Title: IRON MAN
Post by: Halloween Jeff on May 02, 2008, 07:35:21 PM

I simply cannot say enough good things about "Iron Man".  The cvasting is suberp, especially Downey as Tony Stark.  Plenty of action to satisfy the die-hard fan...truly a must see.

I am checking this out on Saturday. I am still not convinced on Downey Jr playing Tony Stark but I'll reserve judgment until I see the film.

I grew up with the alcoholic, troubled Tony Stark so Downey should know that, lol...  and he's a terrific actor too.

Everything I've heard about this is very positive, and that's been from comics fans who haven't been too thrilled with most of the Marvel movies.  Going with my son tomorrow...

There have been minor changes in the storyline from the comics - but nothing that makes a great deal of difference....I don't remember Pepper from the comic books, however...

Pepper was part of the original supporting cast back when Iron Man first started in comics in the '60's.

Darn straight it was!  I'd love to think that this was a clue at the direction a sequel will go.

Dang!  I guess I can't wait for this one to hit Netflix.  I'll have to take out a personal loan and take the kids to the movies! ;)

I saw Iron Man tonight at the drive in with my wife, daughter and son. They had a deal were you buy a 10 ticket book for $50 . To sweeten the pot they let my son in for free tonight. So I have 7 tickets left, which means we'll get a 3rd film, I'll have to pay for a ticket again for him. He's 6 years old so that will only be another $4. So for $54 I'll be able to take my whole family to Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and Dark Knight this summer.Throw in the chance we may actually want to see the 2nd movie at one of the showings thats a great bargian. We didnt stay tonight for Drillbit Taylor however ,blame us :o?  Iron Man will hit netflix/home video in Oct btw.
Anyway back on topic. Iron Man was fantastic. It was faithful to the books, good story, well acted, great fx, a near perfect superhero movie. It's THE superhero movie to beat now, and it set the bar high indeed. It knocked Spidey2 out of the top spot for me. It wasnt just a great superhero movie mind you. It was a really good film on any terms.

There was a lot more humour than I expected, but it didn't seem forced like it did in Transformers.  The fx were better, too.

This movie sucked. It was nothing like the song. They totally left out the part where Ironman kills the people he once saved.

I saw it Saturday!  Very entertaining movie.  Then again, I'm easily entertained playing with Monster Toys.

I though Robert Downey Jr had Stark down.  The FX were excellent!

Saw it again this weekend with my kids, and caught some things.  The terrorists are called "TenRings", clearly a nod to Stark's original Yellow Menace / Red Scare origin and subsequent arch-enemy the Mandarin.

Is Iron man the best movie of the summer? I give Iron Man a solid 8 and Indy a 6 Can the Hulk, Batman, Xfiles (Not promoted in any way ) The Happening( His first R Rated, Critics all ready hate it) OR Hellboy   ( Looks Great) be better.  HHW

I went to see Iron Man last weekend, and I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable movie. My only real "complaint" was that I found the pacing of the movie to be a bit slow. Other than that, though, it was great, and probably one of the better superhero movies I have seen in a while.

However, as for whether anything else this summer will be able to compete with Iron Man, I have to say that I'm putting all my money on The Dark Knight. ;)

I loved it, thought that I though Robert Downey Jr was brilliant, and what I wouldn't give to have that first Iron Man suit!

Just got thru watching the 2 disc DVD of this and it still holds up great in comparison to the cinematic experience. Some pretty neat extras featuring the history of the character, plus friends & foes..
Hope the HULK and DARK KNIGHT DVD's are just as cool!

Picked up IRONMAN at Best Buy today, the best of the superhero type movies I've seen yet.  Story almost exactly follows `60's comics I grew-up with.
