Nice thread thanks Dan! I get to talk about myself now!
(....two hours later...)
...blah blah  blah, and so - I am Paul Anthony Blaise Koloc, son of Bohumil. (Koloc in Czech means "wheelright") I may have an unusual name but there is one other Paul Koloc, a cousin with an interesting website,  eyeball this bad boy:
http://www.neoteric-research.org/
My other cousin is named Bonnie Koloc would anyone know of her?
Arnie-hoo get to the point! I was called Packy as a youngster as a result of my given initials (later I chose Blaise as my Confirmation name)  My passion for monsters and old toys connects me to and validates my happy childhood so I chose to be called Packy as an adult monster kid. The rest is my birthday. I am currently thinking of changing my name to unpacky.  My avatar is an action figure based on a comic called The Unknown Soldier. Who's he? We don't know.
Excuse my rambling, yesterday I had one extraction and one root canal (two different teeth)  done in one sitting and I'm on meds - feel free to blast away for going off topic I won't even feel it!

Great idea - I like getting to know the people in the group.

My name is Andy Williams.  I live in the midwest, on the outskirts of St. Louis.  I am a special education teacher, and I also dabble in singing/songwriting.  Growing up, I had two great loves - rock music and monsters.  I have a few more great loves these days, including my two children Evan and Mia and my wonderful wife Amy.
I started collecting toys in the late 80's when the local Toy Chest stores were closing down and they were blowing out some great stuff like Manglors, Pee Wee's Playhouse, Dragonriders and other such stuff.  An artist that I came across wanted to buy some Pee Wee Herman stuff from me, and I've been buying and selling toys ever since.  In the early 90's I re-discovered my love for AHI monsters thanks in part to my friend Ray Castile.  I continued collecting all sorts of toys from the 60's and 70's, finally focusing on Universal Monsters and related stuff.
Right now, in addition to my teaching career, I am in graduate school working toward a masters degree in school administration.

I think it's fun to learn a little about each other!

I'm Chuck Jeffers age 43 and live in upper East Tennessee with my wife and two daughters.
I am the GIS Director for my home county which is a fancy smancy way of saying I make computerized maps.

I love all things monster, Star Trek, mego, Planet of the Apes, ect, ect.  You get the idea!

I used the Phantasm avatar because the movie really kick started the modern horror phase of my life.  I always have loved the classic films but until Phantasm came along, I didn't care much for new releases.  I still remember a friend gave me the issue of Fangoria magazine that featured Phantasm and as they say the rest is history.

I, like Jim, also love to build and paint models.  Wonderfest here I come!

Hi everybody, my name is Robert Acquarulo and I reside in New Haven Connecticut, about 10 minutes from the Yale University campus. Like many here, I grew up playing with these toys and now as an adult, they provide me with much enjoyment that I so appreciate.
My earliest memories were of the Mego Worlds Greatest Superheroes, Planet of the Apes and Mad Monsters. Around 8 years of age I began to collect comic books which lasted right up until I began high school. For the next  8-10 years I pretty much did what any normal red blooded kid would do which was to chase girls and party. I never sold any of my collectibles but my interest all but stopped. Fast forward to 1992 when my collecting started back up again and hasn't stopped since.
I own an electronic printed circuit board manufacturing company with a partner and work for Century21 on the side as a real estate broker. Travel, motorcycles and working out are some of my favorite things to do but toy collecting trumps them all. Needless to say, family, friends and my Italian heritage come before everything. Ever since I read my first Richie Rich comic I've been involved one way or another with toy collecting and comic books, maybe not actively but it was never far from my heart even during high school and college. I can never begin to repay all of the wonderful moments this hobby has provided me and I hope what I wrote will help you guys and gals get to know me a bit better.

A word about disclosing personal information at this board.  For the few of you who exclaimed to be concerned about disclosing too much personal info at web sites, we all of course respect your privacy.  But permit me to make this statement about THIS board and the UMA.

As you'll soon discover (and as most of us long timers already know) there is NO other group or board that is tighter, more loving and family oriented than this one.  I have embraced (and have been embraced) by more members electronically and personally at the various conventions first as a friend and by some as a brother.  We ALL have each other's backs here at this group and anything shared at any level will always be protected and respected.   Woe to any member who deviates from this mantra.

So relax, be yourself and have fun.  I sure do!

Best,
Creepy Jeff Pripusich

I guess this pic best belongs here.

Here is Castle Famous in the dead of winter. Photographed on Xmas day.

Trespassers and Trekkies shot on site!

Talk about the winter blahs. Just look .. every thing's white and grey!

If you look closely you can see my truck in the driveway with a snow blade on it. Will plow snow for monster toys!

Jeff, I agree with you 110% about this group.

When we were using the Yahoo Group to post, the only way anyone could read our messages was to join the group.  They were private and for the group only.  This new forum is public, and it will be indexed by the search engines as time goes by.  In the future, because it hasn't happened yet, someone doing a search for "tomland mummy" will find the UMA.  So will someone doing a search for "Jeff Pripusich".  I don't mind that a bit, and many others don't either, but I respect anyone who doesn't want that association to be discoverable by employers (present and future), friends, enemies, relatives, and your average everyday insane internet stalker types.

Boss Man-

Well, that 'splains why me Mum's house in Ohio had a beautiful White (day after) Christmas!

Everybody else (esp. Newbies)-

What Jeff said.

I've only been a member of a select few on-line groups; the few I'm still with, it's because of a great Group. And this one is indeed, in all ways, a Real Gem.

As is the Mod-ing:

There have been a few people who (as is much too common on-line) have tried to crown themselves "Official In-House Troll." They were fairly warned to cut the crap, and politely shown the door if they refused to grow up.

Happiest of New Years all,
-Craig W.
