"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." Pretty good, but I liked the book better.

Try "Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies"....much more historical accuracy.

The Thirsty Dead (1973)

Ugh.

I usually love Filipino horror flicks, but not even Vic Diaz could save this one. It plays like a really bad made-for-TV movie from the '70s. It really is awful.

Afterwards I watched the extras on the Something Weird DVD which included seeing several dozen covers from Eerie Pubs. and Stanley monster mags from the '60s and '70s with Dead Elvi tunes playing in the background. That was so cool it almost made up for Thirsty Dead sucking so much. Almost.

At least The Swamp Of The Ravens kicked ass.

Two french chef-d'oeuvres:

Les diaboliques (1955)
Les yeux sans visage (1960)

Powerful moviemaking.

McDougals House of Horror

"Zombies on Broadway" (not quite as dumb as it sounds). I met co-star Anne Jeffries at a recent Hollywood collector's show and saw a photo of her with Bela and she told me all about it, so I got a DVD and watched it. A cute comedy with a typically fine performance by Bela as a mad doctor on a tropical island (what else?) experimenting with making zombies. A couple of theater promoters show up looking to recruit a real zombie for the opening of a nightclub called "The Zombie Hut."

"You're Next"  -  best horror film I've seen in the last few years

The Devil's Wedding Night (1975) (uncut) hosted by Elvira on Movie Macabre

Chaotic plot elements collide in a blast of classic '70s monster cheeze. Rosalba Neri is magnificent dripping her bloodbath, and the sacrificial virgins aren't bad either. Mesmerizing at times. Highly recommended.

Island Monster (1954) - Karloff's WORST film. Don't ever watch it. Believe me, you'll regret it.

When good ol' Boris himself can't save it, it's because there's nothing left.
