Good eveing everyone! I just wanted to take the time to tell you about a campaign fund raiser I am creating over at Indiegogo. The campaign is called " Fuel The Dream " This campaign is to help further my education so to speak and to help my art career. The main reason for the campaign is to help me with funds to help pay off my tattoo apprenticeship " schooling " I have been accepted into a tattoo shop in town called Soulfire Tattoos. All I have to do now is sign the contracts and pay off the $4000 for the schooling so to say which will be done right at the shop, I will be getting taught the proper and safe way to create tattoos that people will love. The other $1500 will be divided up to my other art porjects and new and better supplies.
It has been my dream since I was 14 to become a tattoo artist and I am now finally taking the proper steps needed to fullfill my dream. I think my artwork is at the best stage it has ever been at and my general confidence an excitement to learn is at an all time high. I think this shop would be a great thing for me,and I think it would be a great career path for me too.
Now of course there are a lot of cool perks to donating money to help me with this. All the perks are art related, ranging from differnet sizes and such. Whats better then helping with a good cause and getting some custom one of a kind original hand drawn artwork. Also for everyone that donates thay are the ones that get to pick what I draw! So it's not some thing like you donate money and I randomly draw something, you get to give me your idea for the piece what ever it might be and I create it for you!
Now if I did happen to meet my goal and make extra money, that money would go towards, a new bigger scanner, art supplies and stuff along those lines. Some of the money would go towards my two new sketch books. One which will be a horror movie tribute sketch book, while the other will be all costum tattoo flash art! Who knows maybe I'll even throw in some finished books to some people who donate a lot! I also have a novel in the works so I would love to be able to get a good editor lined up to go over that too, to check over everything for me, but all funding first will be going towards the apprenticeship while the extra money will either go to one other porject or be divided up depending.
I hope you all will take the time to spread the word about this, the more the better, it really is for a good cause! I just want to be able to make the best tattoos and artwork possible for everyone.
Here is a link to the campaign over at Indiegogo

here's a new tattoo sketch that I worked up early today, it's not done yet, but this is what it looks like so far, Strenght in Chinese at the top of the piece and Courage symbol at the bottom of the piece. Might do some more work to the rose and out around the piece to make it flow more.
I now have artwork up on FANGO ART(3 pieces up so far) over at Fangoria! go check it out and vote for it too!
http://www.fangoria.com/index.php?view=detail&id=11&option=com_joomgallery&Itemid=257#joomimg (http://www.fangoria.com/index.php?view=detail&id=11&option=com_joomgallery&Itemid=257#joomimg)
here's a small picture of my second Sketch Card, I tried something differnet with this one, and i'm much happier with this one, the scan is still not the greatest but I think it's much better then the first Sketch Card,I'm thinking about taking pictures of the cards with a camera later on,they might look better that way, just have to wait and see I guess haha, so I think i'm going to stick with this technique that I used and work on mastering that, rather then colouring the whole piece.
I personally think black and grey looks better then fully coloured but that's just how I am. Hope you guys like it!
Next Sketch card will be of Tiffany from Bride Of Chucky!
Oh- that Baby is a beauty! Red is an eyepoppingly good choice with Chucky! It looks so nice with the gray, and I can imagine what a lovely couple he and Tiffany will look like displayed together :) I think I prefer the coloring on your drawing of Chucky rather than a full color illustration! I've never looked at his image in b&w before, it's so much more spooky and not so jolly looking! Very Cool, TypH!

Thank you very much for the kind words! I'm very happy to see you like the new sketch card alot, i'm so happy I picked red for the background, I was going to use a dark blue but changed my mind, and I'm the same as you I prefer the bit of colour and bacl and greys to full coloured pieces. I just find with just simple colours and good shading it can do a great amount for the look of a piece, I also feel that it as to the spookyness of the piece, has a somewhat vintage feel to it I guess.
I like it, too, TypH - Something about the contrast that just makes it stand out more. I agree with charp13 about it looking spookier that way - GREAT job! Congrats on the Fango pics, too!

Thanks Primate, glad to see your liking it alot too!, yeah I feel the same way about it,and i'm glad you both think it looks sppokier that way, because sppokier is better to me so, and thank you very much! hopefully get some pics in the actually magazine, that would be sweet! >:D
NEW SKETCH CARD! Tiffany from Bride Of Chucky/Seed Of Chucky...I think it turned out good, still working on differnet greys, I'm going to try differnet colours for the backgrounds for every sketch card so far I really like the red one the most haha.
This was alot of fun to do though, my first time every drawing her so, might do more in the future! as for my next sketch card will just have to wait and see! The purple background didn't come out as solid as I would have liked but I went over it 4 differnet time's but oh well I think it still looks good!

haha watch out she'll give you the ride of your life, and then chop you into pieces >:D
Here's a quick sketch card I did last night just for fun, it's a one of a kind based off of my lovely other half, it was late and I was half asleep so I somewhat slacked off on it, I might go back and add more to it later on,just have to wait and see I guess haha.
New Sketch Card! The Creature From The Black Lagoon! I have always been a huge fan of this movie, just never got around to doing artwork based off it, i'm happy that I finally could do a piece of artwork based off of this Classic, might do some more of the Creature in the future! hope you guys and gals like the new sketch card!
NEW SKETCH CARD: Here's my Billy Van from The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein tv series. Always enjoyed the show it's a fun watch, I tried a new marker for the background, the finished colour dried alot darker then I was hoping but oh well. Hope you guys like it!
NEW SKETCH CARD: Sam Winchester from one of my favourite tv series SUPERNATURAL! actually worked on this while watching the first episode of the new season haha, I plan on doing one for Dean and maybe Booby too and maybe some other characters later on.
Hope you guys dig it!

NEW SKETCH CARD! and the first in my montly series of horror pieces for OCTOBER! i'm a bit behind was gone on the weekend, working up two more to get back on track!
Some things have come up but i'm still going to try to do a card at least once a day for the entire month!
this one for those of you who don't know(and shame on you guys) is based off of Jason Voorhees a very iconic image I think...Hope you guys like it!
NEW SKETCH CARD:
This is only my 3rd time ever drawing Freddy, my first one was more of the new version of Freddy and my 2nd one was just a small picture of him in my horror banner so. This one is based off of the classic version of Freddy, so I'm hoping I did him justice.
Hope you guys dig it!
two NEW SKETCH CARDS!:
the first new sketch card is based off of Wes Craven's SCREAM series. I enjoyed the first movie alot, I haven't seen the new one yet but I found after the first one they went down hill to me. Ghostface is a decent character but nothing strikes me as him being a horror icon, but I still wanted to draw him anyways haha.
The next card is based off of Sid Haig from Rob Zombie's House Of 1000 Corpses. I actually enjoyed this movie alot, and to be honest with you I enjoy alot of Zombie's movies, yes even his two Halloween remakes, i'm not going to say they are better then the original, but to me they arn't as bad as people make them out to be.

thanks Primate, glad your liking the new stuff, i'll be posting more often now, working on a crap load more!
here are some new pieces, first off here's a side by side image rough and finished pencils, of a tattoo sketch for a friend, it's influenced by old Sailor Jerry art, tattooed pin-up girl!
next is the Rue-Morgue Radio Crew piece inked and then one coloured for fun, I will more then likely go back and work on the colours, they were done with basic Prisma pencil crayons, which I don't ever use much so.
Critters image, first is the side by side image with the rough quick sketch of the piece side by side with the finished pencils.

Ahh! I love those Critters! Great job TypH :) I really enjoy seeing the larger views of your drawings. When I look at them on Facebook, they are too small for my over-the-counter reading glasses to see- hahahahaha!! I'm getting older, so I need the big views! Facebook is for young people, I guess. But I really do enjoy your art, so I'll get some stronger glasses. Your Robert Englund drawing is outstanding! Thanks for sharing your artwork with us.

the rough sketch of Brice side by side with the finished pencils.

Now here's something that is a first for me,i picked up a few warm grey pismacolour markers yesterday 20% & 30%warm grey, never used them before so been playing around with them, hoping to get better with practice, also picked up a white marker to.
Here are the finished pencils for my piece based off of Candice Collier, still planning on doing more to this piece later tonight.
here is a picture of the quick rough sketch side by side with the finished pencils for now.
here is a image of the final piece for my Candice Collier drawing, done with steadtler black ink,and I used my prismacolour 20% and 30% warm grey markers along with a white marker.
and here's the finished piece beside my original quick rough sketch drawing,

it's new art time!
Here are the finished pencils for my tribute piece to my all time favourite zombie Bill Hinzman, you will be dearly missed, wish I could have meet you would have been an honor!
here's the original rough sketch side by side with the finished pencils.
now onto having some fun with my grey tone prisma colour markers, this should be a blast!
here's the final product for my tribute to Bill Hinzman from Night Of The Living Dead:1968The scan doesn't seem to be showing a lot of the 20% Warm Grey Shades, at least I personally don't think it does.I will take a better picture of this piece monday while at work. Hope you folks like it!
Done with 20% and 30% Warm Grey Prismacolours, black steadtler and sharpie marker and a white ink for highlights.
here is what i think is a better shot of my image of Bill Hinzman from the original Night Of The Living Dead 1968, this picture is of course taken by the camera, I find with a camera shot you can see more shading then with the scan.
a before and after kind of shot, the first image is my 2010 tribute to Bill Hinzman and the other image is my present day tribute to Bill, just a difference in my style one's more "cartoony" with more faceial detail while the other is more realistic with more shading.
here's a work in progress, this is my John Carpenter tribute/montage piece, still have a ton of work to do on this one, still a crap load to do to the pencils, not sure if i'm going to leave the top left corner blank or if I will add another character to this piece, have to wait and see, hope you guys dig it so far!
Wow, very nice! That face in the middle baring it's fangs is especially well-done! Is it going to remain a penciled piece or are you going to develop it into full color? It looks great!!

thanks man, glad you like it a lot, means a lot coming from a artist such as yourself, I'm going to add some inks to this piece and go over it with some warm grey prismacolours, as for fully coloured I doubt that will happen haha.

Your Lloyd Kaufman drawing really captures the twinkle in his eyes! Troma entertainment has kept my spirit alive for many years, so I appreciate your tribute to him. And I don't care what anyone says...ButtCrack is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen!
Davey Jones looks wonderful!! I kept thinking of that water mist screen they used to have at the Magic Kingdom that said "Dead men tell no tales". Your artwork really brings out the characters! :)

sorry for the delay in new stuff folks, it's been a messed up past few weeks, first off to start things off one night our new people in the apartment decided to get drunk and end up fighting and pulling the fire alarm at 2:45 in the morning which ending up in me not getting back to sleep again, then that following Saturday I came home from work to find out that someone else had broken into our apartment, the thing is they had something stashed in the attic and they had a key for our apartment, went to the supervisour and our landlord only to be told they would change the locks sometime next week, pissed off I went to change the lock myself, now my g.f is stressed out with school and having someone breaking in, so I have been taking care of her and our new kitten, but enough of the yapping and onto new images.
here are some new rough quick sketches.

time for some new artwork folks, first off the bat, here is a piece I started based off of Opie from Sons Of Anarchy, I started to not like the piece so I just roughly finished it for the hell of it instead of throwing it out.

Here is the new piece I create up for Opie from the Sons Of Anarchy tv show, much happier with how this one turned out.

next here is something I have never done before, here are two pictures front and side shot of a rough clay model I made for fun, this was made with some cheap Selectum Modeling Clay from a local dollar store, I figured no need to buy expensive stuff if I have never done this sort of thing before.I also only used my bare hands for this one no tools were used, but I am looking into getting some modeling tools because I enjoyed doing this a lot so I am planning on working in this field some more when I can.

Maximum Overdrive! YESSS! That looks so good! Of course I now want to watch the movie.....but I just got rid of Netflix AND I don't have a copy of it- oh well, I must find it NOW! :) You did a great job on that iconic scene. I don't know a lot of the tv actors/characters you draw, but I love the Dennis Weaver! Very cool 70s vibe drawing :)
here is the finished piece for my tribute to Opie from the Sons Of Anarchy tv series, very happy with how this one turned out he was a blast to draw!

new piece I've been working on today, started out with the inks and no pencil shading and just added the shading where ever I thought it would look good, I usually do all the shading first in pencil but I tried this way out just to save me a couple hours with the shading. This is a 8.5' x 11' piece based off of This Island Earth, Mutant...now onto the greys and maybe some color.

thank you very much glad to see you like my artwork, and oh really? well that's pretty cool!pass on my drawing then to her ;)
Wow, really great work. I wis I had a quarter of your talent, this stuff is amazing!!
On average, how long does a sketch take you with pencils and ink?
thank you very much for the kind words, it comes with a lot of hard work and time :)
for sketches it all depends on the size, the new one i'm working on This Island Earth Mutant, I've only got maybe 2 and half hours into it it's only a 8.5' by 11 though, so if i'm doing a 14' x 17' it takes alot longer and it all depends on how much detail or how much shading the piece has as well, a lot of small detail and shading takes more time.
here's the finished piece for my This Island Earth Mutant...there's going to be more 8.5' x 11' pieces coming soon and maybe I will let them go for cheap if there's a demand for them.

my 8th painting, and my first horror one, a tribute to the poster Gary Pullin made for Texas Fightmare Weekend, when i first saw his image I knew I wanted to do something like it, it brought two of my favorite horror movies together.
So here is my re-creation of his design. it's a 16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas there is a bit of a shin in this picture, you can see the blood better in person i find as well.

the next sketch card is of the best crypt keeper ever...Tales From The Crypt!
The last piece today is a work in progress, a 9" x 12" piece based off of GHOULIES trying something new with this one, I use to always spend hours in the pencil stage because I was never sure when I would be able to ink the piece or if I ever would be able to ink the page, the way i have done this piece I just did up some rough loose lines and then tighten them up in the inks and added the detail in the ink stage as I am going. So hope you folks like it so far!

here is the scan for my first ever Galactus image...it's a 14 x 17 haven't done something this size in awhile.
scanned the top and bottom separately, both pieces were put together by britt...it's a tad bit pixelated when printed out, but I am very happy with it!
this is also a tribute to a comic book page a sort of recreation as you would say, also it looks much better in person i find, but that with every piece.

So last but not least, I take no credit, or ownership over any character here, it's all fan art..I don't want to run into the same issue I had with my 'Garfield" fan art piece, I don't need any nasty e-mails about me trying to steal a character, so thanks. Don't sue me haha.
come one come all, check out my first ever Test Animation!

Man! You've been busy. Everything looks so spirited! :)
I am a sucker for food humor! Talking food always cracks me up- and I've noticed that my grandson also finds it incredibly funny (genetic...maybe?). Anyway- I actually recognize most of your subjects- even though I'm old (well, medium-old), and I know who Kirby is because I hang out with an 8 year old BFF, but I don't know who Bowser is.....hmmm
It must be really difficult to do a self portrait! But it looks so fulfilling! I would love to be able to objectively draw myself (if I were artistic), because it would be exactly the way I want to see myself instead of some weird facial expression that another artist might choose. That's why I will NEVER get a caricature done! I am always so afraid that the artist would select a horrible trait and exaggerate it and make me have lower self esteem than I already have. HA! Everyone in my family has had a caricature drawn, but I'll go to my grave without one.
In conclusion....I am not right in the head, and I hope I haven't offended you if you are a caricature artist on the side.
first up is just a fun color sketch I did of one of my favorite TMNT dumb baddies. Bebop!
next up is a work in progress. a redesign of my Angry Toast character.

Hey buddy, glad to see you back around here. Glad to see you are liking all my newest pieces. I am working my butt off to try and get into college for animation so :). Glad to see you know who Kirby is, as for Bowser. He is the main bad guy from Mario. Shame on you for not know him haha just kidding. As for the self portrait I just hate drawing myself and looking at my own pictures haha; but I can kind of understand how you feel. I have done a few caricatures but I just never really got into doing them so no insults at all; and we are all a bit not right in the head. So you are not alone haha.
Bucky O'Hare fun sketch, I use to love watching this cartoon when I was a kid.

I'm just curious what ever thinks so far for my first two attempts. I am trying to go for a more painted look right now.

this piece took me about 4 days, probably a total of 10 hours give or take.
So seeing I have started a large Godzilla drawing as well as a large Sons Of Anarchy drawing. I wanted to take a break from those two and work on something small to show you guys.
This is a 8.5'x10' piece, just my second time ever using copic markers so I am trying to get a better feel for them. As you might be able to tell this piece is a bit sketch(mainly in the hair section) I only spent about an hour on it.
It's a tribute to one of my favorite actors and one of the great minds behind Adult Swim Robot Chicken, Seth Green
I hope you guys all enjoy it!

it's finally done!(the inks at least, hopefully going to go over the piece with my grey copic marker set, as well I need to add the final touches onto Nero's tattoos)
This is the largest piece I have ever done. Pretty happy with how it turned out. This is a christmas piece for my girlfriend and glad to see she already loves it. I hope you guys enjoy it as well. I will upload the close up pictures of it later on.
