Been something missing in the house ever since we lost our last Chow, Tygur but with the girls being so young we were holding off on getting another dog. Just recently we had a chance to get a Bloodhound pup but she was eventually picked up by her owner....well as luck would have it, a pregnant dog, Hannah, was rescued from the side of the road and left with http://www.allpawsrescue.info/ (http://www.allpawsrescue.info/)~

Several weeks after her rescue she had 13 puppies~

..........well when you get the chance to pick from 13 puppies you just gotta take the plunge!
This is Maverick but I think once he's ours we're looking at naming him, either Goliath or Boris~

And this is Olive which may remain her name~

We won't be getting them until after Christmas, the boy next week and the girl in about 2 weeks since they are at different foster homes and neutering/spay is being done at different vets. It's gonna be comforting to have some 4 legged friends running around again...along with our 2 legged ones...LOL!
Just knowing before Christmas that puppies will coming into the home soon is enough to light up the household. The best thing about puppies is that the meat is so much more tender than that of older dogs. (Just kidding) I, myself, an the alpha male pack leader of 2 dogs, Shadow & Scruffy.

They're vicious I tell ya...yeah, right.
Rob
Oh how wonderful! What a nice Christmas present!
They are so cute! Your Cujo's are adorable too, Monsterphile!
I'm so happy for your soon to be new addition to your family ZH! What a sweet thing to do for these loving creatures. :) I've never known the love or loyalty of a dog. We have somehow been a "cat family" for 31 years! Someday I hope to get a doggie, probably an older one, but for now I live with the indifference of my BFF, the cat! He's my BFF but I probably am not as important to him as food, cat toys, blankets, sunny spots, etc. I rank about 28th. Hope you post more pictures when you get your new furry friend !
Charpie, how about posting a picture of you cat? I'd love to see it.
Congratulations on the new canine additions zombiehorror, cute as hell. Besides being loads of fun and love, pets are theraputic and good for your health. Me, I gotz three cats.
And monsterphile, be careful those visious beauties don't rip your hand off at feeding time.
Great pics. They are too cute.
Here's what my dog looks like... He might be a zombie.

Oops! I didn't realize it was that big (actual size of cat)~ That's Caddie (full name- Mad Caddie) wearing a digitally added Santa hat. We have tried putting a real hat on him for 10 years running, but he bites our wrists........so we added one on the computer. He is the Renfield of cats. We got him at a shelter 10 years ago, and treat him like a king! but he still bites us.......oh well- such is life!

You gotta love Cat-itude!
We had to have our 12 year old shepard mix Baby put to sleep today. She had gone senile and was going down hill fast. We wanted to wait until after the holidays, but it would just not have been fair for her. We have had her since she was 4 months old, and we will miss her badly.

We have 3 other dogs-a 10 year old Pharoah Hound mix that came from the streets of Cairo Egypt named Otis

Angel, an 8 month old pit bull my youngest son adopted who is just the sweetest goofiest dog.

and Razzleberry a 15 week old terrier/mini collie mix that I adopted a few weeks ago

Alomg with our own dogs, we are currently fostering 14 puppies for the rescue group we work with as well as several cats as well!
Oh RedKing-I am so sorry for your loss. I have been in that situation a few times when I hated being the decision-making human. I understand how you feel, and I know you did the right thing. We are the caretakers of these beautiful creatures and are lucky to know each one of them. :) Just know that there are more furry friends in your future and that they are all fortunate to have you as part of their family too.
Many of us have been down this unfortunate road with our pets. We had to do the same with our dog, Cosmo last Spring. Why is it they never simply pass away in their sleep, leaving us to have to make these life or death decisions? Sorry for your loss, but it looks like you have your hands full with your other pooches!
Thanks for the condolences guys, I appreciate it a lot.
RedKing, I know how tough that decision is.........but what a beautiful life you gave Baby!! Who knows how she may have been mistreated or neglected without your care?? You sent her off on the next leg of her journey loved, nurtured, and happy. That's something to be treasured even in the midst of your loss.
My condolences RedKing, we've had to put down both our Chows (Soki & Tygur) as well as our cat, Ramses within the past 4 years. Never a fun thing but can sometimes be a good/humane thing to do for our furry loved ones.
In happier news the puppies are doing great, the girls are loving them and they are doing so-so with potty training....the puppies that is not the girls....although they also did so-so with potty training!
Here's Samantha with Bela~

A little commentary on the names; I had nothing to do with the "Boris & Bela" reference. My wife came up with both names and of course I am overjoyed to know that my monster ways have affected her so deeply or at the very least embedded so far into her subconscious that she would come up with those names! Although she has already had people ask her if Bella is named after the girl from Twilight......Grrrr....Argh!! She
Beautiful pictures ZH! You are lucky to live in a house full of fun! :) All the youngsters (puppies and humans) are adorable! And that is one fancy looking cat you have there as well.
Cool pics ZH!!
Post more pictures of Toffee.
MMMMMM Korean BBQ!

If the gangster you refer to is Jabba the Hutt then yes she is very gangster!
This is actually a very flattering shot of her, her body is much bigger and her head is much smaller than it appears in this picture...LOL!

Not sure if I shared the below image of her before? The whole reason we got Toffee some 10 years ago was my wife was so jealous of my cat, Ramses, who was always up my butt and kept her awake at night with his purring as he lay by my side/head. Well wouldn't you know it she got a cat that want's little to nothing to do with humans. She very rarely comes out and it seems like you are inconveniencing her most of the time when you try to pet her. Also she likes to lick when she enjoys your petting, which of course my wife can't stand the feel of a cat's tongue so she usually points Toffee's head at my arm. I found it very humorous around Halloween when she chose my skeleton as her human companion. I can just imagine her thinking, "This guy is the perfect companion, he just sits there letting me use his lap and he feels no need to touch me with his dirty-human hands."

Toffee is awesome!! Thanks ZH- that furry face made my day! I also have an antisocial cat that lets you pet him 5 or 6 times before he starts the uncomfortable hand licking-ewww. And I love the skeleton picture :)
My Jack Russell terrier, Jack, was suffering "non-infectious mild meningitis", but then I realized he probably just needed a battery change!

Are you kidding me Therin?? Hahahaha!! That is hilarious :) He has a little battery compartment like an Imaginext toy! Sooooo cute- I'm gonna check my cat to see if he has any cute accessory patterns, but I don't think he would let me hold him in that position .......ever! Awesome pictures!

He had to have the square of fur shaved for a lumbar puncture, and tummy shaved for ultrasound - but because he's on cortisone tablets for the meningitis, the fur refuses to grow back. It's been about three months of treatment in total. Almost completed the course now, thank God. It's been very traumatic.
Oh! Poor little buddy! :( What a trooper. I'm sorry to hear about his rough go of it, Therin. He is lucky to have a caring human friend like you. And you are a trooper as well, I can't imagine going through such a trauma with my furry friend. Well, no wonder he trusts you to replace his batteries! :) He'll be forever in my heart now!
