Just wanted to tell everyone, have a safe & happy Christmas Eve. My wife and I had the kids this past week and we're taking it easy for the next few days - not going anywhere! Right now, Buddy Hackett is narrating "Jack Frost" on tv in the background. The blinds of our big double windows are up, revealing lots of snow falling outside. Our Christmas Tree & Wreath lights are on & I'm drinking some hazelnut coffee. We have some nice Merlot chilling for later, along with shrimp cocktail, some crackers and a cheeseball - and sugar cookies! I'm on my favorite forum and all is well with the world (well, in my world, anyway). In the wee hours of Christmas morning, I plan to open the package that Rob, the Opera Ghost, sent to me for our UMA exchange.
Peace On Earth - Good Will To All...
Merry Christmas ya big ape. I also will be raising a glass of Burgundy later in honor of my UMA family. Peace be will all tonight and tomorrow.
Sounds like you have a wonderful Christmas Eve planned Mark. Cheers!
We'll celebrate soon with some pizza, then open one gift each, and watch the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol.
Peace and love to all-
Karen
Sounds great Mark!! When I get home after work right around the Witching Hour (that's midnight for all the kiddies out there) I'm going to grab my wife and kiss her under the invisible mistletoe, tell her how much I adore her, then have some eggnog and watch the kids open 1 gift before bed. Then I'm going to recite the Christmas Story from the Book of Luke and remind them WHAT and WHO the Day is really about.
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Sounds like a great evening, Mark. My best to you and everyone here for a safe and happy holiday.
I am so fortunate to know the awesome people of the UMA!! You guys and gals have made so many of my days happier and fuller. I have a swell family that I adore and although it's a small one, I am the oldest person , except for my Dad. And I am very often in charge of EVERYTHING! It's really hard planning every holiday get together and doing most of the cooking, but I am a pretty laid back and I love to have everyone around. The only place I check daily is the UMA and I am not a member of any other site on the internet (except Facebook). There's something so joyous about this site. The love of monsters may bring us all here, but I think we all have a lot of common personality traits as well. I read things you all say, and I hear my own voice! And I've read several times on here that people have said the UMA is so friendly and positive. I wish I was better at expressing my thoughts through writing, but I'm more comfortable just giving hugs!! :) It's been a great year and I hope everyone is healthy this Christmas and as someone else said "I hope we all get lots of monster stuff". Thanks again for all your monster kindness- Charlotte
I just finished two fruitcakes, and two dozen cheddar-jalapeno corn muffins. I also had my annual tradition: NO TV! Just Music. Mannheim-Steamroller Carols, The Nutcracker Suite and the Franz Liszt Opera Transcriptions, played by Leslie Howard.
Sheer Heaven!

I echo Charlotte's sentiments..........and I'm craving Elisabeth's cheddar-jalapeno corn muffins.
I echo (echo - echo - echo - echo, etc) Scatter's comments about Charlotte's sentiments and Elisabeth's cheddar-jalapeno corn muffins.
Mmmmm! Cheddar Jalapeno corn muffins . . . .
Oh, where was I?
Oh yes:
Merry Christmas and a Glethileg Jol to all!
May the blessings of the season be with you and yours.

Amen.
As we worked feverishly to complete our tasks until 330am Christmas morning, you all were in our thoughts.
Really curious about those Cheddar Jalapeno corn muffins !
Just back on the boards today since the 23rd.
I was excited to unwrap my gift from the most Unknown of Primates, and was blown away not only by the generosity, but by also the thoughtfulness and time dedicated to this. I will elaborate more with pictures tomorrow, on the Secret Santa thread.
Christmas Eve was always the main celebration in our family, Christmas Day for my wife. It was also our daughter's first Christmas.
We spent it surrounded by family, food, wine and desserts. Christmas Eve was church, dinner and family time until midnight (my parents, my sister, her twin boys, mother in law). Woke up Christmas morning to our daughter opening her presents, more food, desserts, wine (later) and movies. Boxing Day (my wife's addition as well) was filled with more movies, food, desserts, wine...all in all a great holiday!
I hear you OG, just now catching up!
