Hi, first of all let me say how thankful I am to be part of such a great discussion group - for I just joined! I stopped my Hawthorne Village subscription a couple years or so ago and now want to finish it. I wrote Bradford Exchange and receievd the foillowing list as pieces in the collection:
FRANKENSTEIN'S CASTLE
DRACULA'S CASTLE
MUMMY'S TOMB
CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON
WOLFMAN'S LAIR
FRANKENSTEIN'S BURNING WINDMILLS
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN CASTLE
THE PHANTOM'S PARIS OPERA
INVISIBLE MAN'S INN
TRANSYLVANIA TRAIN STATION
MUMMY'S MUSEUM
FRAKENSTEIN'S COTTAGE
BURIAL SITE
GOTHIC CATHEDRAL
HAUNTED RITA
FORTUNE TELLER CAMPS
HOUSE OF DRACULA
CASTLE FRANKENSTEIN
RITUAL CHAMBER
INVISIBLE MAN'S DEMISE
EXCAVATION SITE
WOLF MAN'S MANSION
I have ten out of the first eleven and olny lack the train station. What are the accessory sets and train components - if anyone knows?
The Transylvania Train Station comes with a Conductor or Ticket Agent on a bench, he's apparently been bitten by a Vampire.

Thanks so much for the awesome pics!. That is a real nice piece and I like the conductor too. Do you know if they have finished making pieces or it is still being continued?
Now this is a neat looking piece, and the conductor is great, but companies too often corn these type of items up, here with the pumpkins. It just doesn't need them.
is there a website where i can start ordering these from?

There has been quite a bit of discussion on the Hawthorne UM village (and lists of both the village and accessory collections), here are some of the previous post links~

There is also a train set available here http://www.bradfordexchange.com/products/48195_halloween-train.html (http://www.bradfordexchange.com/products/48195_halloween-train.html) Each car comes with a previously released figure.
As far as I know these are the only train cars released~

I know longer have my subscription to them but I'm pretty sure they never made the Wolfman car!?
Thanks so much for the links and pics. I have just signed back on where I left off. The people at Bradford Exchange were super nice and cooperative. :)
Hello everyone!
Apologies for bumping an old topic.. but thought it would be better to post here, than start a new one. I'm new here, but have been collecting Universal Monsters toys and memorabilia since I was a kid (I'm 37 now). I have all but 8 of these Hawthorne Village sets... I just pulled them out of the basement for the first time in at least 12 years, and they are DUSTY. What would you all recommend for properly cleaning these? They are fragile, so I want to be cautious of wiping anything. I also don't want to soak them for fear of damaging the electronics. I used a can of compressed air on one, and while that got all the loose dust off, there's still a lot stuck on there. Any tips would be appreciated!
Thank you!
Livio

You're still a kid! ;D (I'm old.)
Should've kept the boxes for those things, or at least wrap them in paper, or plastic for long term storage.
Warm water and some mild dish soap. Q-Tips for scrubbing delicate parts.
Mike's idea is right and try using a very soft paint brush with the soapy water. Good luck with the clean up.

We've got a shop nearby that has huge tabletops full of those miniature villages. If I didn't already have
so many rubber masks, I'd probably be a Bradford/Hawthorne collector.
For dusting purposes, I suggest a blush brush. The soft bristles are ideal for use on my fragile model kits.
Get one at any beauty salon or pharmacy that sells makeup supplies.
Welcome to The UMA, LMerino. Merino ... would your family happen to be in the textiles business?

You're very correct. It's always better to use a pre-existing thread than to start a new one on the same topic. For one thing, old posts/commentary is interesting and useful. Moreover you avoid discussion forum "clutter" by using a pre-existing thread.
:)

Yes. Sadly they're one of those collectibles that create display space problems. Since they can't be stacked, their area footprint immediately uses up the cubic space above. Unless of course one goes to sliding horizontal panels at different levels enabling different scenes to be displayed in rotation.

I use one, too, but you've got to dust more than once a decade. ;D

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely try the blush brush - I hadn't thought of that. I think I'm too nervous to use water yet.
And we're not in the textile business... that I know of at least :)

I
hope you're not related to the textile Merinos, since they are a breed of sheep.
