What is the best magazine for model builders and collectors these days? Is it still "Kitbuilders (and formerly Glue Sniffers) Magazine"?
???
I'd recommend Amazing Figure Modeler for your SF and Horror modeling needs. they publish quarterly and have some of the best builders working today writing articles for them. Kitbuilders seems to be having some difficulty of late and their publishing schedule has become erratic. For general modeling, cars, planes, ships etc, FineScale Modeler provides a lot of good, solid modeling techniques that can be applied to many areas of the hobby including SF and Horror stuff.
Agree with Jim, AFM is the only way to go!
Andy
has anyone seen the AFM issue that is about frankenstein...its not really old but its not new either...any good? i just ordered it, looking forward to it!
i have some more general modeling interests and get Fine Scale Modeler. also moving into slot cars and probly model trains soon.
the kid's slot care set he got last december was a huge hit. busy adding criss-crosses, chicanes, hairpins, big curves and squeeze tracks to it.
When it comes to model mags AFM is the way to go and IMOP is the best mag out there today 8).I did use to subscribe to KB mag but a year or two ago when they went awol on their subscribers never renewed my membership with them.

This Ford GT is my favourite of the Scalextric RTR cars:

But I'll probably also soon be buying one of these 1/32 Monogram Ferrari slot car kits:
