Fun, informative video, jupiter! Glad you decided to make new videos. Not a fan of the clown paint, but that's a terrific sculpt. Did prefer the original paint scheme, but the hat throws it off. On the thumbnail for the video, I thought it was a unicorn horn.

As you noted, the book by Lee Lambert is a must-have. Great photos throughout.

This would certainly meet member Barlow's standard of scary: blank soulless eyes, pointy ears
and teeth, distressed musculature ... it's independent studios like TVCS who'll give the majors
a run for their money.  Thanks for the review and congratulations on scoring "The Traveler",

'Got a scary new score to report this season:
a DPS Mongo mask, foam-filled and in decent shape.
Out of production since the 1970s, I later learned
it was formerly held by Dr Shocker's House of Horrors.
'No wonder it looked somewhat familiar >



Weeks earlier, a DPS Wizard also joined my collection.
Sculpted around the same time as Mongo, it didn't
transform into the Wizard until years later (due to
black magic, no doubt). I've always loved the way
Post Studios interpreted these characters.

I'd been a fan of Ayres Studios since the late 1970s. In-between movie FX jobs,
he makes custom masks for collectors. His scariest character has to be DORIAN,
a copy of which I ordered back in May 1980. More expensive than other masks
of its time, he granted me 20% off as a repeat customer >



Surely the most gruesome interpretation of Oscar Wilde's decadent dandy,
it reminds me more of that mutant monster from 1979's "Prophecy".

No catalog or ad images of it exist in my archive and I only ever took a couple
of photographs while it was mine, not very good ones at that >



The only other place I'd ever seen a copy was at the Ackermansion. It appears
sometimes in group shots of Uncle Forry's artifacts >



New York's Frankenshrine acquired my copy in February 1985 and that was the last I saw of it, until ...
surprise surprise ... DORIAN returned last month to haunt me!



At some point in time, that bulging eye was added >



Its new owner, the Crimson Ghost Mask Room, had sent it my way for preservation treatment.
I took advantage of its visit to snap some decent portraits for us >

Nice! So, you ended up with that Mongo! I was tempted to buy it, but I'd just gotten one, after 10+ years of waiting, a few months ago. The mask gods are fickle: nothing for years then 3 Mongos come up for sale within months of each other.
