Title: Dave Conover's book on Cooper & O"Brien's "War Eagles" is out!!!
Post by: Radioactive Rod Whitenack on February 25, 2011, 12:29:14 PM
Dave Conover's exhaustively researched book on the pre-production of Merian C. Cooper and Willis O'Brien's technicolor, stop-motion "War Eagles" is now available to purchase at Amazon.com! This may be the story of the greatest fantasy film never made! I met with Dave for lunch a couple of years ago and he showed me the tip of the iceberg of the amazing stuff he discovered while researching this book. I was blown away. This is a must buy.

Thanks for chiming in Dan. I was starting to fear that either nobody here was interested or that nobody knew what "War Eagles" was (a crime Dave's book will hopefully solve)! He has indeed been working on this project for YEARS! Thanks again!

I remember having a long conversation with Dave about this project years ago at Wonderfest.  I've been curious about it ever since.  I'm going to have to pick this one up.  Plus, Dave is a great guy!

Thanks all-- especially Rod for getting the word out!  Readers seem very pleased by the book so far and that's the best reward one could wish for...  I'll have copies at both HorrorHound / MaskFest in Indy and WonderFest in Louisville for anyone wanting a signed volume and/or some long-winded tales about the twisted path this book took on its way to publication!
