Title: THE PUMPKIN MAN!
Post by: Monsternutt on November 03, 2010, 05:02:46 PM
Well here he is, "THE PUMPKIN MAN"! This is the costume my wife and I came up with for Halloween. I won 1st place in one contest and finished in the top ten in 2 other. You should have seen the reactions I was getting, Priceless. Just seeing people smile and run away sometimes,LOL, was worth it.  So what do you think? I really want to know what my fellow UMA brothers and sisters think about it.  >:D

having a natural fondness for jack-o-lanterns, I love this costume. Unique, whimsical and yet terrifying all in a swoop.

I'm a big fan of evil pumpkins. If I'm not mistaken that mask is Pumpkin Rot combined with Tree Witch Hands. I have the hands attached to a half body evil scarecrow called Mr. Grim. Don't have That mask but have a few others.  Your costume is well put together but highly nonfunctional at a party. Glad ya had a great time and scared some people. That's half the fun of Halloween. Wondering how you were able to see. Most of the cool masks nowadays make vision whilst walking a chore and are really for display. The hands are a bit of a bitch getting on and off. Did you use talc powder? If you do this one again next year you may want to wear this mask instead. I own 2 of them. One for show and one for wear. Vision wise it is so good I was chasing kids down the street last year. >:D

Awesome Monsternutt! Even the photo looks amazing! Whoever took this picture knew what they were doing, everything looks so beautifully framed. That costume will be hard to top next year  :)  I also love evil pumpkin faces- this is kinda eesy compared to your level of craftsmanship, but I buy those cheap happy $5 scarecrows and rip off their heads and replace them with my evil pumpkins that I've had for years- and finally, I put hanger wire along the shoulders to pose the cornstalk arms in more menacing positions.  It's an easy yard filler!  The Pumpkin Man is the true King of Halloween, and I hope to someday see your Pumpkin Castle!  Next Project!

Very classic in a creepy pumpkin way.  And scary like no other scarecrow I can think of!

I have one of those as well. Pumpkin Rot mask is very hard to see out of, but it was worth wearing it. And yes I use powder for the hands. They worked great, only down side was could not hold my LONG ISLAND! LOL. I had so many people staring me it was great. Going next year as Jeepers Creepers. Already started on it. Boy, I'm a big kid. >:D

Not to hijack your thread Bro. Just showing how I used these hands. BTW pay no attention to the date. Halloween 08.

I goggled "tree witch hands" and couldn't locate them anywhere. re they something older and no longer available?

(I'm actually searching for left and right forearm/hands for making a Ghostbusters slimer.)

I looked at what local halloween offerings we had here, but it was slim pickings, with nothing really fitting the bill properly.
