Didn't the cinemodels Forgotten Prisoner still have the Aurora copywright info on the bottom?  Wish I knew where my kit was (buried in the garage).

Geez this thread really took off!

Dan, that's some interesting food for thought - never looked at it that way. However I usually regard "original" to mean "original issue" or "original year(s) of issue", and not just something that came from the original mold.

Otherwise, it's gonna get reaaaalllly confusing referring to things using Dante's "original mold" criteria - for example, every Bill Lemon-sculpted Mummy kit ever issued - from the Aurora longbox to the Frightening Lightning to the Aurora Glow squareboxes to the Monogram to the Luminator to the Polar Lights - would all be referred to as "original" as they all came from the "original" Aurora mold first used in 1963... yikes!

I'll post some comparison pics of my sharpeners later, but for now here's a UMA gallery-ready pic I found of an orange 1965 blister carded A.B.G. Wolf Man sharpener - enjoy!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to take and post such great informative pics! As I said before, this place is great!

Took a look at my ABG Monster Sharpeners, I have two gray Frankensteins, one with a yellow sharpener insert, one with a white.  On Terry's gray Frankenstein, the insert is blue, so if the Frankies are indeed vintage, ABG definitely mixed and matched insert colors. Also I didn't notice any difference in the plastic when compared to say, a gray ABG Wolf Man, etc.

I also have an orange Frankenstein with a yellow sharpener insert. Again, no noticeable difference when compared to another character molded in the same color.

Amazing the minutia one gets caught up in with monster toys, eh?  LOL I'm sure a lot of people would think we're all nuts!!  :P

Getting back to what actually started this great thread - despite their apparent abundance in other colors, outside of the blister carded orange example ToyRanch generously unearthed and shared, I still only have seen green Mummy sharpeners in collection pics both here and around the Internet.

So if anyone has an ABG Mummy sharpener for sale in any other color than green , please drop me a PM ~ thanx so much!  :)

I really like these guys, Shame the Frank and Skull molds aren't still around. They are  soo cool looking on the cards.

I usually call something that came from an original mold, but not from the original production period a RE-Pop(Repopped from the original mold). and for my collecting purposes I'm happy with either an Original or a Repop.  Plastic isn't worth any more to me because it's old.  I'm perfectly happy with my Polar Lights kits.

WOW Wolfman sharpeners for a buck!!!  Man o man.  I hate to ask, but if anyone has a Mummy or Wolfman they can spare cheap please drop me a line.  I don't have any sharpeners and I REFUSE to pay the $10 min for one on Ebay.

Here is an interesting pic I found on my PC.   A White Frankie??

If anybody else has a Wolfman or an Etta, let me know (after Eye of Kharis gets his).  I'd love to get 1 or 2 more of each for my display.

If it will help motivate anyone, I'll send the seller a repro I made of the AGB Sharpener display (see here).

I got the Wolfman, Mummy and Etta sharper 2 years ago from Fritz Frising at Chiller  as a gift and so still missing the Frankenstein...
Maybe has anyone here one for trade ?! I can do neat build ups of model kits or paint a monster on request.....

I think I might buy a few Wolfman, Skull and Mummy sharpeners.  It is possible to find them on ebay for $2-$5 each, but then you have to pay $7-$10 for shipping.  If anyone here is standing knee-deep in these things and wants to sell a few, let me know.

All four heads come in Green, Grey, Orange and Purple.

I have seen only 1 head in White.  That is the sharpener pictured in this thread.  I was the buyer of that group of four sharpeners pictured.  I got all four for $100.00.  (It seemed like a lot at the time.)

The sharpener inserts come in Blue, Green, Red, White, Yellow and probably a few more colors.  They are used randomly in the various heads.

I am looking for a Grey Etta the Ghoul, an Orange Mummy, and an Orange Frankenstein.

I have an Orange Wolf Man, a Green Wolf Man, a Green Mummy, and a Green Etta the Ghoul to trade.

Just to add-I have a white Wolf Man which I've had since the '60's. It used to belong to my older brother. The only problem with it is it's been painted, but it looks like the paint would easily flake off.  Some  of it already has, that's how I can see it's white underneath. Are the white ones rare or something?

I know of 3 White Frankenstein, 1 White Mummy (streaked with a little grey) and now you've told me of 1 White Wolf Man.

There seems to be a truck load of Green Mummy's.  One ebay seller was selling them in large groups. Other figures do exist in all of the other colors, but the numbers appear to be very uneven - Some hardly ever appear.

The Wolf Man was the easiest for me to find in all four of the common colors - I've seen all four listed on eBay a number of times.
