Today, Dec 3, is a day that the monster world lost a memorible character. Ms. Maria Ouspenskaya died on this day in 1949. She is best known for her role as the old gypsy woman in the Wolfman, and Frankenstein meets the Wolfman.

I also like her in TARZAN AND THE AMAZONS with the great Weissmuller, and in THE RAINS CAME (1939), in which she played an Indian maharani. One of her plum roles of all time.
I ADORE "Madame"! BEYOND TOMORROW and THE RAINS CAME are my two non Maleva favourite parts.
