'Tis the Hallowed Eve!

When I was a Kid out Trick or Treating in the 60's / 70's the one thing we all had in common was when we knocked / rang on a door we all said aloud even sometimes screaming in chorus "Trick or Treat!" Today's batch of Kid's for the most part amble sheepishly to your door and mutely hold out their treat bags with nary a peep and if you're lucky the only noise that comes out of them is "Thank you".
Anyone else notice this strange phenomenon?

Were those bags what you were handing out to tricksters? What are those saucer-shaped discs such as the green one on the lower right? And what's that red thingy on the lower left?

Yeah, only about half the kids that came to our door said "Trick or treat!".

My wife and I helped our church with a trunk or treat event this past Sunday.

Out of the line of trick-or-treaters I think the word's "trick or treat" or uttered maybe 10 times?

Where we live we do not get trick-or-treaters, we live off of a main road that's just unsafe for them.

But at our church event we had a lot of fun our theme was a 70s Halloween...

Yep, we only get about 50 kids max a year & it's my favorite holiday so we like to give away treat bags or treat boxes with an assortment of chocolate candies, fruity candies, a mini PlayDoh container, or spooky stickers, etc.  The green disc is the top of a mini PlayDoh container and I think the red is Twizzlers.
