(http://www.artasylum.com/uploads/gallery/munsters-gallery/fig5.jpg)(http://www.artasylum.com/uploads/gallery/munsters-gallery/fig8.jpg)None for me, because I am not a big enough Munsters fan...but here be the news and some sculpt shots. If this has already been started, then mods feel free to merge the threads. I didnt see any news posted about these and thought I would share with the family...wonder if we will get Uncle Gilbert, lol? :D

A must have for me! I didn't see a release date. Hope it is soon. Thanks for the heads up.
These are cool. I'd rather see a Dark Shadows line, but I might have to pick up a couple of them (down the line).
Herman looks a bit cartoonish. Are these supposed to be "stylized" figures?
I see it too, Mord. But, I don't think they're stylized: http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=12738.0 (http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=12738.0)
If these actually make it to stores and without a $24.99 per piece price tag I'll pick them all up
Bad idea of diamond select.....poor sales of these (and they will be poor) will tend to reflect badly on the classic monster figures we all want to see produced.
Alas, another set of mediocre Munsters dolls. Eddie is closest, Grandpa is terrible. Marilyn and Herman are just OK. The Lily looks based on the "Howard Studios" full size head sculpt!
Yes, they seem a bit off target and i'd prefer Diamond continue to explore the classic Uni Monsters before even attempting anything like this. While i'm at it...There have been quite a few Munster figure releases in recent years. WHY hasn't anybody put out a decent set of Addams Family figures [the TV show , not the movie] yet???
Agreed!
Im a huge Munsters Fan/Collector, Not sure about these, I guess the packaging could make it or break it for me, right now not too impressed. Bring on the classic monsters Diamond!
Looks cool, but one of my pet peeves with action figs like this is that articulate cut right through the middle of the thighs and the jock strap style mid.
I love articulation, but only when it's not noticeable enough to affect the overall look.
Posted painted pix here:

Howard Senft is the ONLY one to date that has nailed the likeness of the Munster clan. Thank God I own them all (except for Lily).

I suppose, then, that I'm the only one extremely excited about these? Oh, well. I'll buy 'em!

Wrong Andy! I'm lovin these
Yep, I posted my enthusiasm in the other thread though! I'm definitely down for a set!
Excellent! Most excellent!

I'm not the biggest Munsters fan in the world- I like them well enough, just enough to collect. Nitpicking the likenesses aside I think this is a really nicely sculpted set. My only issue would probably be the weird articulation lines, that cause that awful 'jock strap' look. Still I think these look really high quality for a mass market product.
Anyone actually see these at a Toys R Us yet??
DST Munsters in stores Tuesday (10/18)
Wow, these actually look at lot better than the original pictures posted. The sculpts look a lot better but the paint apps are still terrible.
I know these figs are available online now, but has anyone seen them in any stores?
I was really hoping TRU was going to carry them....
I finally saw them in my local comics store and would like to retract my previous comments. The sculpts aren't that great and some of the paint apps are awful. That said, the accessories are great and ,overall, these are better than most previous efforts. If you're a fan, go ahead and buy 'em and sort it out later. You could always sell them.
TRU has the figures without the electric chair parts. The electric chair parts are exclusive to comic shops, specialty stores and online retailers, and those figures have the bigger Select-style packaging (and cost a little more).

I have seen them at my local TRU. They come in a smaller package than the ones you will find in a comic shop. It appears the ones in the comic shops have the parts included to build Grampas electric chair but the one at TRU have one accessory included no chair parts. I haven't been able to compare the two versions. I thought it might be like Frankenstein and Dracula being different in comic shops and TRU figures were different and exclusive to them.
The "figures" are identical to the comic shop versions. No parts for the electric chair in the TRU versions, but the figures are exactly the same. I open the comic shop versions and hung the TRU versions on my wall. I do like the TRU packaging more than the comic shop packaging......
Saw these in person the other week and I dig them (way more than the DST Frankenstein or Dracula), thinking about getting a set for my daughters to play with.
I got a set at TRU the other day. I didn't feel the extra $5-10 each was worth it for the direct versions. Only problem is TRU usually only gets one case and don't restock.
Unlike the Uni Diamond stuff, these are truly Action Figures full of articulation. I really enjoy them. Granpa is hands down the best in the set. But switching his hand is a PITA.
I just purchased the Deluxe versions at my local comic book store.
The figures are indeed, awesome! Plus, one can build the electric chair!
Herman and Grandpa look amazing. Lily, her particular figure/likeness,
decent. ;D
Do these come with bases?

Do these come with bases?
The TRU versions do. More like a stand than a base. A jagged Square of wooden floorboards with pegs.
I just picked up mine at my local comic shop. I haven't opened them yet but they look good. I see they are going to release a 2 pack next of Marilyn and Eddie. Marilyn is Pat Priest and the likeness looks good. I read they are also supposed to make a Munster Coach that fits the figures. That would be cool.
So you don't get a base with the deluxe versions? I hope they do follow through with Eddie and Marilyn.

The deluxe versions come with the same base as the TRU figures.

Really? That thing be huge!

Nope. Just an electric chair.
The Munsters Coach is actually 1:15 scale, smaller than the figures, but it will have lights and sounds.
The specialty store versions of the figures come with everything the TRU figures come with, plus the chair parts. So they all have small floor bases.

I think these figures are so cool. I actually just won a prototype of Grandpa Munster from DST. It's VERY cool looking.
Does the prototype look closer to Al Lewis than the actual released version. I wish I could Find prototypes of the Universal Monsters line. Those were so much better than the figures that made it to the stores.
Yeah, the head looks pretty much exactly like the white head in the pics on the first post. The whole thing is white except for the legs, which are black.
I'm envious. for sure.
Any pics for the Munsters coach yet?

I haven't seen anything yet. But, pictures would be cool.
They showed the prototype at SDCC and NYCC -- windshield will be clear, obviously:

Date for the Minimates version has been pushed back, though.
Very cool!
Cheapie lookin'.
i will probably pick up the eddie figure. i am definitely going to get Marylin because i call my sister in law Marlyn because my whole family looks like the Munsters except her, i would buy a Marlyn Munster figure for her every holiday and have given her so many that i ran out of Marlyns to give her. so now i am totally excited to give her another after all this time.
i would totally get a woof woof figure if they made one.
Wow! Extremely cool!
Prototypes don't usually look as good as production, since nothing is cast in the right material, and it's all painted. They're also fragile. If you've seen DST's electronic BTTF DeLoreans and Enterprise ships, you can see they come out pretty nice.
Marilyn & Eddie to be offered as 2 pack:

A Diamond Select Release! Sculpted by Jean St. Jean! Voted Best New License of 2011 by Cool Toy Review, DST's hit 7" Munsters line continues with the next two figures in the family, Eddie and Marilyn! The two youngest members of the Munster clan come as a pair, side-by-side in oversized Select figure packaging, along with character-specific accessories! The missing piece in your Munsters collection!
That's a smart move. I'm sure a lot of casual Munsters fans would pass on one of the figures if the other one weren't included... It's not that they don't want the ugly duckling of the group, they just can't justify paying full price for her. :D
DST Mentioned on their Facebook Page that they may consider doing Spot. I suggested they do Uncle Gilbert. ;D

I know this is a dumb question, but is that car big enough to hold the new figures. That would be awesome!!!

I am all over both! And how about Cousin Phantom of the Opera? Or Mr. Gateman? Everyone would have a John Carradine figure that way. :)

There is a pic of the car next to the figures somewhere and Eddie could barely fit in it! Found it...........

Yes, figures are the Select 7-inch scale used for Marvel and Universal, while the Koach will be 1:15 scale, I believe. Closer to a 4-inch scale. Not meant to be compatible, and DST has never done vehicles for their 7-inch figures... although they've done a lot of chairs (Star Trek command chair, Munsters Electric Chair, Dr. Doom and Mephisto's thrones, etc.).
Found some prototype pics on artasylum.com, including one with a G.I. Joe for comparison and one with the DeLorean:

I love my Munster figures. I opted for the regular versions because their is something cool about buying toys at a Toy store not a comic shop. I'll definitely be getting the Eddie set, Whether Marylin gets displayed is debatable.
