 7-9193 or DRacula 7-9193.

Didn't make it today since the kids and I were busy getting tested for Strep throat; Yeah we're positive!! Maybe tomorrow depending on how we feel will venture back out, the girls have been really amped to visit the halloween stores.

Hep, I bought my grandson a little black cat candy dispenser at Target yesterday, that looks a little like you! Was at Michaels the other day and found more of the Putty that I had previously found at Target. The Putty at Michaels are all in coffins with a plasitc spider, the coffin is slightly larger than the ones at Target and they are a buck a piece. Also Michaels as several different colors, I think they were; pink, orange, green, purple and blue!

This weekend my Wife and I spent time Hallowe'en shopping. Michael's, pretty good on the Hallowe'en decor. Walmart, a total dud. Spirits, didn't have anything cool( except the animatronic: Fankenstein's Monster and Regan from the Exorcist. I hope more Hallowe'en costume stores open soon. :o
Found some surprisingly good stuff at 99 Cents Only and Dollar Tree--nice half-skeletons (small but not too small), tombstones, various ghouls and paper decorations. I am taking some of the skeleton figures and adding wire articulation and ghoulish skin for that EXTRA creepy "yarrrrrgh!" look. That and some lighting and sound effects will make an interesting show...

We did the same thing this past weekend; Halloween City looked like it was all leftovers from last year...though I still want one of their massive cauldrons, it's hard to find a really nice cauldron anywhere and they have a super huge one!
Spirit Halloween had a lot of stuff I would love to have but the price is not right for my budget even with the 20% off coupon!
Target as usual had a few interesting items (including the return of real Creepy Cloth, the past few years everywhere has had more netting like material that I am not impressed with) but I usually hit them up after Halloween and grab whatever clearance item I can!
Walgreens, I can always find a few odds and ends at Walgreens! 'Nother one that is a Halloween clearance stop as well!
Wal-mart has yet to put out anything besides Halloween candy and fall/autumn decorations!?!? WTF Wal-mart! I usually buy a few things from them leading up to Halloween and then hit them up after Halloween.
I also have a $40 cash rebate at a place called Menards that usually has a few nice Halloween items but I won't get to go there until I visit the in-laws (probably this weekend). I really, really want to get a 1000w fogger but as usual don't know if it'll happen this year but if they have them that $40 credit will come in handy....Muh ha hah!!

The Target i went into Saturday had the space set up, but wasn't stocked yet. I liked the in-store decorations this year--large, semi-spooky silhouettes.

Here in Missouri I spotted; Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Boo Berry all hanging out at
Shop N Save!! Posted about it here http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=11459.0 (http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=11459.0) Target usually carries these but as of yet no such luck!
Thanks, ZH! We don't have that store, and I checked Target- but at least I know it's out there! My sweet sweet Count and I will soon be reunited!
yes......I have problems :) The weird thing is, I NEVER crave anything except that cereal! There's something so satisfying about that first crisp chocolaty bowl on an Autumn day.
Charpy I saw a big display of Frankenberry and Chocula yesterday at Walgreen's of all places.
Thanks packy! There are 2 Walgreens within 5 miles of my house, so I will check them both :) Woohoo!!! They also sell milk at Walgreens, which I will need to complete my feast, so things are looking up for me!
Right on! You could probably get a plastic bowl and spoon and sit right down in the aisle! Good luck!

I'm waiting patiently for my Chocula to show up! If anyone sees any in the store, please post a detailed report :) I will drive to another state to get my first bowl of the precious! I love Count Chocula more than Thanksgiving turkey!
Waiting patiently for my sweet scruncious FRANKENBERRY to show up at Target again this year. Last year I bought 13 boxes so I could enjoy it awhile.
I'm still totally pumped-up for Hallowe'en. I went in to Walmart again, and it seems the Hallowe'en aisles are very condensed this year. I will have to check out Target. Hopefully, Target reigns surpreme in the Halowe'en department?
mars- I noticed the same trend. I went to Walmart last night to buy an Exacto knife and a Star Wars Lego dvd, and I wandered over to the scant 2 aisles of Halloween stuff. There were very few costumes and accessories. Most of the aisle was filled with plastic pumpkin pails and TOT bags- FRAIL! I have been to 3 different Targets in the last 2 weeks and I LOVE the signage they have hanging from the ceiling! It's really charming- silhouettes of trees and owls! I bought a Star Wars costume for my grandson and some light up jack o'lanterns and some party invitations. My husband threw in some of those eyes that light up in your shrubs and of course.......candy. He always acts like it's only fresh when you get it in September- sheesh! I think the store keeps it at a proper temp. so it stays fresh throughout the season, but I just let him get what he wants- hahahaha!! {^...^}

. Maybe Walmart will add more? Hopefully.
It's still early though. I won't panic at the paltry selection for a couple of weeks yet.
Okay! Whoop! Finally, there are Hallowe'en stores popping up in Las Vegas.
EEEEK! Tomorrow is October 1st!!!! I need to get back in the game! My prop making has come to a grinding halt and I need a jump-start! :)
I hear ya, Char - I should'ave started on my giant plywood monsters by now! But, seeing as how I don't have a jigsaw, sander or paint sprayer, not to mention PLYWOOD, there's a good chance it won't happen! Drat!
oooooh! That's a lot of tools! I hate carrying plywood! There's no good way to grab it. We live about 5 miles from a Home Depot, but I would love to have plywood delivered to my house.......ahhhh what a daydream! That's probably how millionaires get their plywood :)
Well I don't have any wooden projects, but I had imagined that I would have done more prop work by now. What happened to September? It always betrays me!
Two more Halloween stores have opened in Vegas. Whoop!
Inspired by Wimpy's Zoo's Who from the 30's, I put together these color, cut out and fold sheets for kids this Halloween. Feel free to print them out for the kids in your life!

Oh yeah!! These are perfect for a certain 6 year old in my life! He is gonna love these- THANKS! I already have cardstock in the printer :)
Post picts when your done!
Will do! He comes over every Wed. & Thurs. after school, so I'll let him (my grandson) color and customize them. :)
In Wal-Mart they had Captain Crunch Halloween Crunch for $2 a box. It's supposed to make milk turn green. I'll have to try it. Price Chopper had the monster cereals. I picked up a box of Blue Berry.
Was in Target the other day and even though I had already checked their Halloween section before I decided to look it over again! Low and behold I see that they are stocking full size (a little over 5') glow in the dark skeletons for $40!! We didn't really have the cash to spare but it's friggin' GLOW IN THE DARK!!! I know I could just paint one of my other skeletons with some glow paint but in my opinion it just isn't the same as being cast in actual glowing plastic!!
Here's a picture of one that I found online~
(http://www.zomboscloset.com/.a/6a00d83451d04569e2015391ad84aa970b-500wi)
This thing is great, classic Halloween!! If you are interested in one get out there and get one ASAP before they are gone! The Target I was at only had 2 out, not sure if anymore were in stock.

Looks coolio. :D
(http://i55.tinypic.com/f38aw2.jpg) Inkfink- my grandson made the Cthulwho today :)
I was in Big Lots today and they had five foot glow in the dark skelatons for $16. I saw the $40 ones in Target and the main difference I could see is the ones in Target are put together and the Big Lots are in a bag and you have to assemble the skelaton. The two looked about the same to me.
They have all of the Monster cereals in Target for $2.65 a box.
BTW: I didn't see any great new DVD's in Bog Lots but there were a few new titles. I did get the G.I. Joe film for $5. Thye also had G.I. Joe Resolute animated DVD for $3. I had that already but it's very good.
Charp13... Your grandson did a fabulous job on Cthulwho! Hope he had fun with it! Looking forward to seeing his take on Mandible. He will need help cutting that one out!
Thanks Inkfink- I'll tell him! :) I did most of the fine-tuning on the scissor work. He cut them out and I cut the hard parts with the "good scissors". We love this kind of stuff!

Awesome!
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Am I ever getting pumped up! I have huge plans. I've even recruited The MAN to help with their implementation!
I'll have The MAN put on my Don Post mask in which he'll answer the door when those dastardly little trick or treating varmints come calling.
He'll then thrust the voodoo staff I just bought into their faces so that they freeze with horror:

And that's when I'll spring for their throats from the shadows with a hideous yeowl! They'll drop their bags of candy and flee in terror from the porch. I'll end up with so much candy, chips and bubble gum that I'll be rich! Heeeeee, heeeee, heeeeee!

Very inspirational pics- Hep & MDG! Now that I'm inspired.....time to start decorating my lair! I've put out most of my indoor decs. ( like mars- I have a lot of Halloween stuff out year round), but I am doing a paper lantern theme decor for this years party, and I still have to clean up all the fishing line, tape, tacks, etc. so I can see how it all looks. I will have out of state guests for 3 days before the party, so I have to prepare lots of stuff ahead of time. It's a lot of work, with all the cleaning, cooking, and tending to my guests- so when the actual party guests arrive....I am exhausted! But... it keeps ya' young :) And nobody else in my family or husband's family are willing to do this kind of stuff. :)
OUTDOORS....is a totally different story- we haven't done anything yet! This weekend is do or die. We have to set up everything.
I guess I need some more inspiration.

Seriously?!?! 16 dollar skeletons that look like the glow ones that Target sells for 40 bucks and all that is required is to put it together!?! Well I had my suspicions and they were unfortunately confirmed; The skeletons at Big Lots are Bluckys, unless the Big Lots you went to has a completely different 16 dollar skeleton! These have been around for decades and became known as Bluckys because they were a cheap version of a Bucky (Which is an actual anatomically correct plastic skeleton usually costing around $120 and up!). The BIG differences between Bluckys and any other decent skeleton is that Bluckys are very thin plastic, their porportions are way off, and they measure their "5ft" by including the length of the toes when pointed down and the little bit of extra space left by the connectors (I wanna say they're really around 4ft 2in?!?!) and in my opinion their skulls look like an aliens.
Here is a Blucky~
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41dRFTs0wAL._SL500_AA300_.jpg)
And here are the Target ($40) glow skeleton, measuring in at 5ft 2in; Along with a Garden Ridge ($50) skeleton, measuring 4ft 7in~
(http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/293558_2108657040497_1367707793_32015046_1466126364_n.jpg)
I don't actually own a Blucky so I can't do a side by side shot of one.
Here's a pic I found on the web of a skull comparison of a Blucky and an anatomical resin model~
(http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d1QAfSgvwUg/Tm5ZFa1UkII/AAAAAAAAAVs/oQ205yKCou4/s1600/yardsale002.jpg)
And here is another pic I found of a project (http://www.theghostess.com/bluckyPVC1.htm (http://www.theghostess.com/bluckyPVC1.htm)) that involves cutting open the ends of a Blucky and inserting PVC pipe so it can stand...not quite the 5ft as advertised!!
Both of these skeletons while being hollow like Bluckys are extremely hard plastic and their propotions/bone structure are fairly accurate! I really wish I could find one of these other skeletons for 16 bucks but the cheapest ones are at Walgreens for $30, which seem to be very similar to the Garden Ridge skeletons. I would have bought two of those for the one I bought at Garden Ridge earlier in the season but I didn't know about them at the time.
I know a lot of home huanters use Bluckys because they are cheap but I've never cared for them personally.
I always felt that Bluckys are good skeletons for outdoor graveyards or for the kids to hang up and customize. I had a few from Spirit and they lasted a few years in the outside weather , except for the arms and legs falling off when it was windy or rainy. And I replaced them this year for $19 each. I have bought the Bluckys from Big Lots in the past, but I just got these from Spirit because I was ordering some other stuff with a coupon. The nice jointed ones are reserved for indoors and Halloween night only. I only have a couple of them. I recently found a microphone stand that has been in a closet for 11 years (abandoned by my son), and I cut a few holes in a Blucky and he is standing sturdy with the help of the stand. I covered the stand bottom with creepy cloth and gave him a pirate hat and sword and I'm displaying him indoors next to my Jack Sparrow statue. He's pretty cool, and the kids can play with him without breaking.
We got our Creature From The Black Lagoon and Jeepers Creepers Creeper up on Sunday, and now we have to take them down tonight because we just got word a tropical storm might be hitting us tommorrow or Wednesday morning. This sucks!
Nooooooo!!! Bruzilla- I feel so bad for you! The storm is coming up to my neck of the woods on Tues. night, and we just put out a ton of decorations, but the good props are still in the house. Although none of my "good" props are as amazingly good as your Jeepers Creepers!! :) After the storm, we are supposed to get "frost"....which I despise.
It was 84 fantastic degrees here in NW Ga. yesterday and I was in heaven! Is it too much to ask for to have a calm Halloween? We always fear the dreaded "prop-buster storm" around here. Take care of your awesome monsters :)
It's coming, it's coming!

It's ...already....here!!!
Tombstones have been up for a few weeks now, put up the lighted path for the ToT'ers and 1 ghoul in one of the upstairs windows as well as boards on those windows and I switched out the porch light with my gargoyle sconce. I usually put the board up in the front window by now but the wife said it cuts off to much air when the windows are open so I won't do those this year until Halloween weekend. Spent the past few days redoing my fence columns, had to cut off about an inch from top and bottom as well as cut the side panels to match!
Here's a pic from the other night~

ZH- Your home looks beautifully haunted! That coffin fogger is something to be proud of! :) I like the looooooong walk the ToTers have to take before they get to the doorbell, The kids are probably wondering what's at the end of the sidewalk.
ZombieHorror,
It looks like you live in Haddonfield!
On a lighter note... I finally finished my High Five Ghost :) I used a block of white styro, a piece of pvc and a white glove. I feel like I have no more decorations in me.....
Our house is decorated a little lighter this year. We didn't put anything on our fence or near the road. We ran out of time and energy. But all in all, I'm happy with the stuff we have out. And in one week....the out of town guests start arriving for the party on the 29th...whew!
Is anyone else worn out already??

Just got through carving our pumpkin. I'll get pics of my halloween display in a bit. Also pics of my wife, myself and our daughter going to our company halloween party. We were the only "grown-ups" in costume.. Dissappointing.
Hep- you sure know how to strut!
Dr. Madd- I never used to dress up when I gave out Halloween candy, I would just wear a monster shirt (most of my tshirts are horror shirts anyway) But when you go to a Halloween party, I would think that most guests would be in a costume. Strange..... I always wear a costume at my party and I demand that the adults wear one too!! :

WOW! Did you dig those graves yourself?
Yes, and I'm going to need to dig many more very soon! My cousin Shaba just confirmed that he'll be coming in tomorrow night to celebrate Halloween with me!

We're going to spread terror far and wide until the wee hours tomorrow night! Heeeeee, heeeee, heeeee! And if that mangy mutt Foxhound brings that ugly cur Zoltan around again this year, well they're in for a very rude surprise indeed when they see Shaba! Here by the way is Zoltan (the pic flatters him I dare say):

Hep- I'm envious of your fancy friends! :) All my pals have dull coats, if any, and they sure don't know how to have Halloween fun like you do! I love your wonderful pictures, and I admire your shiny coat.

184 Days Till Halloween!!!
I rather enjoy the summer, instead of thinking about October....although I am pumped up for the walking dead again >:D
I'm alway counting down.
i have a special clock that counts the days till Halloween :D
reminds me of the one in Nightmare before Christmas ^v^
I live in one of those narrow-minded regions of the South where Halloween has been demonized by the churches as a celebration of Satan. So, not much to do here. The churches have Harvest or Fall Festivals. A few towns have Haunted Trails, Haunted Campgrounds, and such. We never get trick-or-treaters, though, so I just start throwing horror movies at random in the DVD player.
Travel 20 minutes East, into the heart of Billy Graham's world headquarters, though, and Charlotte knows how to party. All month long, Carowinds Amusement Park turns into Scarowinds. And there's a costume parade in Uptown.
Does it really ever end for any of us? All I have to do is look around my house, and I'm reminded about it every day.
JP
Because my mother's blind in one eye and wears reading glasses for the other, I always buy her those LARGE PRINT calendars. This year, I noticed that on October 31st, there's no mention of Halloween. Every other holiday, up to and including "Administrative Professionals Day" (formerly known as "Secretaries Day"), is clearly spelled out. But on Oct. 31st, all there is in the block is the silhouette of a pumpkin, not even a centimeter tall. The calendar is published by Joyfully Yours, a division of DaySpring Cards (www.dayspring.com (http://www.dayspring.com)). I emailed DaySpring to ask what their bias against Halloween was. I never received a reply. I'll be boycotting their products from now on. I encourage my fellow Halloween celibrators to do likewise.
Aww man... Count Z, when you said you lived in the south, I thought you might be closer to "my south". But I am no where near S.C., but you're still invited to Killa Rica, Ga. on Oct. 31st and you can celebrate your skin off with my family :) I have a countdown app on my phone that tells me how many days till the big day. I get a kick out of watching it dwindle down each year. Also, I'm pumped up for Walpurgisnacht! TOMORROW!!!! YAY!!

All I have to do is look at their website, and I can clearly see the bias they have against our holiday. ;)

This is why I can't stand the Republicans (conservatives) from the so-called Bible Belt. I believe in God, and attend church every Sunday, but what's wrong with having a little fun at Halloween. It's the only holiday I know of, that you can knock on a stranger's door, and not have them call the cops on you. These people need to chill out.
JP
I mean, really, you're publishing a calendar. The holiday has existed, in its current form, for around 250-300 years. Yet, you can't print the word "Halloween"? They can print "Yom Kipur," a holiday that, the last time I checked, ultra-conservative Christians don't celebrate, either.
Oh well, at least we don't live in the days when Halloween was outright banned in certain areas. Yet!

I think it's ignorant to say my post is ignorant. I was stating how I felt. You know, I as in me, myself and I. If you don't fall into that group, why do you feel the need to defend them? I'm half Irish, and I've heard all the comments over the years about how much the Irish drink. I could care less, people can say whatever they want to. I don't drink, so it doesn't pertain to me. If it makes you happier, I can't stand the liberal Democrats who don't celebrate Halloween either.

Speaking of Halloween.....I have a really spotty memory, but I remember last year someone on the site was running a haunted house attraction up in North Ga., U.S.. I couldn't go last year because we scheduled too many things (including a Halloween party with lots of out of town guests), but this year we would LOVE to go if the person or persons is still involved with it. Please post the details when the date gets closer. I love this kind of stuff!!!(even though I might pass out from fear).

I just got a cardboard zombie standee that I ordered from Shindigz! It's real cute and comical- so the kids can take their pictures with it. Also, I bought a few things from Big Lots and a small poseable skeleton from Michaels. EEEeeeee! I'm getting cookoo for Halloween!

Damn - I love this place!
Halloween is definitely my favorite time of year, and living in Maine is especially sublime when the season hits. I've noticed Halloween candy in the supermarkets already--a little early, to be sure. I mean, that's a 2 1/2 month window for candy shopping before the big day. Compare that to other holidays like Valentine's (about a month and a half), Easter (two months), and Christmas (about 1 3/4 months), and you realize that Halloween is THE candy holiday.
Actually, my favorite period of the entire Halloween season is when it first trickles in--perhaps I see some candy corn in a store or notice a tree that's started to turn, even though it's still late August. Also, in Maine at least, the last part of August takes on a really odd kind of atmosphere. The sun is more golden, for example. And there's the constant sound of crickets in the grass that inexplicably stop in mid-September.
For me, especially, the big night is also a very sad night. Once all is said and done, the kids have come, the candy (or most of it) is gone, I sit in my decorated living room and relive all my own childhood Halloweens. I have a lot of vintage Gurley candles (unlit), Beistle decorations (not repros), and assorted items like tin lithographed noise makers and plastic devil's heads. And, of course, the great animatronics--a crypt that opens up to reveal a green-eyed demon that flaps is wings, a skull that follows you with his eyes and says, "hey! Where you goin'? I see you!" All wonderful stuff. Then, at midnight, it's November 1st, and I feel the Halloween spirit just up and disappear into the night. When I finally hit the sack, I know a long winter is ahead of me, and I absolutely dread taking everything down and putting it away. Very sad.
Rod
yendor- You really have a way with Halloween words! I could see all that activity in my mind-thanks to your lovely description of Autumn in Maine :) I also feel a combination of sadness and relief when Nov. 1st comes along. We end up breaking down the decorations, fog machines, projectors and big props- from 10:00 PM- 12:00 AM that night and letting it all dry out for a few days in the garage before putting it away. It's an ordeal, especially if it's raining, but at least it's never really cold where we live. I never look forward to winter- ugh! I'm a summer freak, so I consider Halloween my treat for having to say goodbye to summer every year. You seem like you have some really nice vintage decorations. I would keep those candles and lithos out all year long. Those are the good stuff!
Thanks, Charp--I think I'll take your advice about keeping the vintage stuff out. At almost 60 (my birthday is November 2nd, and sometimes I'd get a stale Halloween cake!), I'm old enough to remember when the vintage stuff was just on sale everywhere. In the 60s, Beistle and Dennison (the two best Halloween companies, in my opinion) cornered the market. Even in Catholic school, the nuns would decorate our classrooms. I recall one particular decoration, Dennison (I think) that showed an evil witch cutting out the eye of a pumpkin while it's screaming! And this was tacked by the blackboard, right under a crucifix!
Alas, most of the decorations sold in stores today are but a pale imitation of what came before. Somewhere along the line, things became "cutesy." Instead of a scarecrow that really looked like a classic scarecrow, suddenly he has blushing cheeks and a cherry for a nose and a goofy smile. The cats no longer snarl and scratch. Instead, they just sit there, looking like Figaro from Pinocchio. The jack o'lanterns all have goofy faces, too. The repros from Beistle look good, but they're also cheaper looking than their vintage counterparts. Christopher Radko licensed some of the old Beistile decorations and did them right. I have a vintage Beistle "dancing jack-o'lantern man" that used to hang on neighborhood doors back in the 60s (now a very hot collectible), and Radko redid that, adding a thicker cardboard and glitter! A really nice job.
I wonder--when did Hallowen become sanitized?

I got the haunting season started last night with the 2012 Louisville Zombie Attack. Here's my character from the Louisville Halloween website, The Phantom of the Ville, showing off my John Carpenter signed Criterion "Halloween" laserdisc. Happy Halloween!

Not sure when but I've regretted the same thing. Whenever I look for neat stuff to add to what I have, I find mostly cute friendly ghosts instead of something more realistic - -at least to me. I recently saw a picture of a graveyard where the ghosts were coming up and smiling for the camera. Not what I remember the last time I played in a cemetery.
Stuff has been getting cuter and cuter over the decades, but I think it crossed the line in the 1980's. The Beistle decorations were still pretty creepy in the 70's, but after that, the cuteness got to be pretty strong, and it got worse from there...so I only hang up old Beistle stuff. It's expensive to buy but I think it's worth a little extra expenditure!
I agree with you guys that I think the 80's were the absolute worst decade for Halloween decorations. Everything got "cute." I actually think things got a little better after the end of the 80's except for the endless parade of animated figures that sing "I ain't got no body" or "I'm your boogie man," etc.
I love Beistle decorations too. I grew up with the late 60's and 70's Beistle decorations and I still love them. I've been out to the local novelty shops and reproductions of those same decorations are still available at very low prices. If your tastes run more to the 1930's Beistle decorations, Beistle has set up a website and started to reproduce some of them as well.

If you notice, in the 80s, the colors also got brighter--very little black or grey. Instead, there was a lot of pink and blue. I remember seeing several Beistle ghosts outlined in pink! Scarecrows all had cherry noses, with a cute little mouse on their shoulder. Dancing jack-o'lantern men lost their traditional look and suddenly wore disco outfits and goofy smiles. Witches were no longer leering and nasty looking; they were pink-cheeked and smiled, with a twinkle in their eye. All Halloween decorations showing the Devil were kaput. When I was a kid, in the 60s, we could get "shakers" of skull heads, witch's heads and devil's heads. There's a red plastic devil head I'm sure you've all seen from that era. Sometimes, it's at the end of a black stick, other times, it has a handle and once contained lollipops. No more Devil. Devil is bad, bad, bad!
I have absolutely no doubt that the mid-west has had some effect on all this cuteness. Fundamentalists don't like Halloween--in fact, they hate it. Leering witches and spooky ghosts don't go over well in the Bible Belt, I'm afraid.
Pumped up for Halloween?

NOW I'm getting fired up! My 9 year old (nine and three fourths according to her) granddaughter is spending this weekend with us. I have prepared homemade paper masks of The Witch, The Werewolf, The Vampire, Frankenstein, A Skull and a Jack O'Lantern, but they ae faceless. She has to glue on eyes, mouths, fangs, eye sockets, hair, etc. They're not technically masks, just heads. This is a Saturday project so we're gonna do some more Halloweenish stuff Saturday night! She and Grandma are camping on the floor in The Monster Room tonight and I get the bed to myself! YAY! Plus, I don't have to make my own coffee in the morning - when Autumn's here, it's her "job".
I've gotten pretty bummed out about Halloween in recent years. When I count costumes at stores or in store fliers, at least 80% of the costumes are stupid things like French maids, politicians, rap artists, and sports figures. It's offensive to say the least. I can't hand out candy this year. If I see someone dressed up as Obama or Lady Gaga, I swear, I don't think I'd be able to control the urge to vomit in their trick-or-treat bag. I'm that fed up by how this holiday has been ruined, as have all holidays.
Christmas is just a big spending spree of materialism, where idiots trample each other at Best Buy at 3AM the day after Thanksgiving, a day supposedly dedicated to being thankful for what we have.
Few if any persons I ask understand that Veteran's Day and Memorial Day are OBSERVED rather than CELEBRATED, and fewer still can tell me the difference between the two holidays. No, it's just another excuse for a barbecue, just like Independence Day. Ooops...I mean "Fourth of July" for those ignorant of history. You'd be surprised at how many people I know who cannot answer the question "When do we celebrate Independence Day?". And there's the obligatory barbecue for Labor Day as well, and President's Day and every other "genericized" holiday (yeah, I invented that word).
Halloween has been totally emasculated. Everything has to be funny and goofy and smiley. It sickens me. Everything "horror" has to be turned into a humorous joke. Are people afraid of being afraid or something? I've had arguments with friends and acquaintances about this, about keeping the holiday(s) "pure" for lack of a better word. Some of these arguments have gotten so heated as to come near physical violence. People don't seem to understand that when we water every holiday down to the point where all they become are interchangeable excuses for parties and barbecues, they become meaningless and we lose an important part of our culture. Or rather, we substitute a rich and interesting heritage of varied holidays with a vapid, groundless, irrelevant and meaningless list of dates on which we do the same ridiculous things over and over again. Do we need 3 or 4 holidays to have a barbecue and drink beer? Do we need a holiday to play dress-up or go on a shopping spree? Really?
I find fewer and fewer reasons to go Halloween shopping each year. It's the same lame, pathetic decorations - mainly the cutesy/humorous kind - year after year no matter which stores I go to. There is little to no creativity to be seen, just another year of the same boring decorations that I wouldn't put up if they were given to me for free. Finding something truly worthy of Halloween these days is a rare event. Most of the crappy "Halloween" specialty stores near me have more French maid, sexually oriented, and political costumes than monster costumes, and most of the "monster" material consists of aborted baby decorations. Seriously, I am not kidding. One store last year had almost 1/3rd of the store dedicated to these idiotic dead baby decorations. What is this, Halloween Day or Abortion Day?
I don't participate anymore. I don't support those stores. I don't give out candy to non-horror costumed kids. You come to my door with an Obama costume or a Lady Gaga costume or wearing your grade school soccer outfit, you get nothing. Come as Frankenstein or a ghost or whatever, and you get a fistful of candy. I'm taking back Halloween if I have to train children like Pavlov's dog, I swear to god! Bah, humbug! I'm the Scrooge of Halloween.
Unfortunately, I think, Barlow has a point.....the roots of Halloween, which stretch back to the time of the Celts and Druids, where October marked the end of summer and the growing season, have been forgotten. A time when, according to the Druids, the boundary between the land of the living and that of the dead, could be crossed....Halloween has become, in a sense, almost politically correct....and, I'm not interested in starting a war here, but Halloween has been hijacked by populations of Gays/Lesbians in larger cities, such as New York and San Francisco....I don't want to come off sounding as if I'm biased against this population, for I truly am not, and can understand the reasoning WHY gays and lesbians celebrate this holiday with costumes, etc.....
I hate waiting all year for Halloween, and seeing all the "cutesy" decorations that abound in local stores....smiling ghosts and skeletons, toothy vampires, friendly mummies, and all the rest.
The Halloween of my boyhood in upstate NY is long gone - I remember going out at dusk with my friends, roaming the streets, full of life - noisy, exuberant...children running from house to house...porch lights on, the smell of autumn leaves. All gone....

Barlow and Bizarro Jeff: I kinda feel sorry for you. Of course, the Halloween of your youth is gone.
As a wise man once said: "Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!"
It is the nature of the world. Things change. A century or so ago Halloween was all about vandalism mayhem and blackmail. What did "Trick Or Treat" mean? "Give us stuff and we won't wreck your yard."
Even further back, it was a Catholic Holy Day of Obligation.
Halloween is what you make of it. There are still plenty of stores that sell creepy and scary decorations & costumes. Not everything sold is "PC" or Cute. Even the big box stores carry Halloween stuff that is not "cutsey." At least Target, Shopko, Walmart and Kmart here in Spokanistan do.
You want to be crabby and grouchy?
That is up to you.
But instead of bitchin' moanin' about how the whole world is not what it used to be, you could be out there doing your best to keep Halloween as creepy/scary/fun as you want.
Halloween in: 2 days, 2 hours, 25 minutes and 8 seconds
But who's counting???
Every Halloween, I like to do Halloween events, and I also like to put on a show of some kind. The show can be larger or smaller, but I try to get out there and do it, and reinforce the nature of the holiday and some of its beloved images. I know culture has disintegrated in some ways and become boring and uninspired. That's why I always get out there and do whatever I can to bring more life to the holiday. I promote it, hand out trinkets and toys all month, and put on the biggest show within budget. It is lots of fun to do, and other holiday enthusiasts tend to join in. I say to everyone, enjoy yourselves this fine holiday season, to whatever degree you are able!
Quote from: Fester on October 29, 2012, 12:34:08 AMHalloween is what you make of it. There are still plenty of stores that sell creepy and scary decorations & costumes. Not everything sold is "PC" or Cute. Even the big box stores carry Halloween stuff that is not "cutsey." At least Target, Shopko, Walmart and Kmart here in Spokanistan do.
In truth, I don't mind cutesy decorations either. I like a wide range of Halloween stuff from vintage to present day Beistle, and from kids' Ben Cooper and Collegeville masks and costunes to the Don Post masks. What I don't like though is over the top gory. For example, I'd just as soon not see decorations and masks such as the one on this page:
http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=205.3795 (http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=205.3795)
I like creepy and scary, but something like that mask is just too much. I also don't like modern slasher movies for the same reason even though I'm a huge fan of the Hammer Horror flicks from the fifties to the seventies. It's a matter of degree. The pendulum can swing far too far in either direction.
Quote from: Fester on October 29, 2012, 12:34:08 AMYou want to be crabby and grouchy?
That is up to you. But instead of bitchin' moanin' about how the whole world is not what it used to be, you could be out there doing your best to keep Halloween as creepy/scary/fun as you want.
While I never fail to decry the absence of kids roaming widely and freely to trick or treat as they did when I was a kid, I still appreciate Halloween for what it is today. In fact, in some ways it has improved. For example, the treats given out these days have improved tremendously. All I used to get from many homes was a piddly sucker or Halloween kiss. If I scored over five little chocolate bars or bags of chips on Halloween it was a triumph! Now many/most people give out little treat bags each of which may contain a little chocolate bar plus a whole bunch of other stuff! And there are townhouses now in well to do neighbourhoods! Talk about maximizing your haul! Wow! If I were still a kid, I'd be dumping off one pillowcase at home to get a fresh one!
Moreover, lawn decorations just weren't seen in London back when I was trick or treating in the late fifties/early sixties. People turning their front yards into graveyards and horror fantasies is a more recent phenomenon. And some people do an absolutely marvelous job!

I'll try to post some pictures of our small scale yard haunt this year. We are usually so busy getting everything set up, that I forget to take pics! We started decorating our yard about 25 years ago, when our kids were little. Now we are doing it for every kid that passes by :) You can see our house from the main road, and when we hit the power switch on Halloween night....the power dims in the surrounding houses! (just kidding). We really stepped it up since our grandson was born. But we still do not spend very much $$ on props. They are things we've had for a while, that we keep repainting- or things that family members have given us. I have received birthday presents in July, that someone in my famiy bought after Halloween of the previous year! I love it! We try to change up the main props, but we are not organized or creative enough to have a new thrme each year.
I guess it's always been my favorite holiday to share. I truly enjoy talking to kids/adults that I never would have met- had it not been for our Halloween yard. It's also cool because we have always lived in neighborhoods with people from many different countries, and they love the holiday as well! There is no presssure because Halloween belongs to everyone- no matter what your beliefs are.
We also have a party every year for friends/family/anyone who wants to hang out. My grandson comes up with all the names for the games we play, and he is the official host. I provide the food, prizes, props, candy, etc. And he and his little pals/and their parents hang out and enjoy. When we were cleaning up Saturday night, I noticed that my masks in my monster room (they are not expensive- just sentimental) had been removed from the stands and it looked like they had been "tried on". I thought to myself.....where else can a group of kids ages 7, 8, 4, and 5- get to explore a monster room in someone's house- without aduts (we were all downstairs) and try on monster masks? I felt so proud that these kids had an opportunity to have unsupervised Halloween FUN!

Not by half, compared to Barlow. ::)
But then, I don't think Halloween has been diminished by how it has changed since I was a kid 45-50 years ago. Its just different (I would have killed to have access to something like a Spirit Halloween store back then!)
And that was kind of the vibe I was getting from your post-Barlow comment.
And a big Anniversary Congratulations. Well done! All the more reason to celebrate. 8)
How about a GUMBY Halloween?

I constantly learn new things by reading these boards.
The only thing I really care about in regards to Halloween is that it is still accessible to kids. As long as kids can still dress up, trick or treat, and have fun, I am okay with the rest of it. But the focus needs to be on the kids and making the night/time of year memorable for them. That's why we decorate the yard and dress up to hand out candy -- to make the night something they won't ever forget... just like we will never forget all of our Halloweens. If you create a special night for the Treaters who come to your door, you ensure that Halloween will continue for many years to come.
Right On, Aura of Foreboding!
That is and always should be the focus.
HAPPY HALLOW'S EVE!

I agree! And that's why I don't think over-the-top gory decorations/costumes are a good thing on Halloween.
:)
We put a lot of startling props in our yard, but no blood or gore. We have figures that say things to people as they walk past them and strobes & fog. We also have screaming props with sensors, and we have a movie playing in the upstairs window (on a big white bedsheet screen) that draws their attention upward while they're walking down the sidewalk and up to our stairs. It's all fun and quick! No dilly dallying. The biggest chaos of the night is usually when kids are yelling "I like your decorations!", and we're trying to hand out the candy bags and answer everyone. But I love it!!
And around 10:00 pm.....we start bring the large props in and it usually takes a couple hours of walking back & forth to the garage- and we make it all disappear by morning. And on Nov. 1st....our bones are achy. But it's cool :)
One more day!

I am always pumped for Halloween. I had my zombies up on the front lawn October 1st. I'll post pics as soon as my Abbey Normal brain processes the directions Mike gave me to do such. ::)
We have a party every year the last Saturday night before Halloween and the theme is different every year. I dress up as Frankenstein on Halloween and go trick or treating with my girls when I'm not home handing out candy in the same outfit. My wife won't let me answer the door if the kids are too small. >:D I'm over 6'9" in the costume. After it gets dark, I sit outside slumped in a chair until the older kids get close. Then I stand up and they crap their pants. My dog goes nuts when the doorbell rings so I intercept the trick or treaters and save my bulldog a lot of grief. ;)

It's the same way every year, ever since I was a little boy. Then again, who grew up?
I am super excited! Yay!
I did my decorating on Friday 9/22. More time to enjoy everything. I take a vacation day from work every year, as it's an all day project. Most of the stuff is on the inside of the house. Added a few new items this year., and just had my movie Monster Bash on 10/14. I love it more and more with each passing year. I have a lifetime pass on being a kid, and plan on living until at least 150-200 years old, so all is good & spooky with me.

1. Taking full advantage of all the post-holiday candy and Halloween cake sales.

How can that possibly hold a candle to gathering around an unadorned metal pole and airing your grievances?
You're right. That is indeed a tough act to beat. Twould truly take a bevy of really lithe and lovely witches to pull off such a feat.
:-\
Resurrecting an old thread instead of creating a new one, since the topic remains the same. I'm personally getting very excited about my "holiday season" starting in just 5 weeks from now. I'll explain...
I do a huge amount of decorating for Halloween, and even more for Christmas. A more moderate amount for Thanksgiving (only so much you can do with that holiday decorating-wise). For the longest time I've referred to the "holiday season" as all of October, November, and December. I'm all decorated for Halloween on Oct 1st, then the day after Halloween it all comes down and the Thanksgiving stuff goes up. The 3 days after Thanksgiving are literally 16 to 18 hrs. per day decorating in order to put up all the Christmas stuff.
Starting last year though, partly due to impatience and partly due to nostalgia, I've expanded the "holiday season" to include September, and there's a horror-related reason why. On Sept. 5th, 1981, I went to the local drive in with my cousin and my best friend in high school at the time. We were all huge horror movie fans and the drive in had an awesome five movie/all night showing:
Night of the Living Dead
Massacre At Central High
The Rats Are Coming, the Werewolves Are Here (love that title!)
Flesh Grinders (aka Corpse Grinders)
Last House On the Left II (aka Bay of Blood)
Lots of pizza and sodas and a great time watching horror movies all night!
So now, every Sept. 5th, I "celebrate and recreate" that night. I grab a pizza, some snacks, etc. and watch the movies back to back. If it's nice out, I sit on my balcony and watch the movies through the balcony door. I also decorate with printed ads from the newspaper for the drive in rom back when the movies first played.
And then on Sept. 6th (in 1978) was the premiere of the original Dr. Strange tv movie. Why the hell not? Let's make it an event too! So on Sept. 6th I decorate with various Dr. Strange and Dormammu action figures and comics and have some treats and watch the original tv show on DVD.
Then I had an idea! The autumn Equinox falls on Sept. 21st or 22nd roughly each year (this year on the 22nd at 8:03 PM CST). So...why not celebrate the start of the holiday season of fall with the movie Equinox on the equinox? Makes sense to me! And then that gives me a week to get out all the Halloween stuff, shop for new stuff, and take my time decorating so it's ready by Oct. 1st (so I don't have to do it all in one or two very long days). During that time (Sept. 23rd-Sept. 30th), I start watching a horror movie every night - sort of like an appetizer - to "prime" myself for the Halloween season. I start with some of the less major horror films and save my top 60 movies for the month of October (usually 2 a night, though some nights may be more or less, like when I do the Phantasm I - IV marathon night!).
Halloween night always includes watching Its The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, then the Paul Lynde Halloween Special (a classic!), then Mad Monster Party (I've watched this every year for over 50 years now!) and then a final horror movie to cap off the season. If I don't find a new horror movie to buy for Halloween night (it's getting hard to find ones I don't have on DVD or Blu-ray by now), then I default to the original Halloween movie.
So yeah, I am getting stoked! Only 5 weeks till my "holiday season" kicks off!
OH MY GOSH YEEAAAHHH!
Heck, folks... it's August 1st already!! Getcherself Ready! Before you know it...It Will Be Here! I've already seen Spirited Halloween moving in and getting ready to open, open, open! Oooooo!!
I'm seriously considering decking myself out in skull face for the Trick-or-Treaters...or maybe something else. Must...ponder on this.
