My feelings about the Celtics were soiled with the KG trade. I hate seeing the big ticket in a green uniform. But truth be told, KG was not doing the Timberwolves any favors so he might as well been set free to a team where he can win. And win they have over at the Celtics. All the ills of the Wolves falls back on Kevin McHale and Glenn Taylor. They foolishly thought that KG could carry the whole team on his shoulders. This not only wore down KG physically and emotionally, it dragged the entire team down too. Too cheap to spend the money to surround Kevin with legitimate talent. Instead they kept bringing in bench players to act as starters. A disaster to say the least. Things turned around in the right direction for a short while in 2005 with Sam Cassell and Latrell Spreewell on board, but it didn't last long. Egos and contracts brought it all down. We've been in rebuilding mode ever since. :(

In 1950, the Fort Wayne Pistons 'beat' the Minneapolis Lakers by the remarkable score of -- wait for it -- 19 to 18!
I imagine that might have been the game that began the notion of a shot clock.

I've got a lot of respect for the Lakers, though I won't begin to tell you how I feel about Kobe personally ;)... Nah... I don't really have any venom for your boys.
Interesting stat for a Laker or Celtic fan-----and I heard this one 6 or 7 years ago, so I can only assume it still stands...... Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are the only 2 players with 800 games played who won 60+ games for every 82 (a full season) they played. Remarkable feat, IMO.
