I finally picked up the Friday The 13th: The Series complete DVD set the other day. I really like this show from the '80s. They just cashed in on the popularity of the Friday The 13th movies with that name, it really had nothing to do with them. I remember when it was rerun a few years ago on some network they called it "Friday's Curse". Pretty cool show.

And, of course, the presence of hottie Louise Robey is a big plus!

Using the established Friday the 13th moniker is also what killed the show; groups that had no clue as to what the show was about just assumed Friday meant teens drinking, doing drugs and fornicating in between being randomly picked off by Jason.  Advertisers gave in to idiotic pressure and fear and started dropping their commercials, at the time of the shows cancellation it was the 2nd rated syndicated show with Star Trek Next Generation coming in first!  Much like the cast of The Munsters some 30 years earlier, the cast of Friday the 13th The Series were shocked when they got word that the series was so abruptly over.

Second one has me scratchin'. He's a ride-on Dinosaur that looks to be battery op, but after much frustrating time I can't find a battery opening. Is this maybe a Dino for like He Man or someone to ride? Any idea how the batteries are accessed? 2006 by Mirage Studios Playmates Toys
I believe he's from the "Dino-Riders" cartoon series and toy line. You can find more info at http://www.dinoriders.com/.

Dinoriders came out in 1988 and this is a 2006 toy. I first thought of dinoriders as well. With all of the reissuing of 1980s toylines I thought it could be some new version of them.

After a quick google search it appears to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy Allosaurus and Michelangelo Paleo Patrol.

Guess I know even less about the TURTLES than I thought, which wasn't much.  ;D  (The Turtles I like are the ones that sang "Happy Together".)

I never watched the show - probably a result of seeing the title.

What other series did it most favorably compare to?

Here's the skinny:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th:_The_Series

It was about two cousins, Micki (Louise Robey) and Ryan (John D. Lemay), who inherited an antique store which was owned by their uncle Lewis Vendredi who made a deal with the Devil (yeah, him again) to allow several items to be cursed and distributed into the world to spread chaos and evil. Micki and Ryan are helped by mystic expert Jack Marshak (Chris Wiggins) and spend the rest of the series trying to get back all of the cursed items and lock them in their vault for safe keeping.
Great show. They pushed the envelope on horror, violence, and sexy (w/Robey) for TV for the time. I watched it when it first ran, and in syndication. Really great DVD set of all three seasons, and cheap now- like 40 bucks cheap. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Got these monster rings in the mail today. They are heavy pewter, and look great on display. Sculpted from Aurora heads with a Sideshow Phantom and Mezco Nosferatu thrown in (I think). A couple of these could take the place of brass knucks! I love 'em.

Still available on eBay. The guy will size them for you. Full set is around 80 bucks including shipping.
