One of my favorite 'old man' quotes, told to me by Mr. Thompson - who was old when I was young - in reply to my 12 year old self asking how he was doing: "Every day above ground is a good day".

You know you are old when you have to bring supplies up the stairs so that you don't have to go back down and then up again.
Whenever I feel particularly decrepit, I just remind myself that when Elvis was my age, he had been dead for 15 years.
