#19704
12:01, 1993 -  Barry Thomas is repeating the same day over and over.  So is everyone else - but he is the only one aware of anything out of the ordinary.

Jonathan Silver, Helen Slater, Martin Landau and Jeremy Piven.

An inoffensive little beast that trods familiar ground.  The limited budget is side-stepped by tightly focusing the action in a small area with just the key cast.  Supposedly made for TV, but the DVD has a theatrical 1.85:1 ratio.

A scientific experiment gone wrong is causing time to repeat. So this Groundhog Day clone is technically sci-fi, unlike the Bill Murray vehicle.

Groundhog Day opened in February, 1993.  12:01 opened in July of the same year.  It is understandable if you aren't familiar with this one.

If Groundhog day had been delayed a year, this little film would be much more familiar with genre fans.

Would have been more fun if they could have opened up the action a little more.  Still, glad I got to see it.

I like the original short (12:01 PM (1991) better than the feature.

Oh, yeah.  Much better.  https://youtu.be/fVooyfaPYD8

Explains some of the confusion about being made for TV or theatrical.  It was both.
