Has anyone heard anything about this figure, and it's status/potential release date? Last I heard it was schedule to be in the US for sale third quarter 2010. It's 2011, and to the best of my knowledge it wasn't released last year. So~ I am kind of curious.
I know there are a lot of issues with smaller toy companies trying to fight the economic crisis. It would be a shame if this were to be put on indefinite hold like the Masque of Red Death figure was. Or cancelled like my beloved "It~the terror from beyond space" figure. Not seeing it available as anything but a pre-order concerns me. So~ any news?
I wonder if they moved him to 2011 since this is his 100th birthday.
If he's been moved to 2011, I doubt it has much to do with his birthday and more to do with fear over attempting to release an item this "nichey" in the current economic climate. NECA scrapped their TMNT line, DST scrapped their classic Star Trek~the original series wave 5 and salt vampire. Stuff seems to get shown at Toy Fairs and SDCC, etc. But then never materializes on the actual toy shelf to purchase. :'(
NECA had to scrap TMNT because of their license. They only had "specialty store" rights, in other words, TRU, WalMart, Target...in essence any large national retailer, couldn't carry them. Specialty stores were not interested and they had to abandon the line. As long as Playmates holds the primary rights they weren't going to let anyone else sell TMNT figures in the same places they were.
As far as I know Executive Replicas still plans to release this figure. The economy has taken a toll on smaller companies, no doubt about that. ER has some plans in the works to try and catch up production with all the prototypes they have shown. I'm sure any new information will be posted on there website, facebook and twitter.
A year and a half ago since the last reply. 3 and a half years since it was first announced. I have officially given up hope. :'( Too bad. It looked great. :'( :'( :-\

It's a shame. It really did look great.
I'm reminded of when the indy comics bubble burst in the '90s. You had a comic book/collectibles shop every two blocks. Then they started dying off by the dozens. Then all the publishers started going under. I had a friend that had a small stable of titles. Overnight, he was out of business. "I could pay my mortgage, or my printer, but not both," he told me. "Guess which one I paid?"
Now, in this economy, it's EVERYTHING that can just dry up overnight. Scary, and not in the good way.
I know a small independant company has plans for an Edwaed Lionheart over the next couple of months ::)

Veeeeeeerrrrryyyy Interesssssting. ;)
Anton, I spoke to Martin at Executive replicas a week ago. He told me that the Karloff Fu Manchu figure is available right now and that the Vincent Price is about to come out. I was trying to get info on the next Karloff but he said VP will come next since it's almost ready to go. Trust me, it's worth the wait. Check out the quality and detail on the Fu Manchu to see what I'm talking about.
Mord---Did you get Fu? Any in hand shots? Weird that Fu saw release this quickly...but Vince has been languishing in Dante-ville for so long. Thanks for the intel!! Happier than I was an hour ago now, lol.
Don't have it yet but I'm told that it looks exactly as it does in the photos. Sculptor Ray Santoleri saw it in person and said that it was very impressive. Trust me, Ray knows what he's talking about. I can't wait for the Black Cat Karloff (it's the one character I've wanted for decades). Vincent Price should be available within a month or two. All the casting, painting, clothing etc. is handmade by gifted American artisans (not Chinese slave labor).

SERIOUSLY? Made in America???? My respect-o-meter went up on that note. That's for sure. I get tired of nothing being made at home anymore. Nice to know.
I'm GLAD, for Anton's sake, that VP is coming out. I'd love a Karloff FuManchu, but I've got to set the money aside for the Dracula Medallion and the Mad Monster Party figures. I'm not saving nearly as much as I thought I would by stopping "Star Wars" figure collecting, because everything else is so much more expensive!

My collecting is extremely selective these days. Vincent Price will make the cut if he is released. Time to sell some blood. ;) ;D
Count Z, I respect anyone who cuts the money flow to George Lucas. Good for you!

What flavor-- I mean, type? Actually, you can't sell blood anymore, just platelets.
I have their Gort & Klaatu set. Very impressive sculpting, design & workmanship. I will definitely get Vinnie and Fu, but whither Blacula? He would look bloody good among my other Vampire figures. thrhrt
Speak of the devil! Blacula will be among us in January 2013.

They should offer them as after-market items. You could buy the figure, then get the heads at another time.

Well---The Shadow got released before Vinney. Any word on a release date and adjusted price for Price yet? Sorry to keep asking....but this is really dragging on. And on. And on..............
I'll try to call them. I don't think their Karloff Fu Manchu is selling. They might be rethinking their expensive 100 piece editions.
Any word Mord? Monsters in Motion sent me an advertisement stating it would be available this week....for $250!!!!!!! If its a $250 figure: I AM OUT. I wouldnt pay that much for a personal meeting with the man's ghost. Much less a glorified Barbie that was advertised at $69.99 >:(

Let it be known, I would gladly pay $250 for a personal meeting with VPs ghost.
Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat; call in the spirits, wherever they're at. Rap on a table; it's time to respond. Send us a message from somewhere beyond. Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween: awaken the spirits with your tambourine. Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond; let there be music, from regions beyond! Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint, by ringing a bell!

Whatever MIM asks for it, it's much more than Exec. Rep. would sell it for directly. And sorry...no, I haven't heard anything.
Well--Monster in Motion sent me an email. $250 is indeed the price. It's $199.99 at Executive's website. They should have them before Thanksgiving. But I just dunno if I can make myself pay that much for it. :'(. Perhaps I will sell some blood and plasma. ;)
I hope he finally comes out. Been waiting a long time, but the Lionheart figure is a bit cheaper and very cool. Got him a month or so ago.

Thats great--- if Blacula is the one for you. After all, his bite is outta sight. One day I might get one. But I have to actually have money to do that, lol. ;D
I have seen a little slideshow on youtube of the ER Vincent Price figure.....but no online retailers (save Monster in motion) are carrying it, and there exist no reviews online either. So---anyone here buy one? Is it actually availsble? Here's the Slideshow---but its slim on details. At 27 seconds, you can see its actually on a shelf with a wood burned display box.

It could also just be one of the prototypes.
I talked to Martin from ER 2 weeks ago and he said both VP and Walking Dead Karloff will be out late April/early May. Keep your fingers crossed.
This thing ever get made and/or purchased by anyone here? I mean...I dunno if I would bother to get one at this time in my collecting life. DD's Theatre of Blood figure and the mego-esques of Vinney are filling the gap just fine. But I would like to know if the thing ever materialized or if it remained a pipe dream.
It probably got scrapped. Maybe Kirk Hammett will come to the rescue?

Ridiculous. Bluewater's first issue and this figure were supposed to be a simultaneous release. Is it really that risky nowadays to actually produce a figure like this? Is there not enough demand? I hate to sound crass---but crap: this thing was promised years ago at $79.99 or some such. Now its $249.99....and he still hasnt moved forward with it? Infuriating. I actually wanted this thing. Yet it has literally been years with no updates. If anyone has one (besides the quick youtube glimpse of what is most likely a prototype on someone's shelf) they sure arent reviewing it or letting anyone know if its actually in hand for purchase or in pre-order hell.
Yet in the same time frame DD has released a whole slew of figures. Including a magnificent VP from Theatre of Blood.
I don't get it. >:(

I'd buy one for the original $80 list price. For $250? Forget it! I guess ER bit off more than they could chew, and the new cost is really a hard sell.
250 bucks is far more than I would be willing to pay. The current prices for Distinctive Dummies' product is at the limit of my price tolerance, and if they weren't such top quality pieces I would pass there too.
Fact is--these were actually produced. In extremely limited numbers. Like--probably less than the 100 they initially announced.
Apparently if you bought them directly from Executive Replicas...they included a small (tin?) card with your name and the number you received engraved on them, as an exclusive "perk". The Bluewater miniature comic was not included in the release, since the comic more or less was cancelled from the time of announcement to release. This information obtained from here:

I still don't know if The Karloff Walking Dead ever saw the light of day. If you are out there, Mord: did Fu Manchu get produced? Maybe Mr. Elleman? I know you were considering Fu awhile back.
Fu definitely saw the light of day a few years ago. Last I talked to Martin (from Exec. Rep.), he said that Fu is still in play (but not available at the moment). It's a ridiculously good piece. Ray Santoleri saw it in person, and gave it his seal of approval. He is very hard to please (considering his sculpting talent).
How about the John Elleman figure? Get produced or sucked into the X-Files? At least when Martin produces figures one has an actual chance at buying them, lol.

None of the others were produced (including Mr. Wong). I think Mord is the most likely to come next (if it hasn't already). Btw, the Black Cat figures were supposed to have a hundred piece run. It was later raised to 200, which explains the surplus.
Oh, yeah....200 figures is possibly a bit much for one of the UNIs that aint Drac, Frank, or Creechie.
Is this the Mord figure you're looking for?

I think my days of spending $200 on a figure are over. I did it for The Black Cat because it's my favorite film. Then I felt stupid when it went down to $75. I'll wait. Maybe they'll lower the price.

Either that...or it will evaporate into the ether with Vincent Price. With less the announced production run being produced.. In this economy, and with nearly no exposure/advertisement/word of mouth....I wonder if they even made 50 of them.

Thanks, Ian, I'm on the fence on this one (mainly because of the price). Maybe I'll sell some things to justify buying it.
Thought it was worth posting as it popped up whilst I was looking at this site and I remembered it being mentioned. Unsure how many they actually made of these although it does state it's a very limited run (who knows what that really means though?!)

It is. But I am confused. The figure was already released once....4 years late from the original solicitation date in 2009. 3 years ago. Supposedly limited to 100, but embarrasingly enough---they never even produce the proposed limited run of 100 figures (according to the whispers in the wind regarding the item).
This new listing has yet another entity/business partner involved and boasts a four color packaging box.
But the first issue was in a wood burned crate, similar to the Black Cat figures, but minus the black and white outer sleeve. I know this part to be factual....and not here say. Picture is worth 1000 words. The website "Sounds of Vincent Price" owner has one of this first runs of the figures, as he showcased it in his blog. Hmmmnnn....? Curious.

I purchased the Exec Replica Fu Manchu a few years back, and it is truly an awesome 1/6th figure. It far exceeds the Black Cat figures, which I thought were done very nicely as well. However, the new Mord and Vinny figures look like they may be the best of the bunch. Cheapest I've seen them for pre-order is Big Bad Toy Store.

That's a fantastic looking box the original one came with and it is also curious as to why this new one is different. looks like you may have the better of the two with that box Anton although just to have the figure is still very cool.

Didn't the original Vincent Price figure include some accessories? This one has nothing outside of the base. The Mord has 3 sets of hands, a medieval axe, dagger, base/stand, AND a very sexy executioner's mask.

All it was originally
supposed to have as an accessory was the Vincent Price Presents comic #1 in miniature form to scale. ...but the miniature comic idea got nixed. Plus the wood burned box. The wood burned box made the cut, lol. If you bought directly from ER, and not Monsters in Motion.....they gave you a metal sheet with an image of Price laser etched into it, with the name of the buyer as well as the # the figure was in the proposed line of 100.

Just got another reply, straight from the source. Solves the whole mystery of Vincent Price figure's release/new release. I am gonna post this in the other thread as well. The two threads could easily be merged though if a mod wanted to. Here we go with the info:
Hi Richard,
It is completely different sculpt.
Outfit is different as well.
Better and time accurate shoes on the mass produced one.
The original was slated to have only 100 production run but only a hand full and I mean a hand full were actually made. Problems with getting the boxes done in the US as well as the outfits.
