Funko Universal Monsters Mystery Minis

If you're a fan of things that go bump in the night, the macabre, the creepy, the ghoulish, the terrifying, the Universal Monsters mystery minis series is the perfect opportunity to get your creep on. Bring home Frankenstein, Frankenstein holding a flower, The Mummy, The Invisible Man wrapped up, The Invisible Man, Wolfman, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Dracula holding a candle, The Creature, The Mole People and Phantom varying in rarity from 1/6 to 1/72.

Coming July. ($65.00 at Amok Time)

Please note this is for a case of 12 Mystery Minis.
There is no guarantee on case pack.
Again these are 12 Blind Boxes in the original display case from Funko.

Also available in a 4 pack for $25.00ish.

Additionally, Walgreens will be getting an exclusive set in black & white!

I'll be looking for a Creature on eBay.  :)

Those catalog illustrations look better than the Mystery Minis with plain white eyes I see on eBay.

If they look like the catalog image, I wouldn't mind having the two Frankensteins.

I hope Funko does more cool caricatures like the ones they did for the Bobble Heads, etc.

The white eyed ones are from 2 Mystery Minis sets from a couple of years ago. They only did 4 UM characters, mixed in with other horror movie characters.

These are also going to be available in a 4 pack in the $25.00 range. Totally random, of course.

Wow!  These are awesome!  I about unloaded all of my old ones, but these...  These are great!  Love the new look with the actual eyes.  So much better.  These are all fantastic.  I hope the Dracula with candle isn't too limited.

These break down to about 6 bucks ea. What do you think the eBay price will be? $25?

The hands look better, too.  The blank-eyed minis have chunky fingers that look like something from a Lego set.

I like caricatures.  I just don't like the kind of stuff we have been getting lately.  These are a big improvement.

I like these figures but i HATE blindbox. ESPECIALLY when there is no guarantee on case pack. So I could buy a whole case of these and still not get a full set? No thank you. I'll simply pass. More for the people who are willing to have "fun" with the thrill of trying to find them all....  At the risk of sounding cheap, is something costs more than $1, I am not willing to play the blindbox game.

Luckily for me, I collect only Frankenstein - so it won't be any big deal getting a couple Franks from eBay.

This is a lousy deal for anyone wanting to collect the whole set.

It will depend largely on which one(s) are 1/72. If it's as past mini's have gone, there will be lot auctions with average prices below retail, along with individual auctions for the "chase" figures.

BTW, I'm fairly sure the four pack is just a lot of four of the blind boxes for sale as a group, not a specialty differeing from the case assortment.

My guess would be the Frank with flower, the Drac with candle and one of the IMs.

Based on prior Funko history I would wager a fair sum that Frank with flower and Dracula with candlestick are both 1/72. Based on high popularity/interest Creech is probably one of the 1/32 but that's just an informed guess. [only after posting did I note Mike Scott posted the same thing]

I don't like Funko Mystery Mini's as a general rule but these are pretty cool.

Which makes no sense! If something is popular, make it easier to get, not harder. Why piss off your customers?

Funko's motive is likely the same as the decades old motive of makers of trading cards.  They frequently make a highly desirable card more scarce. They hope you buy a ton of mystery mini's looking for the one you want. It also plays on the human nature of people wanting something more if it's hard to get. Like I said, I'm not sure Creech will be one of the more limited ones but that is how Funko does it with these Mystery Mini's. It's a big reason I avoid things like them. I'm not willing to spend several hundred dollars to get a full set (I'm a completionist of monster sets) of things I'm not in love with.

I'm glad to see the UM getting some more love but I'm not overly excited for these, at least not enough to preorder a case or chase down my faves. That being said, if I happen to come across the B/W versions at Walgreens I'll probably grab a box or 2 for my desk at work.

I'm surprised Funko actually made some nice looking monster toys.

I agree with the blind box thing, we should be able to buy an entire case to get all the figures.

The B/W Creature and all clear Invisible Man look really nice btw.

Cool!  Thank you!

Good to see the Drac with candle is the standard edition.  Would've really liked better odds on the Phantom.  Making him the chase figure is kinda mean since this is Claude Rains we're talking about.

Figures seem to sell about as fast as they list.  (Didn't see any Creatures.)

Not a bad little caricature.  Never cared for the Little Orphan Annie eyes on the earlier MM's.

I'm not much worried about getting the Frank with Flower.  If I can get it cheap enough, I'll pick one up - Otherwise, I can live without it.  Same with the B/W.

Grabbed a Frank, Drac, Bride, Creech, Wolf and Invisible Man from Ebay.  Prices were ok. I can't deal with buying an entire box and selling off the doubles anymore. Those days are gone.

Also, just saw these as well. What do you guys think of them? I'll definitely try to nab the cereal monster ones. Maybe the Big Boy too!

Has anyone checked out what the original Funko Force Uni Monsters are going for? There's only one 4 piece set on eBay now for $400! Creech alone lists for $100. The Wolfman is relatively cheap (around $20). I grudgingly bought a set ten years ago for 40 bucks. Now, I'm glad I did (if only for trade purposes).

I do.  My worst mistake was once thinking I was getting a Pennywise, and I ended up with a chase Leatherface.

Since I want one of each of these, shaking is pretty essential.  Some people bring scales into the stores and weigh them, but I've been happy with my shaking method.

Of course, it's been years since I've shaken anything, so maybe I've lost the magic.

The cases usually have the same layout as to which figures are where. Here is the layout I found online:

Top layer:

Right front corner 1/6 Frankenstein 56.6
Left front corner 1/6 Frankenstein
Middle right: 1/24 Dracula 55.3
Middle left: 1/72 Invisible Man 55.1
Back left corner: 1/12 Bride 57.5
Back right corner: 1/12 Creature 58.1

Bottom Layer:

Left front corner: 1/6 Wolfman 60.06
Right front corner: 1/6 Wolfman
Middle left: 1/6 Dracula 56.9
Middle right: 1/6 Dracula
Back left corner: 1/6 Mummy 53.5
Back right corner: 1/6 Mummy

The number on the right is the weight of the box. Some people like to find it by weight.

Obviously the 1/24 Dracula and 1/72 Invisible Man isn't in every case. The cases without them is usually replaced with the easier to find version.

The cases usually have the same layout as to which figures are where. Here is the layout I found online:

So, a number of people have found this to be true of a number of cases?

I've only found 1 report so far but from my past experiences in collecting Mystery Minis there are usually at most 2 different layouts per series. The one I posted is for the color set. The b/w Walgreens exclusives might be different when they're released.

Gotta love the Internet, when people put their minds and individual information together.

I like these sculpts so much better than the Little Orphan Annie eyes MM's.  They also don't have the strange blocky fingers of the arlier figures.

Best of all, they look just as good in collectors' photos as they do in the Funko catalog illustrations.

Creature is exceptional, as is the Dracula.  Invisible Man is really, really awesome too.

Received my first batch of these today, a lot from eBay consisting of Drac, Bride, Wolfman, Creech & Mummy. They look fantastic! These are the first Mystery Minis I've bought, and I didn't realize that they have 0 points of articulation. I thought their heads and arms might move like the (much larger) Funko Force figures. Despite this minor disappointment, I am very pleased with them. I will be getting more!

Incidentally, I also received my Super 7 Universal Monsters Keshi 6-pack today. It was a monsterful mail day for me!

I went on a road trip today, and along the way, stopped at some GameStops.  Rather than shake, I tried the method provided on the Funko forum.  It did not yield great results, as I got a number of doubles, and still need the chase Dracula, Bride, and Phantom.  I have listed my doubles in the For Sale section.  Someone please buy my Mummies!

I hope this current generation of Funko Universal Monster Mystery Minis sells a lot of toys.  Maybe Funko will be encouraged to go this route rather than do more blank-eyed toddler monsters.

I really liked the Funko Force Uni-Monsters when they came out.  Maybe they could do some of the characters in the mini line as larger toys?  Funko Force II - Invisible Man, Mole Man, Mutant, Creature Walks, Phantom, etc.

But no Universal Monster Honey Pot Kids trading cards.

Bought a 12 pack of these at GameStop yesterday, and pretty much got everything I wanted in one fell swoop! The guy even let me take the display case for them. Got a Frankenstein, Bride, Wolf Man, Creature, Dracula (with and without candle), Mummy and Invisible Man. Plus an extra Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Mummy and Dracula (with candle stick) to put on my desk at work. If I find a Phantom that isn't too expensive (which I doubt will happen), I  might try and get the rest just to have the entire set. They do look really cool, particularly Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Mummy and Invisible Man.

I did the GameStop route too. Got two within 5 miles to either side of my house but ended up only finding them at a shop 30 minutes away. But... ! It was a full case!

I got doubles of regular Frank, Wolfman, candle Drac and Imhotep. Got the Phantom, Creature, flower Frank and Bride singles too! Kinda bummed at no Invisible Man, though.

Thanks to two friends here at the UMA, I have Invisible Man and Mole Man hassle free and cheap. Found a fella selling Dracula (no candle version), Frankenstein, Wolfman, Mummy, Creature and Bride in a lot for 59.99 with free shipping. Seemed fair as opposed to driving, hunting, and pecking for what I want and getting stuck with stuff I don't. So since I am skipping the variant Frank, Drac, and Invisible Man....all I gotta do is hold out for a Claude Rains Phantom. Until they make a series 2, which I am sure they probably will. ::)

I fully intended to not buy any of these, as they aren't my thing at all. But the more I looked at them the more I liked them. I stopped at a Gamestop by my work at lunch and the kid had just put out the only box they had (so a fresh box of 12). They were only $4.99 (I expected them to be $6 for some reason). I bought 7 of them. Got Dracula (candle), Frankenstein (without flower), Wolfman, Mummy (this was my only double), Bride, Invisible Man (regular version). Not bad for a random pick of 7 of the 12.

I don't much care for the alternate versions of any of them. I do want the Creature bad and I'll find the Mole Man and Phantom somewhere I guess. I think I'll seal the box's back up and give them to my son for Christmas. He'll think he had the greatest luck in history of the world (he has no idea they come in blindbags inside the boxes).

How nice of you!

Found the Drac w/out candle and standard Invisible Man online for a fair-ish deal I leapt at. doubt any stores near me will hold a fresh case just so I can cherry pick it. The clear Invisible Man isn't 100% necessary but I really do want that Mole Man.

Went to a couple of Game Stops today. One didn't have anything. The other only had five boxes left. I risked it and bought them all. One Wolf Man, two Mummies, and two of the exact same Dracula later, I decided blind boxes weren't worth the money or effort. So, I reverted to Ebay. Just ordered Frankenstein, the Bride, Invisible Man and Creature for $50. Which is still fairly exorbitant. But I'm guaranteed not to blow a wad of cash on figures I already have.

and I can wait until the hype cools down to see if the prices for Mole Man, Phantom reduce any. And I'll get the variant Frankenstein and Dracula eventually. But they're the two I'm least concerned about.

I just got The Mole Man in the mail today, and when i took him out and set him on my desk I just thought "Who's a cute little subterranean monstrosity? I already thought about all of that. But I already went to the two Gamestops that are even close to me(and one of them isn't actually close to me). The farthest one didn't have anything, so I don't know if they'd already sold their whole box or never got them. But the guy at the second Gamestop said people had been calling the store for the last two weeks about these things. So, I have to use my gas(I have an SUV) and time driving long distances for little or no return. It's more worth it to me to eliminate that middle part and put my money towards getting exactly what I want.

On top of all of that, I really don't feel like going through the hassle of selling these things(I've already got enough toys sitting in my garage I need to sell). Especially when my doubles seem to be the least rare, least desired of the whole set.

The only thing that would have made buying a whole box worth it to me, personally, would be if I got the Phantom out of it. But it's too late for that now.

But, hey, if someone is willing trade a Mole Man for a Mummy and a Dracula, which seems unlikely, I'm up for that.

I am going to go out on a limb and say there will be another series of these. They seem to be selling well, and since the first set has no Metaluna Mutant, I could see a series 2 coming about. As they are caricatures, I doubt any actor licensing is required. As such, I could see Werewolf of London, Dr. Frankenstein, Ygor, Metaluna Mutant, Creature Walks Among Us, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lon Chaney Phantom, Mr. Hyde (with a Jekyll head as the chase variant), Dracula's Daughter (repaint her as a Dracula's Bride for a chase Variant), Monster on Campus, Frankenstein Monster in fur vest, and many others eventually being candidates. I cannot believe I actually like these little doo dads. ::) ::)

But if these are selling for them as well as I suspect (they got me off my wallet....a miracle) then they can't just make 12 Frankensteins. Plus Metaluna Mutant usually makes the grade these days. Plus they already did Wolfman, Mummy, Frankenstein and others in this style....and they still did a new batch in the new style. I am hoping for a series 2. If we don't get them, oh well....no harm, no foul. I would love a Werewolf of London in this style.  A Cute little Monster on Campus would be neat too.  Those two never get any love. For that matter, Kharis is getting forgot a lot too these days.

It's because of Sarah Karloff's agreement with Universal, basically pushing Imhotep to the forefront of licensing agreements either directly or indirectly.  When we didn't have Karloff automatically come with the Universal Monster deal, there was more choice, and Chaney and Strange were almost default in the '90s.  I don't know what ever became of the Chaney lawsuit, but it didn't end with a Karloff like-deal.

These are just silly and stylized enough that I'd be tempted if I saw them in a store. But that generic Mummy would be cooler with a Karloff head.

And does everything have to have chase figures? Jeez.

Yeah, and now that I know they aren't Funko, I'm even less interested.  A definite pass.  I'd consider supporting Funko because they're doing great things with the Monsters with their Mystery Minis, and I'd love to see more.  But a different company doing something not so great...  I don't feel obligated.

I mean, you feel that way now. Are you sure you don't want to just buy them, open them, fiddle with them, confirm your feelings and then just return them? This is 'Merica! Nothing in Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 of the Constitution prohibits it. Nothing in the Uniform Commercial Code prohibits it. We all know Target will take anything back as long as it isn't completely destroyed (perhaps even if they didn't sell it). Maybe even post a few late night memes as you fiddle with the key chains in gleeful anticipation of returning them.  I don't see a downside. In fact, it's the only logical path to take.

Goodness. A complete stranger on the internet doesn't agree with my returning a product.  How shall I ever cope? The same person who picked a fight with Adam... and told him he reserves the right to hate him in the future. Who denounced a good portion of the board as negative when he came riding into town this year, to save us all from ourselves.  I get it. You're emotionally invested in the game. It offends your sensibilities that I am taking it back because you find it morally reprehensible. You'll be ok. The world will go on.  You'll see. Have a potato.

Don't do it.  It is our duty as loyal subjects of the Magnificent Manufacturers of America to consume whatever crap they produce and never complain or return shoddy product that doesn't live up to their overstated advertising.

What if everybody did that?  They might actually stop producing the crap that doesn't live up to their exaggerated promises or break shortly after purchase and lie useless in the closet until we can hold a garage sale and inflict it on an unsuspecting neighbor.

The board warned me that someone else had posted while I was typing, but I went ahead and posted mine anyway.

I can live with "a complete stranger on the Internet" hating me.  No problem.  Hell, people I know very well hate me - no skin off my ample nose.

There are billions of people in the world.  We can't expect all of them to make sense and act in their own interests.  There will always be corporate apologists.  I don't get it.  But that's just me.

I would like to formally apologize for getting some people's Depends in a bunch. Perhaps someone at the customer service desk at Target can use some lightly used salad tongs somebody else returned to help you get them unbunched. Better yet, return the Depends while you're there. Temporarily.  It also plunged Ireland into another famine, when a single variety was imported from the New World to feed a grain poor populace - then that one variety got a fungus that devastated their crops.  Mid 1800's.

I'm just curious, don't read anything into the question, but if you were going to pick a wave 2, what 12 would you pick? Just wondering what super fans would want.  (I can't talk about the inner workings at Funko, or info about what we can and cannot make).

I, personally, would love to see Chaney Phantom, Masque of the Red Death, Dracula's Daughter, Son of Dracula, Son of Frankenstein, Ygor, Revenge of the Creature, Kharis, Henry Frankenstein, Renfield, Van Helsing, Maleva the Gypsy, Werewolf of London, a second pose for Wolf Man, and a third pose for Dracula.

Sideshow did a lot of homework, and did a lot of legwork to get deals done. One of which was getting the March Hyde figure made when he wasn't even Universal....but was the classic and most iconic Hyde. They weren't a "custom" figure company though...so they had to skip certain characters because there might be an heir out there who could sue. Colin Clive being the main concern. Couldn't risk it. Smaller garage kit companies or custom figure makers like DD even have to worry about these things, and on the grand scheme of things....not as big a house as Universal. It is sad they didn't get made. the ones you named...as well as Maleva.

Henry, Pretorius, Ygor, and, even, Carradine Dracula were done to perfection by Distinctive Dummies. They fit in beautifully with the Sideshows, so no complaint here. Who else has done Fritz, Renfield, Werewolf of London, White Zombie, etc.? I'm happy with what they got done.

I still would've did a happy dance if Maleva could've seen the light of day. When we got Bela The Gypsy....I was sure she was next. Alas, it all came crashing to a fiery end. Sideshow (to date) has been the best treatment the Universal Monsters have ever received by a licensed manufacturer in my eyes. Was everything perfect...No. Was most of it absolutely perfect: oh yeah.

Wouldn't it have been nice if Sideshow had made 8 inch figures of them around the time they were making the monsters?

To be sure, but the defect is it wasn't glued on,lol. I like these, but I have discovered that most of these mini mystery things are really thrown together quickly. I have noticed errant paint, and sloppy paint on a couple. I have the Rains, an the inside of the cape has some rough spots on it. So it's probably fairly easy to miss gluing something on.

These things are glued together.  I dunno how many pieces comprise each character, but they definitely aren't single piece units. Rains Phantom for instance I can easily spot his pieces as hat, mask, head, cape and body at least. So that's 5 parts. Mole Man I am guessing is at least 3 with brow, head, and body. But they are definitely glued together.

Undercuts in the sculpting require it. It would be impractical if not impossible to release it from a mold in one piece.

Agreed.  These are exceptionally well-designed, such an improvement over the previous mystery mini designs, which I had collected, but ultimately sold off.  These I will never sell, because they are stunning.  They capture the characters in their eyes and in their poses.  So happy to bring them into my home, and I hope for more down the line.

Having done a lot of resin kits, and figures for DD, I have noticed this is done on a lot of things. I have seen some kits or busts where the bulk is one piece but sometimes ears, or even teeth, are cast separately... and have to be glued on. Guessing for the reason you mention with Mole People.

On the one hand, it's neat to see a Claude Rains Phantom figure.
Oh the other hand, I could totally see this coming. For reasons beyond comprehension Universal is really trying to push the movie that is in no way HORROR into the "Universal Monsters Brand" and push out Lon Chaney.

It's like trying to pass the Disney Hunchback off as horror. It just doesn't compute.

Masked, I'd prefer Rains.  Unmasked, it's got to be Chaney.  Otherwise no one will buy.  Yes, I'd buy one or two unmasked Rains figures or figures with removable masks, but as a novelty, not as a staple.  Manufacturers know there is zero inspiration behind the Rains makeup and it won't sell.  Chaney's makeup is iconic, and it will continue to be the Phantom we see, even if Universal tries to push Rains.

The B/W monsters are showing up on eBay. Average 2x - 3x the price of the color ones. The rarest ones even more.
Thanks for the update Mike.
Been looking for them but no luck😔

If I wanted a complete set, I would probably start with a Walgreens case - then look for the stragglers on eBay.

But, I collect only Frankenstein - so it's straight to eBay for me.

Crazy.  I don't even like the clear one.  I'd much rather have the fully painted one in the bandages.  Maybe if he had a different sculpt, like the floating shirt that chased the police, or his traveling outfit.

I was just in a Walgreens a few minutes ago. There were two cases of these B&W Mystery Mini's right in front of the counter. The cashier saw me looking at them and started telling me about the lady who had just bought 5 of them. Apparently the lady walks in and starts tearing the outer plastic off the boxes, opening the boxes themselves and then feeling which figures they were inside the black wrap (without opening the black wrap). If she didn't like what she felt she would glue the box back together with some type of glue. When she got to the 5th box the cashier noticed what she was doing and told her she would be buying all 5. After some back and forth and threats of police involvement the lady agreed to buy them and left.

So if you think you have a shot of getting these in the wild, forget it. Plan on getting ripped off by the crazy Funko people selling them to you on eBay after opening them and trying to reseal right in the store. I'm not a fan of blind boxes. I'm even less of a fan of opening blind boxes and resealing them.

Also, I noticed these cost $9.99 a box in the Walgreens I was in. I saw the colored version for $4 a box.

Collecting would be much more fun if we could scoop the scum off the community.

I hope she gets stuck with 5 cases of the same figure - whichever is most common and least wanted.

What incredible nerve! And right in front of the counter guy! If that isn't a reason to do away with blind boxes and chase items, I don't know what is!

I just bought a B&W 1/6 Frankenstein for $12.00, shipping included from eBay.

If Walgreens is charging $10.00 for a blind box, that must be a pretty good deal.  Must be a real collector just selling off his extras to recoup his actual expenses.

I talked to someone today (out of state) who said their Walgreens are selling them for $6.99 so there is variability by location. I've seen them in 3 different Walgreens and all of them were $9.99. I told the story to my brother and he sent me a picture he took of one of the boxes from his local Walgreens and the box had clearly been resealed (the plastic was removed and the bottom flaps were completely crooked). I really hope that the lady from yesterday (and people like her) are't able to just go to another store and return them with the store clerk not aware that there was originally a plastic seal around them.

Noticed that the Walgreens by my work had one black and white Universal Monsters mystery mini out. Bought it, and got Creature from the Black Lagoon. Stopped by a couple other Walgreens on my way home and it looks like each location is only going to get four individual boxes, unfortunately. Got all four at both stores. Ended up pretty lucky - 2 Dracula, 2 Mummy, 1 Wolfman, 1 Frankenstein, 1 Bride and 1 Phantom (on top of the Creature). Will probably just go on eBay to get the Invisible Man, as that's the only one I still want. I like the color versions better, honestly, but these are still cool. Wish Walgreens had more of them though.

I could be mistaken. I asked the guy at the store (who knows if he knows what's going on) if they would have more, and he said something about only getting four. And then I noticed the second store I stopped at only had four as well. Both stores had them out with some Mystery Minis for It: Chapter 2. I will say that neither store looked like they had all of their Halloween stuff completely set up though.

They may mean 4 cases. I was in a Walgreens yesterday and they had 4 partially sold cases placed in different places throughout the store. 2 were together in the Halloween isle but the other 2 were in different places. Weird (random) placement I thought. So maybe they haven't put the cases out yet.

They may mean 4 cases. I was in a Walgreens yesterday and they had 4 partially sold cases placed in different places throughout the store. 2 were together in the Halloween isle but the other 2 were in different places. Weird (random) placement I thought. So maybe they haven't put the cases out yet.

The guy at the store near me definitely meant four individual boxes. That said, if the Walgreens you went to had four cases spread around, maybe my guy was mistaken. haha. Or at the very least, different locations won't be getting the same number of mystery minis.

In sorta small vein, has anybody been picking up the Ad Icons Mystery Mini's?
Frankenberry, Count Chocula, Boo Berry, Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy all appear. I've only seen them on social media but I really hope to find them.

Got Dracula with the spooky hands today!  Happy about that.  Just need an Invisible Man and a Mole Person to have at least one of each monster.

The Ad Icons figures are fun.  I'm working with my brother to help him get the monsters because he's a massive fan of them.  Thankfully we got BooBerry right away, and Chocula is crazy common, but we're still working on the rest.

Where'd you find them? I'm hoping they'll show up at Target because I don't frequent Wal-Mart and GameStop said they sold their case and don't think they'll get anymore.

I saw them at Target 2 or 3 weeks ago. In the Funko section if your store has one.

Never.  If you don't want to play by the rules, don't play.

I've honestly never seen these at any other stores in my area.  I've found the Universal ones a couple times, but not these.

I finally found a Mystery Mini yesterday at Barnes and Noble. I'm very excited to have seen them on display out in the wild, something that has eluded me up to now. So, if I don't open the box, I could have any of the 12 figures and in a way with the box unopened, I have ALL the figures. I'm thinking of leaving the box sealed and that way I won't have to buy any others. That's what Dr. Heisenberg told me.

If I were collecting the black and whites of these I would take you up on it. However, I did the color versions, and I don't do variants. Ever. I didn't even buy the color variations of Frank, Drac and Invisible Man. my set consists of  9 characters.

What if they are the same price and you like the "variant" better than the regular issue?

I pick one and stick to it. For instance, I decided I would get the Mezco 1:12 Frankenstein. I didn't buy the black and white. I was gonna stick with color.  I just don't do variants as a general rule of thumb. Keeps me from going completely broke instead of just moderately broke. The only thing I might actually break this collecting rule on would be Psycho. Yet no worries there...because no one makes anything for that film with any regularity of release  .

I suppose it could be done if someone were creative enough. Using Norman's torso, which oddly enough was given boobies.

I thought Mezco sold the color one as the "variant"? I got both, but found the b&w one to be better painted. Though, if you only collect color, it makes sense.

What I mean by "no variant buying" is I go one type. All color or all whatever....no buying multiples b/c of paint variantions.  I ain't buying a Gogos painted version, a glow in the dark version, a black light version, a version that sings "how much is the doggy in the window" or anything like that. One and done. I picked color for the Mezco 1:12. Not that that one mattered, lol.

Just started collecting the mystery mini universal monsters b/w Walgreens exclusives. $5.99 a box here by me which a much more reasonable that what I hear other places are selling them for. I struggle to not be a completionist. So far I have 8 out of the 12 but I would be happy to at least get an invisible man and mole man to have all the monsters represented.

Nice! Thanks for the suggestion. Just realized you can do the same thing at Barnes and Noble for the color Monsters mystery minis, in case anyone is looking for those. Might roll the dice and buy a few more to see if I can get a Phantom or clear Invisible Man. I'd like to get the full set, and only need four more (those plus Mole Man and Frankenstein with flower).

I picked up a Count Chocula and Frankenberry off eBay for a reasonable price and am happy with them. I may eventually try for the others, though Booberry is way too expensive on eBay right now. Meanwhile, I have branched out to the Ghostbusters, Lord of the Rings, and Justice League series', as well!

They hooked you like any good crack dealer would. I've seen it before countless times. You buy a single Funko item and the next thing you know you're snorting mystery mini box shavings off a toilet seat at San Diego Comic Con. I've never seen someone successfully overcome it even with extensive rehab. My condolences.

I have some spares for some stuff if anyone was looking for anything and didn;t want to hunt.  Plenty of Dracula, Wolf Men, and Mummies.  I have a spare Bride also, but I'm probably going to put her on Ebay with my Brother's Frank with the Flower to try and accrue funs to get him a Fruit Brute for his Cereal Monster collection.

Yeah my inside stickers are good but the front walkway sticker came off, missing little side picket fence, chimney attachment and  one hing pivot is busted but still displays well and it was always mine so its priceless to me. If someone bought one and repainted and jazzed it up this thing would be beast. If someone on this thread does that please post. Would love to see that. I might make some trees out of twigs, cobwebs etc but could never alter it.

I bought three packs a few weeks ago. I've only purchased six packs all together. 3 mummies, 2 wolfmen, and one drac. I'm not happy about that random distribution. But the figures are kinda neat.

You can buy just the ones you want on eBay.

Plus, that's the hard to get Drac!  It took me ages to get ahold of him.  That's a good pull!

Great score.

If anyone has a color Invisible Man, I'm interested.  I've been unable to get one.  I don't have the chase either, but I'm not really worried about that.  I found the clear head underwhelming.

You don't need the chase.  Just get two IMs and pull the head off one.

I agree.  Phantom was my priority because he was a different character and I was lucky enough to get him very early on.

Found a few more boxes of these the other day. Yet another mummy in one box ;D, but did score the other Dracula, a Mole Man, and the Invisible Man.

What ones do you need, yet?

Hey, Mike

Well, those are the only six I have, so I'd like the Monster, Bride, and Creech for sure. I like the Phantom figure, but that's pretty pricey. Even the Creech figure is a bit high imo. I'll prob snag the monster and bride on ebay while they're affordable.

I think The Phantom had the lowest number made?
