Christopher Lee's film career has been even more imposing than his 6' 5" frame. He holds the record in the Guiness book for most film acting roles ever with 266 since 1948. Among his best known roles have been Francisco Scaramanga in "The Man with the Golden Gun" and as Dracula in Hammer's series of films:
(Horror of) Dracula (1958)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968)
Taste the Blood of Dracula (1969)
Scars of Dracula (1970)
Dracula AD 1972 (1972)
The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973)
Not only did he bring his deep strong voice to the part, but he fit Bram Stoker's description of the Count splendidly.

Yes, that was very good! Lee also popped up in a cameo in Ringo Starr's film The Magic Christian-actually the highlight of the film for me!

One of my favorite Hammer Dracula movies. Cool soundtrack cover. That Risen poster could be one of my favorites.
Don't forget Lee in Jess Franco's Count Dracula. He has more dialogue than the Hammer roles and he plays the role close to Stoker's novel. Plus the movie has Soledad Miranda...

However, with that being said, Lee still made a few really good Dracula films. I like the Hammer series.

Lugosi was THE Count Dracula, for many. However Lee brought a different dynamic to the role. He also loved the character, and tried to encourage film makers to have the character be more like the one Stoker wrote. Also "Horror of Dracula" was a better film than "Dracula". So who do I think of, when I think of Dracula? Both of them.

Class is right! I felt Christopher Lee was classy through and through, from his service in the military during WW2 to his loyalty and devotion to his wife of 54 years. How he lived his life seemed to be at least as important to him as how he played his roles (if not more so). Thank you Christopher Lee, for the wonderful lifetime of amazing performances.
