When I was a teen, the Big Red Machine was rolling through Cincinnati. At the helm was Captain Hook himself, Sparky Anderson. He passed away today at the age of 76.
RIP Sparky!!!
So sad, RIP Sparky and thanks for the 1984 World Championship you brought to Detroit and being so good to us fans.

Awwww.....I just heard about hospice yesterday, so I knew the end was not far behind. He was a fave of mine back in the 70s
Another memorable personality from my youth--and as I grew up near Cincinnati, Sparky and the Reds were always important to my friends and family. R.I.P. Sparky. "Headed for home" at last!
I haven't followed MLB as much as I followed the Reds in the 70's. Lots of memories of Sparky, Rose, Bench, etc.
