For years there has been rumors of many films/t.v. shows that have, let's just say, hidden
messages, plots or certain ambiguous nature. This is a touchy subject, I don't want
to offend anyone. But...... I will, that's what I am good at. Here is to name a few rumored films:
Risky Business, Nightmare on Elm st.II, Thelma and Louise, 300,
Top Gun, Footloose, Road Warrior, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and really
there are too many to list.
I was just curious on everyones take on this, feelings, opinions or whatever.
If anyone here has any films/t.v. show they would like to add, and why they feel
the film/t,v, show is questionable. Again, not to offend anyone, and I would like to
add, be respectful to others. This THREAD would
definitely be a........

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I can be a bit naive or maybe just "thick". :-[ I don't usually look for hidden agendas or secret messages. C:)
Of the films that you have mentioned, what have you heard? ??? I don't mean what you believe, :-\ so there is not a question about yourself to be upset at, but just "what have you heard"? ??? :o thrhrt

Buy Post Toasties, or whatever else the sponsors are pushing.
The original King Kong supposedly was pitching 'Mrs. Zabkuwski's Homemade Apple Pies'...... OK, it wasn't------OR WAS IT!!?
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid had a secret agenda? :o
OH, yeah! . . .The product placement for Schwinn!

I heard that but I thought that marketers tried it an found that didn't work. I don't have anything to substantiate this however. I also understand that if you play one of the Beatles records backward that it says something about marijuana. I did that and did hear the word marijuana. But I still think that's a bunch of baloney. How could anybody possibly do that? It was just way too stupid. It was an interesting coincidence, however.
There are lots of rumors of back masking. Supposedly Revolution 9 by the Beatles said "Turn me on Dead Man" when played backwards. When I tired it on my record--all it did was screw up the needle and broke the turntable drive belt. The only message I got from that was Dad yelling at me for breaking his stereo.
As far as movie secret messages: The easiest way to increase concession sales was to have the popcorn popper near the theater heating/ac ducts. Worked like a charm.
Lest we not forgot the grandaddy of backwards masking
"Paul is Dead"
Or like Barney's "I love you song" when you play it backwards, you hear the message, "Barney is the antichrist, drink his blood"
That Can't be true Doc!!! I love Barney, and I don't care who knows it! I heard that Another one bites the dust backwards says I've decided to smoke marijuana! Some old man told me that when I was in my 20s and I finally got the technology to play it backwards and I heard "roraroaorararra".

How on Earth can anyone be offended when no one knows what you're talking about. We are all adults here and I don't think anyone is going to run off and cry in a corner...so could you just come out and say what is so questionable about any of the movies you mentioned?

NOOOOOOO! Judd NOOOOOO! And I immediately knew what tune to sing your little song to- Hahahaha! I can't help it, I love Barney! When I was Cheeseasaurus Rex, back in the 90s ( my 15 minutes of fame), some of the kids would come running up to me and yell "Barney"!! At first I was resentful, but then I studied Barney's mannerisms and dance moves and suddenly we were kindred spirits! I know, I have some dino-issues, but I will always love that purple Adonis, whether I'm wearing the Dinosaur suit or not......
Charp13, You were a Cheesawhatamus? I'm afraid if we knew what that was it would have to be boiled in a big pot along with Barney........Dino, yes, Barney, no.......

Are you sure? I could have sworn that it said something about marijuana? Like I think I've got the munchies. Maybe that's some kind of secret code for marijuana smokers? Or maybe it's some aliens from outer space smoking marijuana? Te possibilities are endless. Did you have the record, "They're coming to take me Away"? I think the B side had it backwards. We rolled on the floor over that one. It said at one point, "e fell fell e al ay yousneck" I'll have to look for it.
If you like that, you should see "Reefer Madness". It hilarious especially if you watch the computer colorized version.

It's cool, Uncula :) I had trouble posting it, so I forgot to identify. This will be the last time I speak of C-Rex. (and my friend Barney). If anyone would like to see more, they can go on my Facebook. It was a glorious year of my life as a dinosaur, the memories of that tv commercial campaign remain. Kraft will show him every once and a while, but for the most part, they've left him to die like so many dinos before him. Hahaha- I guess you know by now that I am nuts, but that was a TV commercial that madea person go- HUNGRY for orange powdered cheese and macaroni. I can honestly say that I never buy it or eat it- bleh. But I believed in the character. I have a poster that I framed of one of my "appearances" and a couple of C-Rex comics (I used to give them out at Halloween along with the candy) and a few more pictures that my family took. Well- I have never started a new topic, but I would love to know if other people in the UMA have been pro/am costumed characters at theme parks, for work, or for birthday parties etc. I'm not sure where to put it if it's a goog topic or not. :)

Char!! We're just teasing you!! Don't drop the topic!! BTW, that WOULD be a good topic. You never know who might pop up!!
Do you think it would be a good topic to start "Were you ever a costumed character?" ? I figure with all the characters lurking around the UMA, some of them had to be in costume duty at conventions or parades. I think it would cool to hear their stories :)
Absolutely!! Not to mention the number of members who live in Cali by DisneyLand. I'm sure we have a few members here who proudly donned a poofy pastel outfit at one time or another. Sadly, I'm not among them, but I WOULD do it if I had the chance.
