From.the.'Net:
His third wife and close friend, Anneke Wills, said: "As his body was deteriorating this week, he said that he wanted to hang on for St Patrick's Day. And he did, just. In the end... there is only love." Michael Gough leaves his current wife Henrietta, his daughter Emma and sons Simon and Jasper. His grandchildren Samuel and Daisy are also actors. He was 94.

I wrote to him during the 80's and to my surprise he sent me a lovely signed embossed card with his name at the top, I used the word surprised because he always seemed to me to so aloof and maybe he would be disinterested in a fan. What did I know here was a true gentleman who took the time to answer my letter, all I can say is what a great actor to give me such an impression. His third wife Anneke Wills played Polly on Dr Who during the sixties as did Michael himself he played the Celestial toymaker. Another great gone, R.I.P Mr Gough you deserve a rest.
A distinguished artist, he will be missed. "In the end... there is only love." How true.
He was in a ton of stuff, and always good. Recently watched one called "Crucible of Horror."
One of my favorite villians and never better than in "Phantom Of The Opera"! R.I.P.
The Celestial Toymaker, Lord Delamere, Alfred (naming characters just off the top of my head). He will be missed.
Sleep in Peace, Mr. Gough.... and Thank You for my first tast of HAMMER: HORROR OF DRACULA.

Rest In Peace Michael Gough. Thanks for the great movies!
Always an awesome presence in whatever he was in. I'll never forget him in Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors. What an actor!
R.I.P. Mr. Gough.
A real Old Pro.
So glad he got the break the Bad Guy typecasting! (Recently heard his great BBC "Scrooge," where he of course gets to play good AND bad.)
A full, long life - salut!

R.I.P. KONGA.........A CLASSIC.........BIG JOHN........WHATS UP TERRY......
An absolutely wonderful actor.
I loved him in everything I saw him in.
RIP Michael Gough
Best Alfred ever. Rest In Peace, sir... :(
A friend of mine is convinced that Vincent Price starred in Horrors Of The Black Museum - I repeatedly told him it was Michael Gough he was thinking of. Just shows the kind of presence Mr. Gough projected.
A great actor, certainly he was blessed to live such a long and rich life. RIP.
Here's a bit of monster related trivia concerning Michael Gough, in the film Batman and Robin Alfred holds up a photo of his sister Peg and it's none other than a young Gloria Stuart.
That's cool - I love little "cameos" like that!
I was a kid when the Burton Batman came out so he was Alfred to me for most of my life. It wasn't until I was in my 20's and started really getting into Hammer that I realised what a contribution he made to the Horror genre. Yet another person whose career inspires me. Anyone know if there are any bio's about Gough?
