...People that make videos like this are striving for more "personality,"...   ... In 30 years, this style will seem overly fake and forced ...   ... Don't hate the messenger. ....

Amazing what passes for "personality" today.

It seems fake and forced now.

Well, I don't HATE the guy.  Just can't stand watching him "striving".

There does seem to be a major disconnect between toy producer and consumers.  They don't want to be offended by reading negative feedback that might redirect their production efforts toward market desires.  And potential customers are reluctant to watch their product announcements all the way through.

For the record, I watched the video all the way through in my vain search for useful information.

How about wondering why others are reluctant to do the same?

I must admit that I've always enjoyed Brian's videos and look forward to the next one. I can understand that these might not work for everyone but for me I just like to see the product in someone's hand to get a better sense of what's coming up for sale in the future and it's always nice to see something that I wasn't expecting.

The end of the day these videos are meant to just inform people of the latest product and have a little fun along the way. I've been a supporter of Super7 from day 1 and even though not every item is for me they always seem to find something of interest that makes me part with my money so that I can have it on display.

Got my Super 7 Frankenstein Keshi today.  I snapped the Green guy to show some detail - not bad for a 2" figure.

I got tired of waiting on EE for my Keshi V1 flat, so I canceled and ordered from Super 7. MIM has them $11 cheaper (depending on any difference in shipping), but they say another week till they get them, if nothing changes.

I didn't watch any part of it until it was brought up for discussion here.  And then I only watched to hear the Dracula voice.  Do you see how this strategy works?  Even people who wouldn't normally watch something like this are clicking on it to watch, thus increasing video views, and expanding reach to different audiences through algorithms, etc.  For these companies, it's a game of expanding audience reach, and it's obviously working.

That really sucks about EE.  I was thinking of getting the Mystery Minis from them, but now?  Not so sure.

Nice that you picked up a green one and the detail is pretty impressive for the size and material these are made of. I may pick a few things up from Super7 soon (even though the added charges getting things to the UK hurts bit), and I'm thinking of throwing a few of these figures into my cart as they are growing on me.

I got all 4 from eBay for $30.00.  They are being offered in sets by character and color for that price, including shipping.

I just photographed the Green one to show the detail.  I could just as easily have photographed the Orange one.  The Purple and White are a little harder to photograph - and I am notoriously lazy.
