The puzzle and the towel are very nice items.

Too bad I collect only Frankenstein.

Yeah, a Frank puzzle would have been great.

You haven't done too bad, this year. You got the Keshi toys, the 3.75 fig. on the coffin card, the pint glass and the mask (if you didn't get it last year).

Not complaining about what I get - Just stating that I really Like the Puzzle and Towel and would snap them up - if I wasn't limited by room and finances to my one monster.

Glad they are out there for you and the other Creature collectors.

Mike, thanks for the pricing information, as well as selling your extra box-o-monsters minis to UMA members; but I think that this is a good time to again bring up this topic: have you, or anyone in the group, considered setting up an aggregate buying circle at the UMA for this type of merchandise? Basically, it works the opposite of an Ebay auction, instead of a bunch of people driving the price of an item up, they band together to purchase things bulk quantities at a wholesale discount, and everyone saves money.

For instance, if an item or set originally cost $$$$ retail, you would take pre-orders for that item and if, in a certain amount of time, 50 people pledge to order it, it would then cost them $$$ each (or slightly below retail), if 100 people order the item, it would cost $$ (or even more below retail), if 200 people order it, the price would be $ (or way below retail & nearly wholesale); the more people who order the item, the lower the price per person.

I'm not sure what Super 7's wholesale policies are or how much would need to be ordered to start getting a discount,  but I would think that they would be eager to reach their target customers. Just a suggestion, but perhaps the UMA could reach out and offer Super 7 (or such companies as DST, Monsterville, etc.) their own dedicated thread, where they could showcase their products & prototypes, gauge interest, and determine price points; in exchange for being able to order from them in bulk. Perhaps they could even manage this type buyers circle, themselves.

Even if they don't, I realize that this idea could entail considerable additional logistics, work and shipping costs, but I think this would be a tremendous benefit/incentive to get more participation and new membership in the UMA, as it would be the only place on the web were collectors could get these items for below retail. I know that there are a lot of Super 7 items I'm on the fence about, but I would be more apt to buy if the prices were just a bit more reasonable.

Perhaps this idea is just a dream; but, dammit, it's a GOOD dream!

A few years ago, Jeff would buy things wholesale, to resell and make a couple of bucks. He would offer a discount (something less than retail?) to UMA members. This was when the group was a lot more active. I don 't know how much business he did with members, but it was probably a lot more then than it would be now. I don't see getting enough sales to get a discount, but if a hundred people chime in to tell me I'm wrong, well, it won't be the first time!  ;D

I can't think of a hundred member' names.

A lot of our members seem to stick to music and general discussion.  How many different active members have chimed in about toys in the last year - even during the Halloween season?

Speaking as a member that doesn't frequent the "Modern Toys" as much as I used too...it's more about the quality of the new stuff. The cartoony stuff is a little too cutesy for my taste. I decided that it would be better to leave my comments to myself, rather than spoil someone else's fun. I have not bought a single Super 7 item. When (if) something exceptional comes out, all the usual suspects will come around to praise or trash said item. There's nothing exciting about the new batch. We've all seen these monsters get far better treatment elsewhere. As a matter of fact, I'm in a room filled with incredible pieces. Ive bought many spectacular versions of all the Uni monsters. The only way I'm reaching for my Visa, is if someone does a mind-blowingly detailed (down to the last pebble)  Monolith Monsters on a beautiful blister art-card.

Don't hold your breath.

It would make a killer fish tank diorama...

So there's a chance? I would buy some to give to the local trick or treaters. It's one Halloween they'll never forget. They get a beautiful, hand crafted piece of art plus a fun-size bag of M&Ms. An evening for the ages.

There's some garage kits out there. (Do you have any, Adam?)

I'm just going to collect big, unsightly rocks. I'll be the envy of my block. By Halloween,  I'll have the best "Monolith Monsters" decorations on the block. Kids will be trampling each other just to get a selfie.

Be sure to stack them, precariously, so they fall over and crush somebody.

You read my mind. I'll have Styrofoam tombstones, in case that happens.
