Nancy's grandmother, 90 year old Ana Ortega, passed away at 10:15 AM today after a brief illness. Known to her family as Wela, she was the hub around which the entire family revolved. Strong as an ox and sharp as a tack for all her 90 years, her good works, irreverent wit, and irrepressible personality will be deeply missed by all.
Nancy and Jordan are of course heartbroken, but upheld by their faith in Christ.
"We shall meet, but we shall miss her, there will be one vacant chair;
We shall linger to caress her when we breathe our evening prayer."
Our sympathies go out to your family, Scatter and Nancy.
Very pleased to see the old George Root song quoted, too--a very touching sentiment that dates from Civil War days.
My positive thoughts and energies go out to you and yours.
So sorry to hear this, Gary....Wonderful that she enjoyed a long, healthy life and is so loved by her family. Great also that your kids had such a strong connection with her. Cherished memories they'll have for the rest of their lives and to pass onto their children one day. Peace to her and comfort to you and your family.
So sorry to hear Scatter. We shall continue to keep you and your family in our prayers during this emotional time.
*whistles "will the circle be unbroken?"* I know how you feel. My grandmother passed away earlier this year. 95 years old.
Sorry to hear of this, Gary.
Prayers, positive vibes & wishes for inner peace sent to you & your beautiful family.
