I'll always be a die hard Sox fan but how could you not love Ron Santo.  He so deserved and desired to be in H.O.F. and I'm sad it didn't happen in his lifetime.  R.I.P. Ron.

My brothers and I were big Cubs fans in the 60s/70s, and Ron Santo was especially a favorite of my youngest bro.

As a funny sidenote, Ron Santo opened a pizzeria about 5 miles from our house. It was small and neat and clean and had a huge lifesize translite (is that what they're called?) that was a head to toe painting of Ron in his Cubs uniform. It was really cool to eat Ron Santo pizza while staring at a glowing, faux stain-glassed Ron Santo.

RIP Mr. Santo.

Ron was a childhood hero. I had a Ron Santo glove in pee wee league and the summer afternoons watching the 60's early 70's Cubs with that great line up , eating popcorn and drinking Cokes were some fun times. Ron should be in the Hall of Fame already.
