I just got through watching ROTLD3 - 1993.  It is not all that awful for the time it was made, and so far along in the original saga.  What did you think of it?

I am re-watching it now with the Director's Commentary on.  My Blu-Ray of the Unrated film came in the mail yesterday.  I was really glad to get it.  It allowed me to finally get rid of my space-eating cassette.

Now if only someone would issue ROTLD2 on Blu-Ray with the original music, instead of the replacement music that was used on the DVD.  (Then I could dump that cassette.)

The Undying Monster - 1942 - I found it interesting that the commentary was so long that it required the viewer to watch the movie nearly all the way through twice.  Never figured this little movie would get such thorough attention in a disc release.  It is NOT a great movie, but I love the deliciously atmospheric feel from a movie that was filmed almost entirely on sets.  The black and white photography is lovely.

Friday Night:
Monsters: Dark Continent (2014) *I didn't like this film. For all intents and purposes this is a film about the Iraq War. Here's a summary: Before deployment, the soldiers are into cocaine, booze, dog-fighting, hookers, and playing basketball. They go to war and the first battle they're in everyone freaks out and gets killed. Lastly, every so often a few monsters appear with no context and don't do anything. Just my thoughts about the movie.

Saturday Night:
Monster Squad (1987)
The Fifth Element (1997)

It had some cool stuff going on, but for the most part I thought it was pretty mediocre. I was expecting a lot worse, to be honest. It's definitely a product of its time, but it's not as bad as it could have been like you said.
