Looking for good podcasts
« on: March 01, 2008, 04:14:43 PM »
I may be the only person who uses his I-Pod to listen to podcasts rather then music.  Anyone know of good monster podcasts?  I currently subscribe to Horror Stories and The Horror! both are old time radio drama podcasts (lots of fun), including tons of Vincent Price, Karloff, Lugosi, and others.  I also really enjoy Beyond Reality Radio with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of TAPS/Ghost Hunters fame.

Looking for any Monster Kid sites, Sci-Fi, or anything related.  I checked out some of the Rondo award nominees but couldn't find much to subscribe to.

I too listen to podcasts on my iPod. I love podcasts and had briefly explored the possibility of a UMA podcast. That idea is still being developed by myself and the Drunken Severed Head.

Here is a real short podcast promo that I did last year. Putting together a good podcast takes a lot of time and planning. Time is something that I don't ever seem to have enough of. I do plan on someday getting the podcast up and running.

Guys-

If you're a fan of Modern Audio Drama as well as Old Time Radio, Fred Greenhalgh runs a great site over at Radio Drama Revival:

http://www.radiodramarevival.com/

If you search "Quicksilver," I think a few of our shows are still archived there.

Best,
-Craig W.

Are the subscription based pod casts free or fee?

I'd love to hear the Ghost Hunters talk.

They're free.  You can get Beyond Reality archives at www.Planetparanormal.com or from the TAPS MySpace page.  The show airs Saturday nights and then is set-up for a podcast, so you hear them the week after the show aired.  It's a lot of fun, they are quite entertaining.

A UMA podcast would be terrific by the way!
