Title: Terry or Theresa?
Post by: fmofmpls on October 06, 2008, 04:23:33 PM
"Beware! Beware of the big green dragon that sits on your doorstep. He eats little boys, puppy dog tails, and big, fat snails. Beware. Take care. Beware!"

Okay. Let's get this all out in the open. In another thread here at General Discussion, I bravely shared the following photo:

The above photo was taken in 1967 at my grandmother's house. My brother and I are dressed like pretty little things. I am the sissy pictured on the right. I believe this photo was a Halloween photo, but I can't be sure. At the earlier thread, I had said my early cross dressing endeavor (I was just 5 yrs old) was harmless fun leaving no side effects late in life. Well ... I lied.

WARNING! Do not continue reading this post if you are weak of heart. Do not continue reading this post if you want to continue to believe in the Terry you think you know!

Truth be told, my early cross dressing years did rear it's head later in life. I had been performing in hardcore metal bands during the early 80s and decided it was time for a complete "makeover". I needed to shock a few folks here in Mpls and my early cross dressing years were an influence in deciding how to properly go about this. There were other strong influences at this point in my life also. Folks like Ed Wood and Divine of John Waters fame made a huge impact on me. It was time to pick up where I left off back in 1967. I felt confident in who I was and decided to go shopping for ladies undergarments.

I went from this in 1986:

To this! First Avenue in Mpls 1990

Mz. Glenda (aka fmofmpls) of Mondo Trasho!

In closing: I am not ashamed of my performing years. In many ways I am very proud of it. Many curious folks would always ask me how I felt being dressed in women's attire. My answer was (and still is) that I felt beautiful, and I felt sexy. But then again so did Divine and Ed Wood too.  :D

Now remember one thing! That was me then, and this is me now. I am still your General. I command an army; not a bunch of girl scouts . Nothing has changed. I am happily married with two beautiful kids. Now go wash your eyes out with soap and tell no one about any of this!

LOL! I'm afraid the names have been changed to protect the guilty. You have a very good eye Bob! You are correct sir! The guy on the left is indeed Robert Johnson of Comet Toys. I knew him then as "Meaty Bob". Actually, you may be surprised to learn he is a member of the UMA and may be reading this very post as we speak (or type). Sorry Robert! You've been exposed! Robert (or Bob as I prefer to call him) and I have been speaking again as of late.

Terry, I tell you, this whole package is actually pretty stylin'.  I like the name, the concept, the influences, the poster art.  Now if you'd just add some good music to that mix, you'd really have something.

Terry felt that he had to confess
That in female garb he used to dress
But his face was so scary,
And his armpits so hairy,
That on the floor I just made a big mess ;)

Hi ya Angie. If only my kids thought I was as cool!  :D Obviously, they know nothing of this sort of thing (nor will they for a long, long time).

Yupper. I played First Avenue dozens of times. Most notably co-billing with Wendy O' Williams of Plasmatics fame as well as a show with the Misfits. It's a great club with a great stage. Perfect for making a total ass out of yourself! It's what I do best! ;D

Are you saying that you want to bring it to Wonderfest? After all, both Andy and yourself are accomplished musicians. Don't tempt me to bring out the wig and lipstick.  ;)

Actually, that was my real hair back then. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I no longer have that kind of hair. I still have hair on my head .. but it's short and gray.  :-\

Hahaha, that's pretty funny.  There are a few pics of me in drag onstage too.  I don't have them, so I'm at the mercy of others, but here's one.  I'm in the background, you can't see me too well in this.  It wasn't a regular part of the show, but it happened a few times.

Ok ok move over Theresa and Roberta.  I'm proud to present my silver angel wing shirt, shower cap and pantyhose. In drag always looks good with a beard. We played at First Avenue too - BEFORE it was First Avenue!!!  Was called Uncle Sam's - I'm dating myself but what the heck I live in the past anyway.

Good lord no! Not the toys! Say it isn't so Joe .. or Josephine .. or whatever the heck your calling yourself today? We must remember to be good stewards of what we've been given. We can do this my setting the proper example from which others pattern their behavior. This includes the impressions we make upon our innocent toys. I'm afraid I've stumbled upon my way. Won't you lend a brother a hand roheimiana and lift me out of the gutter in which I ly?

You really want to see photos? Okay, sit tight. I'll go get my mustache.

Actually, I do sort of crossdress on occasion. My Halloween costumes are always male characters and I wore a men's suit and tie to my college awards ceremony when all the other women wore dresses... Yeah, I know I'm weird. But it's not like I ever tried to mislead anyone into thinking otherwise. :P

General, I fear that any discussion of your redemption would be premature. First, we obviously need to know the depth of the crisis you have created. I note, for example, that cross-dressing by some toys has now led to UNDRESSING by others!!!!!

Now as far as this Universal Transvestite thing, well, I want to be in charge of Universal Heterosexual Pervert Never-Failing-Testosterone Branch, if we end up going that route (or shall I say root?).

Good music you say? Good music? How about angry music filled with testosterone with no regard to the listener whatsoever? That was Mondo Trasho. We weren't interested in making "good music" for anyone but ourselves.

Here's a sample of our "good music". This track was named 'We R Ur Not'. The name of the track pretty much sums up who we were playing this music for - ourselves.

BTW, I am the lead vocalist with the pretty pink dress (this is an audio track only).

WARNING! This track contains many profanities. Not for sensitive ears or impressionable young minds! You've been warned. Therefore do not report to the moderator. I am the moderator (with the pretty pink dress).  ;)
