No posts in 10 days...   You OK?

Hope the plague didn't get you.

Saving Private Ryan, 1998 - In the confusion and horror of World War II, a squad is sent into extreme jeopardy in an effort to prevent one of war's more unjust outcomes - minor in the grand scheme of things, but unbearably tragic, none the less.

Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore, Edward Burns, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg, Vin Dieselm Matt Damon and Harrison Young.

Seemed like a suitable movie for the holiday.  This one has grown on me over several viewings.

No matter how many times I hear it, I can not fail to be moved by Harve Presnell as General George C. Marshall reading the Letter To Mrs. Bixby:

I actually find this kind of stuff interesting.  I have a working knowledge of all sorts of specialized kills and methods that I will never use.  Still, I do find them interesting.

Perfect Woman, The, 1949 - Spendthrift gentleman's rich aunt refuses to advance him any additional money before his next allotment.  He gets a temporary  job field-testing an attractively constructed robot - he thinks.

Patricia Roc, Stanley Holloway, Nigel Patrick, Miles Malleson and Pamela Devis.

Silly British comedy that never gets to the level of light sci-fi or sexy farce.  In fact, it plays like an extended episode of the old Gale Storm My Little Margie show.

Still glad I finally got to see this little rarity.

I wonder what Ealing Studios could have done with the same concept?
