Title: Mad Mad Mad Scientist Laboratory
Post by: kidamazo on March 15, 2024, 11:33:49 AM
Hello-- Some years back folks were posting about the rare Mad Mad Mad Scientist Laboratory. The set uses clever names for the  inlcuded chemicals and I was wondering if anyone knows what they actual chemicals were. Thanks!

Welcome to the UMA, kidamazo!  :)

No idea about those chems. Not even sure how you'd find out.

Someone wrote the chemicals out on an instruction book, and I snipped the image off of a website.

Mummy = Sodium Ferrocyanide
Skeleton = Calcium Oxide
Ghoul = Sodium Bisulfate
Moon = Sodium Carbonate
Love Dust = Cobalt Chloride
Rainbow = Ferric Ammonium Sulfate
Monsters Mark = Tantic Acid
Witches Brew = can't read it

Perhaps a chemistry major could recognize the chemical for Witches Brew. I'll ask my daughter to look at it.

Yep. She laughed and said it is Phenolphthalein

Ah, this is amazing! I wonder how accurate it is?

I had the original pic on the computer and zoomed as much as possible.

I remember that there was a guide to the replacement chemicals from Homelab for the Mad Mad Mad Scientist Laboratory somewhere in the Instruction Booklet or other literature provided. The two liquid chemicals, Rainbow Potion and Witche's Brew, were subject to the most rapid usage and I distinctly recall being greatly disappointed that properly labelled refills were unavailable.
