Well, at least 98% completed. I'm sure over time I will go back and touch up a few things later. But here is my summer project for myself completed (for now). Hope you like it.

Love it! The whole set-up is just awesome. It's like a little story being told before our eyes -or several stories! Great paint work on those figures. Thanks for sharing with us.
Awesome! Is that the original store display (background and such)?
That looks sooooooo good! Great job. It makes a nice vintage presentation to see it on the display board like that. The pterodactyl is so cool. Great painting on all the pieces. I'm curious- How many people out there think cavemen really battled dinosaurs? ;) I know I did when I was growing up.
That is sweet!

Hope you like it.
The only way I could like it anymore is if it were sitting on one of my monster shelves!!
That is a fantastic job!
Now THAT is cool!
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the kind words!!!!!!!! This really was a labor of love and a blast to do!!!! Growing up I really never had these kits. I always had the Aurora monsters or superhero kits. But I had a cousin about the same age and he had a lot of the Prehistoric Scenes kits. I don't think his parents would let him have the monster kits ( I think they creeped his mom out ::)). I remember staying the night at their house from time to time and staying up all night having dinosaur battles using the kits. those were great times! I figures that I just have to have them (in honor of those times) as a part of my collection room.
As for the store display background, it is a reproduction from Python Kits that I received as a birthday present a couple of months ago. The bases for the Saber tooth and the custom Neanderthal Man are just blocks of wood painted flat black with computer scanned Aurora logos glued on to them. I did try to keep the paint scheme close to the colors of the characters and the cave seen on the box art for each kit. Those colors are synonymous with these kits. If you close your eyes and think of any of these kits, the odds are that you will see them in the same colors. That is at least if you remember having or seeing these kits as a kid. I hope that when you see it that it brings you back to those wonderful times.

Another fantastic job my friend. Always love seeing your work.
And I remember drooling over the originals when I was a kid. I had that same Dino Allosaurus because I played quarter poker with my Dad and his friends with my allowance money. I won a pot with a straight flush :o and the next day took my winnings and bought the kit. Wish I still had it.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Representative of an original display, at least.
No problem Mr. Scott. Only too glad to help!!! And BTW: Python Kits also offers the other Prehistoric Scenes store display as well (the Woolly Mammoth display). I believe the price on the displays were around $85.00 each. I don't know their web address but I'm sure you can do a Yahoo search for them or you can find info on them on the Parts Pit website.
And Mr. Lester, always great to hear from you my friend!!! Thank you for the great story and if it weren't for those allowances....... well thank god we got them. A monster kid's got to get his money from somewhere ;). And by the way, I always love seeing your avatar!!! We just hit the one year mark for the closing of PMI. Just glad to see some of our work still out there!!!!!

Looks like you found the site. I love all of the old store displays!!!!!!!! I was thinking of maybe picking up a Monster Scenes store display as well. Does anyone know if Moebius sells the display without the figures?
