Anyone else try making Rice Krispie treats with the monster cereals? I'd thought about trying it for awhile and actually looked it up this year, not surprisingly others have already beat me to it. Finally tried it for the first time this year and......it's AWESOME!! Really reminds me of the way the monster cereals tasted when they were actually sugar coated!
I've only tried Frankenberry so far but I still have a box of Boo Berry waiting in the wings...also before anyone asks where to get your monster cereal check Target....LOL!

Been meaning to post about this for awhile this pic is actually from about 3 weeks ago.
Monster Cereal Bars
3 tbsp butter, melted
1 10-oz package marshmallows
1 box (7 cups) Frankenberry, Boo Berry or Count Chocula Cereal
sounds frightfully delicious!
That'll teach General Mills to go all "Whole Grain" with their cereals . . . nothing that tons of animal fat won't fix!
Now I'm hungry......
Thank you soooooo much for the idea/recipe! We will make them tomorrow, assuming I can wrestle the FrankenBerry away from husband.
I was reminded of this thread this weekend when low and behold I found my first sighting of the monster cereals this year at Shop N Save!!! Was really expecting to find these at Target by now but no such luck, Josephyne as been asking and asking about them as of late so it was really cool to turn the corner and run into an endcap full of monstery goodness! Not sure if I'm going to try the bars again this year but figured I'd post in this topic in case others want to try it...maybe give the kids/grandkids an idea of what monster cereals should taste like...LOL!
Oooooooooohhhhhhh....... Duuuuuuuuuuuude....... I want a tray of each....
Yummmmm!
Great idea! I need to go get some Count Chocula now!

What's this margarine you speak of....LOL!
I checked a couple of Targets today.....no Chocula- but I'm going to check some Walgreen's tomorrow! I'm coming for you, my precious chocolate friend!!!!
And then, we will try to make cereal bars......yum!

OMGosh! Count Chocula Krispie squares! All you have to do now is serve it with a scoop iice cream, some chocolate syrup and a dollop of whipped cream! :D
Gonna try this recipe. They has all three cereals at walgreens this evening.
Way cool, I can't believe I never thought of this before!! Awesome idea !!
beep..beep..beep......this just in- I have checked 2 Walgreens and 3 Target store and sadly...no Chocula. BUT, I asked an employee at the 3rd Target and he said that they would be getting the monster cereals soon! :) Oh, and I checked a Walmart and all they had was Cookie Crispies with a Wolf on the box?? I don't know what that's about!
But I'm holding up pretty well, and when I finally am reunited with my Chocula....it will be all the sweeter.
Yea walgreens has em for 3 dollars a box right now.
I picked up a box of Count Chocula at Target this weekend. BUT...I dug into it and have had it for breakfast three times already, so I don't think I'll be using this box to make treats! I haven't had this cereal in years...forgot how good it is!
I'm so gonna make that this weekend!!!! Great Idea, Thanks For Posting! >:D
Moonshadow- I can hardly stand the wait! Chocula has that crisp cocoa taste that no other cereal posesses....and the Count is on the front of the box looking all handsome! :) I must travel to the Alabama border this weekend and see if they have any. I'm afraid that the longer I can't find it, the more crazed I'll be when I happen upon it! I'll fill up the cart and hoard it! hahahaha!!!

Charpie, I don't wanna read some news report about "Crazed woman assaults other customers over Count Chocula" or something like that!! Keep it together, woman!! ;D
I understand......I have also envisioned myself throwing a brick through a store window at night, because I saw my Chocula inside and the store was closed.....shiver..
I know it's out there and I have patience. But there's a chance that you may read a news report of a woman hospitalized with Chocula poisoning after I binge on it!
My husband likes Frankenberry, but I find it too sweet. I usually only eat a couple bites and go back to my precious. Frankenberry is adorable, but that pink color hurts my eyes after 15 minutes.
I freakin' love those monster cereals. It's been years, though. I had a box of Boo-Berry a couple years back, what an experience. A ghost blue cereal! Its mascot is a GHOST! It is just too freakin' cool.
Finally tried the Franken Treats !! Man those things are pretty damn good !! I would of never thought of making them without this thread.
You guys can still get Frankenberry and Count Chocula? I haven't seen them in stores for years. Hey, BooBerry, either.

Same here, though I haven't tried Wally-world (Walmart). There seems to be an irrational bias against monster-themed cereals in there parts!! >:(
I finally found my monster cereals tonight at SuperTarget! It is 22 miles from my house, but it was worth the drive. I grabbed a box and ran up the stairs and poured myself a Vintage 2011- bowl of happiness! It was everything I imagined it would be....crispy and cocoa infused, and loaded with marshmallow sweeties. I can now move on with my life. Sure, another bowl would be delicious- but it is not necessary. I am satisfied with my Chocula experience. I bought 2 of each box, so I can serve it to my out of town guests after my Halloween party. And I plan on making cereal bars with my grandson. :) I think we'll make the Frankenberry Bars- they look appealing!

I am glad common sense prevailed and there was no mayhem at the SuperTarget.
