I assume that Universal offered the same deal to the Lugosi and Chaney families, but for less money. With the Karloff license you get two top tier monsters, with the others you get one. The families probably all talk and discuss getting the most money possible from Universal and might have been offended by a lesser offer.

Well, there have been toys made from all 4 monsters portrayed by Lon Jr., but not very many from the non-WM characters.

I think Sarah Karloff basically sold her father's likeness to Universal, according to what I have gleaned here at the UMA. I can't remember though.

This is my understanding as well.  In exchange, he was on the Universal Monsters logo for a decade.

Got my Visible Creature model kit and boxed 54 Godzilla with oxygen destroyer today.  Both are very nice.

I wonder if other "Visible" models are planned.
