Photos courtesy of 100 Years Of Monster Movies's on facebook!!
Those are cool! Would have liked to have seen the circle monsters colorized, but they are awesome images nonetheless.
Those are cool! Are they out yet?
Oh that green jacket...
It is the visual symbol for all that is wrong with Universal's marketing of the classic monsters. We should call this the "green jacket era."
I'm not sure why they used black and white sketches for the monster portraits. I would think color images would be more eye catching. I can imagine colorful circular images like the Elwar buttons on these cards. That would look super cool.
Hey! where's the Creature? what gives?
Totally fantastic! I am all over these when they come out.
Could be worse. At least we no longer have that horrible splash logo.
Makes me think of the AHI's.
BK
I'm with Raymond the images should have been in eye catching color but I dig the fact they use a Strange Frank image and the Dracula is Lugosi.
Very nice looking figures. Not too thrilled about the packaging, but just makes it easier to rip off the card.
I really dig the packaging-- it has a nice look to it. I just ordered a set based on these photos alone!
I was hoping to see something akin to the Dark Shadows packaging. The images are great, but they need some color.
No Creature in this set?

Mike,
Is there a different licensing issue that prevents this, or is this just a poor oversight on their marketing department? Your thoughts.

I'm assuming it's because the monsters pictured are the only monsters being made. If these do well I'd imagine the Creature (and maybe; Bride, Phantom & Invisible Man?) would pop up on the next series packaging!?

They probably just wanted characters that you didn't have to sculpt an entire body for.
I wish they would go back and do AHI syle additions. Phantom, Werewolf of London, Dracula's daughter. They surely would be cheap to do, as our beloved original ahi's were inexpensively produced. Kind of like EMCE adding Chekov and Sulu to the mego Star Trek line re-issues. Just dont re-issue the originals. Madness would surely ensue if that happened.
From what I understand there will only be Frankenstein and Wolfman available this year and Dracula and Mummy next year if the series sells well. I have mine on order already. No word on a Creature or Bride or Invisible man at this time.
