That would be cool as a fan UP! Especially a Silver Screen one...

OK, on my weekly forage through the local Goodwill store, in which I generally come up with NADA, I came across something I'm pretty excited about. I'm a huge Charlton Heston fan......I mean C'mon. Not only the Biblical epics which we grew up on, but the SciFi classics that still reverberate with us today.

So, as I always do, I'm picking through the book section looking for anything about Old Hollywood, and I come across Heston's autobiography "In The Arena". So naturally I'm pretty happy and grab it. Then I look closely at the cover and my heart skips a beat.

Bottom right hand corner......green circle. Can you make it out??

Yup, it says "Autographed Copy".

So, flipping to the title page I find NOT an autopen ripoff, but the real deal. Autopen leaves a smoother and more uniform impression without the various color changes due to changes in pressure, stroke, overlapping ink, or delicate trails as the pen leaves the paper. It's tough to see in the pics, but it's unmistakable in person.

Here's another example that was signed in person.......

Final price?? $2.99. A pretty good day!!

Monolith

Nice find, great price.
A similar thing happened to me at a book sale about 20 years ago: I picked up a first printing of Dr. Seuss's
Bartholomew and the Oobleck (25 cents!), brought it home and opened it up to see it was autographed!

Scatter

"Beware the beast Moonshadow, for she is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, she kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, she will murder her brother to possess her brother's book."  ;)
