Hello friends,

If this thread is against the rules, I apologize and please be sure to delete.

But my local Me-TV channel has been replaced by a CW station (Yuck!) and now I can't have my weekly Svengoolie screenings. Does anyone know of anyway to watch online or anywhere I could acquire weekly shows? You're more than welcome to PM me if that is more comfortable.

I just miss having a weekly horror host in my house. So once again, please delete if needed but I would appreciate hopefully a resolution to this. Thanks fellow Monster Kids.

Too bad Me-TV doesn't stream for free like Pluto, Comet, and some of those other retro channels/websites. We got rid of Pay TV years ago, but briefly we received Me-TV and I saw Sven twice, then the lousy package we had dropped Me-TV. As soon as the contract was up we dropped Pay TV and haven't had it since. I did tape those two Sven eps, though, and watch them once in awhile.

Damn shame with all of this tonnage of pure $H!+ foisted upon the media consuming public it's so difficult to get regular Horror Host programming. I used to watch The Monster Channel when it was around, and I occasionally still try to watch The Vortexx but it usually won't even play due to some conflict with my virus protection I suspect. Neither is/was that great but at least it was something. The main problem is the constant deluge of the same PD movies shown over and over by most Horror Hosts. Michael Legge (The Dungeon Of Dr. Dreck) shows the best variety of movies by far because he actually knows something about them as opposed to most people who try to Horror Host these days. I watch The Dungeon Of Dr. Dreck every Friday night at 9:00 EST on the TUTV website (Temple University Television).

I get METV on my Roku through an app called locast.org
It's a free app and streams your local over-the-air stations.  I accidentally had the wrong zip code for a while in the settings and was getting METV from a different state's local channel.  Maybe you could try that.
I agree though, METV should be available more easily.

What's the deal with Roku? I've heard of it but never looked into it.

Roku is great.  It's a small streaming device with lots of free and pay apps to replace cable.
I've been using it instead of cable for a couple years now.  We had a couple of the small boxes, but you can also have it by getting a TCL Roku TV with it built right in.  I got a 55" 4k TCL Roku TV on sale last year for $299.00 and just love it.

I tried this but it keeps saying it's not available in my area for some reason.  Thank you though.

Sorry about that.  Somehow when we moved last fall (which wasn't far from where we were), my locast switched to a zipcode from the Washington area even though we're closer to Philadelphia.  No idea how that happened.  I let it go cause I was still getting METV.  Then I started having buffering issues and put in my actual zipcode and then got all the Philly stations.  That's why I thought that might work, but I just tried switching cities again and it's not letting me now.  It's a shame METV can't just have its own app for Roku.

Great news!  You can now watch Svengoolie because Frndly TV just added MeTV to their lineup.  Frndly TV is a great streaming service with lots of channels showing old, classic shows including many westerns. By adding MeTV, they are now my top favorite service.  Subscriptions start at $6.99 a month. I have the upgrade option at $9.58 a month and get channels in HD with a DVR feature. Here's their site: www.frndlytv.com
