i think i will have to check out the next danzig gig if he is touring with doyle. i loathe jerry only so much... what i would give for a proper misfits reunion show!

I did see Danzig on his last tour. The problem is that Doyle didn't come with him on every show. It was kind of sporadic, and if Doyle wasn't there, he didn't play any Misfits material. It was pretty much impossible to find out if Doyle was going to be there when buying a ticket except for at a couple of high profile, bigger city type of gigs.

I had a ticket for a Danzig show in Sauget, Il last May but a family trip to Mexico trumped dad's interest in seeing Danzig!  No biggie really, as I have seen him several times over but I really did want to hear some of the newer material live.  He just got done with the Danzig Legacy tour, a set of Misfits tunes w/Doyle; a set of Samhain tunes w/London May and Steve Zing and wrapped up with a Danzig set.  He had previously done a Samhain "reunion" tour when the boxset was released and over the past few years (starting in 2005) has been doing a shortened Misfits set w/Doyle.  It is cool that he is finally accepting his place in music, embracing both the Misfits & Samhain and the fans wish to hear him perform it.

If I had the opportunity to attend one of these shows (None of which came near the St. Louis area.) I certainly would but I've not going to bend over backwards and drop everything to fly halfway across the country to see it (as some fans had done); I really didn't like that the Samhain stuff was being called a reunion without Eerie's involvement, it may have been a reformation of Samhain but it was not a reunion!!

i think i will have to check out the next danzig gig if he is touring with doyle. i loathe jerry only so much... what i would give for a proper misfits reunion show!

Why would you want a proper reunion if you loathe Jerry?!  A proper reunion would most certainly include Jerry, no?

Sharing a few pics (from my Misfits stuff), there is entirely to much reading in this thread!!!

A reproduction film cell given to me by the artist, Doug Evil, which I then had signed by Doyle.  I'm pretty sure you can see this short animation on Youtube (or other sites on the net) for a never completed Misfits cartoon/project!

Collection of Plan 9 cassettes and Danzig's 2nd album~

Lacunae #7, center spread signed by The Misfits (Doyle's sig. is barely visible above his head), they were selling these mags at their early Resurrection shows~

"Nother great classic poster~

Great ad for Samhain Final Descent also featuring the rest of the Plan 9 Misfits/Samhain discography~

Say what you will about the reformed Misfits and Jerry, he did release some killer vinyl!!  I have these two as well as American Psycho on "heavy" vinyl~

Dig Up Her Bones 7" Front/back (signed)/clear blue vinyl

Monster Mash 7" Front/back/clear green vinyl

Anyone else find it ironic that Dr. Chud posted this message and picture on FB?

"Sharon Osbourne fired Bill Ward.....this is totally unacceptable, I was looking forward to the reunited lineup, now i can give two $hits! Man i hate that *#%^ more than ever now!"

I'm not agreeing with Sharon's decision but this is the guy that was the drummer for the Glenn Danzig-less Misfits!!!??!

When you play music for a living, sometimes you've just got to take the gig.  Hell, Dr. Chud might hate the Danzig-less Misfits, but either way, the checks still clear.

I'm a big fan of the Danzig era. It took awhile but i really dig the Graves era as well. Not sure about the Only era. i heard a few songs from The Devil's Rain on Youtube. They are okay. I have heard mixed feelings on him, but I have heard the same about Glenn as well. The question I have is Jerry actually a founding member? I know he was in it way back when, but I saw an interview where Glenn says Jerry was not the original bassist. So is this era of the Misfits just Jerry hanging on to his last thread of youth an fame? i don't know. i wasn't there and i know there are always two sides to every story. Maybe Glenn is that ass. Then again since Glenn, Doyle, Michale and Chud are gone it could say a lot to who is at fault.... I don't know.....Anyway my favorite album would have to be the one that got me into them..... Legacy of Brutality!! 8j68j68ju

Technically Jerry is not the first bassist, Diane Dipiazza was the bassist from 2/77-3/77; At that point all The Misfits had done was work on songs and practice in a garage, any and all Misfits albums/shows included both Glenn and Jerry from 1977-1983.  The whole Diane deal was just something Glenn threw out there once he had to relinquish the band name to Jerry her name, nor Jimmy Battles, were ever mentioned before 1996!
