You betcha I'm going this year!! This will be my 3rd year and I plan on bringing Mrs. Hendry for her 1st MB. Ron Adams and his crew always put on a great show and this year one of the highlights is a huge exhibit dedicated to Vincent Price. They will also be running a drive in style movie experience,showing House On Haunted Hill. Looking forward to making new friends from UMA and renewing old aquaintances. :) :) :D ;D
I very much hope to attend this year, but I certainly can't say one way or another quite yet.
I'm should be there unless finances change. Looking forward to meeting fellow UMA members.

Until 2009 when MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT LIVE! is held in Baltimore, MD. We just announced our first two guests, Donnie Dunagan (
Son of Frankenstein and
Tower of London) and Ann Carter (

I know that, and I hope the MFTV Con isn't the only new CLASSIC convention, as there are plenty of MODERN conventions and too few CLASSIC coventions. I'd like to see that change before there's no one left from the 30s (which there is hardly now), 40s, and 50s to have as guests. Look forward to seeing you and your mate at Monster Bash, Wonderfest, and the MFTV Con!

I didn't see an official thread, so I thought I'd start one.
Who all is going to be there? I am. It will be my first ever. I'm sure most of you have been in attendance many years. So, is it as cool as I imagine?

Andy, its very cool! Its a thrill to walk around the corner and run into someone dressed as frankenstein or some other monster. Spending the whole weekend watching monster movies, greeting the stars of some wonderful films and enjoying the company of those who have the same love for these wonderful creatures can be exciting. You'll be making wonderful friends for a life time. Also I love shopping for things that you just can't pick up at walmart like creepy monster things and books that are hard to find. You'll have a creepy time!!
Monster Bash is indeed great fun. I hope to be there again, not positive yet.
My cousin Sara/vpdogjoe and I, and likely friend Jill/ghoulchick will be there if all goes as planned. It IS fun--to walk around the corner and run into--MISS DRAC, for instance! Her, and a hundred other interesting folks, fans and celebrities alike. There is never enough time to see all, hear all, do all--a truly good con is a wonderful thing, and the Bash has always been a truly good one. I have strong expectations that the MFTV con, when it gets under way, will be strong competition for it, too.

Wow. All of the special guests that I was looking forward to meeting (Pat Priest, Ken Weatherwax, and Lisa Loring) have all been removed from the list. This is truly disappointing.

They've been removed from the guest list and their activities have also been removed. So far, no announcement about their removal though. Looks like Felix Silla (Cousin Itt) is still on though.
I regret it that I will be unable to go due to finances. I just canceled my hotel reservation. Hopefully I'll be able to meet all of you down the road.

I think it would be great to see a gathering of UMA members, who at a designated time, would convene for official greetings including a photo shoot. Wish I could be there to do so myself, but unfortunately finances and other demands won't allow for it. Who would like to take on the role as "acting General" at the Bash? Don't all jump at once.

I was getting borderline mad when I saw that three of the five people I really wanted to meet (Pat Priest, Ken Weatherwax, and Lisa Loring) had been removed from the guest list. But now Pat's back, Donnie Dunagan and Bill Diamond have been added, and Jackie...well, Jackie's just great. I can't wait to finally meet all of them! I'm EXCITED again!

Alas and a lack I won't be bashing this year - at least in Butler...I've had a rough Spring -(waa alert) first my oldest daughter had pacreatitis and was in the hospital for a week, next my wife ends up having her adrenal gland flipping out, the BP goes off the charts and ends up undergoing a SPINAL TAP, 2 MRIs, an ECG and a CT scan, round the clock urine collection and every kind of pill and shot known to medicine. Then my Mother-in-law comes to stay with us for a month to help out...nuff said about that...then Clara busts her arm!!! Hey I'm a tough cookie but now that things are settling down my car is packed and I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the North woods, all by myself, just me and my tent, fishing gear, a stack of comics to read by flashlight and my Macbook. I know a place to camp where I can tap into some AC but it's still in a spooky woods on a lake and I am bringing a bunch of scary movies to watch in my tent at night. Including my Legacy collections. Frankenstein, The Creature and the rest will be my "Monster Bash" this year! I will miss you all and who knows - maybe Wonderfest? - but for right now I need a campfire, Aurora Borealis, a case of Dinty Moore AND TO BE SCARED BACK INTO BEING A KID AGAIN! Even at 54 sometimes this grown-up stuff is for the birds - cuckoo - sorry for the long post see you next week my friends

So glad you liked the images I picked for my car sign. Yes, Elsa is a showstopper in that one. This is the biggest I can make this image before it goes fuzzy.

I'm not sure where I picked it up. I found the image on the internet and couldn't resist saving a copy. It is particularly lovely. If anyone runs across it in the show at a photo sellers table, please tell me. I'd LOVE to find it in hard copy. I can't say if it is doctored or not. It's a pretty good job if it is. I like the stitching on her arms, legs and chest. My car magnet sign also has the Karloff with the tea cup photo I like. The Bride and Monster couple photo is good too, especially with the art deco background for that one. I needed to fill that little space and picked the Universal stars image. I decided to stay with images that weren't part of the actual films (except for the globe). It adds a more personalized touch.
I'm definitely a classic Universal fan and a BIG Karloff aficionado.
I'll be wearing my "Simple Wellness Acupuncture" tshirt to Monster Bash with an Hawaiian shirt over top which seems to in vogue there. I'm thinking of asking someone to modify the t-shirt image to add Bride hair to her. I think that would be great to wear to the horror film festivals to advertise my acupuncture practice. But I won't have it in time for the Bash

I created the car magnet, and the t-shirt for that matter, at the vistaprint website. I'd recommend you use their current sale at www.vistaprint.com/springmini. Some of their stuff is free with shipping being the only cost, though you do have to pay once to upload an image to use. Once you upload it, you can use it multiple times without any additional upload cost. So you could all creat your own "going to the show" car magnet.

Got in this morning, checked into the show, and almost immediately met Maj. Dunnegan. He seems quite the guy! Also, saw Elizabeth Sheppard, Jackie Joseph and Susan Gordan arriving or milling with fans already.
And I have happily replaced my lost copy of "Legend of Boggy Creek." So goals # 1 and 2 achieved!!! ;D Looking forward to Bashing it up! Next event for me and the wife, the Donna Douglas events.

I was making my daily perusal of the Creepy Classics website when I saw that Ron Adams had just posted his photo gallery for the 2008 Monster Bash and lo and behold, there were two great pictureds of Rob. Holy cow...I went to the Monster Bash site and that con looks awesome! It reminds me of the old sci-fi cons I used to attend back in the late 70s/early 80s, which were mostly for fans, by fans. So, please - tell me about Monster Bash!! What is it like? And how cool is the drive-in theater night?! Zombie In Luv

I've been to the Monster Bash twice (2008 & 2009). It's laid back and very family-friendly. There's plenty of movies and presentations. The best thing is to sit around and hang out with fellow fans of the classics of horror and SciFi.

I'm trying to convince a good friend of mine that we should go (my S.O. has no interest sadly). We've both decided not to go to the San Diego Comic Con this year, and even with cross-country air fair, I think Monster Bash would be much cheaper! Plus, I like the smaller, more personal feel it seems to have. It also looks like attendees have pretty good access to the guests - is this true?
