actually as a kid...I was more into Superman and Wolfman...
but, now as an adult...I wouldnt mind a Gorilla costume,although some crazed neighboring redneck would shoot me,thinking I was Bigfoot  ;D

I absolutely DID.  Both Matchboxes and Hot Wheels.  Hot Wheels LOOKED cooler and they had that awesome 'tire' carrying case... but in the orange track-------Matchboxes were faster.  We had all of the kids enter all of their cars in a Super Tournament that started from my parents' front stoop into the street... probably 30 feet of track for 2 lanes.  Single elimination with an automatic starter and a finish line flag to determine the winner.  We had over 100 cars entered.

I had a fuschia El Camino that could not be beat.

TPBM used to make their own spook house that charged admission.
