Probably unrelated, but there's a Cleopatra's (beauty) Salon in Fort Worth (home of Pescor Plastics).

I'm fairly certain that this is a "throw" from the one of the floats in the Krewe of Cleopatra's Mardi Gras parade that year. While Beads and doubloons are the most popular such items, other imprinted items like cups and mini-frisbees are also commonly distributed. While the manufacturer is in Fort Worth,  that Krewe marches in Houma, LA.

Cleopatra's Monster Mash - 16 oz. - Glow-In-the-Dark Cup - 4½" - Pescor Plastics - Forth Worth Texas.

Sweet little cup with a Graveyard, Egyptian paraphernalia, Spider Web, Frankenstein, Witch flying across a Full Moon, Tombstone, Bats, Dracula, Mummy, Ghost, Coffin, Werewolf, Spooky Tree and three Skulls scattered around.

So, of couse, I love it.  My only question is - what was the "Cleopatra's" that issued this cup and do they still exist?

Sounds plausible, to me!  :)

Cool - Thanks!

October always makes me nostalgic for the time when fast food chains would try to outdo each other with the enticing Halloween toys for their shorter patrons - and a lot of older guys who really should have outgrown ghost, witches and monsters a long time ago

Here is a paper cup put out by Pepsi in conjunction with Universal Studios.  A true Free Monster item, these lowly little throw-aways must have tickled more than one monsterkid in their day.

Here's all three panels:

Not everyone's favorite Universal Monster Styleguide graphics - but a free monster is a free monster.

I hate it when they try to make the monsters "cool", or trendy!  :P  Doesn't mean I won't buy them, though.  ;D

OK.

But these paper cups came at no extra price.

Perennial cinematic butler Arthur Treacher served as announcer/sidekick to Merv Griffin after his acting days were over.  The daytime talk show spurred such a resurgence in his popularity that he opened his own string of franchised fish and chips restaurants - probably trying to piggy-back on the recent rise of the H. Salt chain.

Here is an obscure pair of monster Funcups featuring "Boris Badfella" and "Wally Werewolf" from 1972.  (Treacher died in 1975.)

Had to reach all the way back to 1972 and as far down as the short-lived Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips to find a sad pair of generic monster cups like these to add to this thread.

Isn't anyone giving away monster premiums of any sort anymore?  Anyone at all?

Problem?

Trying to post pictures from Flickr.  Failing.

Seems they have updated how that works.  I asked for help and they told me how to post pictures ON Flickr.  Didn't need that help, it still works the same.

Is Flickr the one that has "at" signs in their addresses?

PM me one of the file addresses.

It ends in .ipg - but I can't figure out how to copy it - even when I can find it.
