Why "Watch" a BIN

Why do people "Watch" a Buy-It-Now listing on eBay? You watch an "auction" to see how the bidding is going. If you want a BIN, you should buy it before somebody else does. If you don't want it, why watch it. What am I missing?

I watch such listings  because often a seller will offer a discounted price via an email to me. This usually consists of offers 5-20% off the listed price. I've been pleased to pick up things I want at a price that's more in line with my expectations. An item ( especially in the collectibles market ) is really only worth what someone is willing to pay to own it!

Sometimes they will offer it to you cheaper.  I didn't see RF's entry until now.

Right now I'm watching a few items, some are BIN, others are auction,  the BIN pieces are tempting, but holidays are right around the corner, and sometimes I like to see what the final hammer price was for an auction.

At this stage in the game....it's formulaic. Let's weigh the pros and cons here. Do I have space? is it something I really wanted to see as a kid, or existed as a kid and I couldn't get it? Is it over priced? Do I want to eat a whole lot of Ramen noodles and peanut butter this month, or eat real food. I usually talk myself out of it these days.

Sometimes I will watch a BIN with great pictures - If I plan to go back and steal them after I've checked everything on my various lists of eBay notifications.
