If awards for such things were given out, the Shock Monster would win the "Most Desired Non Universal Horror Mask" award!

Was it because Warren choose to  market shirts with it (was that before the Don Post  Universal Horror collection?) I should know that I suppose.

Did anyone ever create a backstory for Shock monster?

Seeing all this cool Shock Monster stuff inspired me to cartoon up a couple of my own renditions!  Sadly, I never owned a SM mask, but his image has stayed with me for many years.

Somebody should make this movie:

Hope you guys & gals like 'em!

Those are cute cartoons.  I'm not sure what kind of backstory Shock Monster would have.  He's sort of a zombie, I guess.

Love the artwork Unknown Primate.

Shock Monster meets Vampire Girl sounds like my kind of movie on the late night!

Thanks for the compliments, you crazy psychos!

Inkfink, your work is awesome!  Wish mine was more like yours.  Your colors are so bright & brilliant and the whole look is just great!

Blacklagoon, yeah, I dabble in paper stock graffiti!  I'm obviously an amateur, but it's fun to create my own monster scenarios.  I draw pretty fast (I guess?).  Did both of these in about 90 minutes, using Sharpies on dollar store computer paper.

As far as a backstory on Ol' Shock, my version is, he was an inmate at the Topstone Institute For The Criminally Insane (in the 50's), where he recieved one too many shock treatments.  The doctors & their treatments eventually zombie-fied him and transformed him into a murderous, cannibalistic monster.

Now I'm tempted to draw up a comic book of "Shock Monster Meets Vampire Girl".

I am completely 100% nuts over a story line to go with your awesome art work...Inkfink your stuff is incredible as well!!!

Unknown...you totally have the talent and creative story line to do something with that! In fact.....see General Discussion!!

I'm inspired by your artwork Inkfink! A think a Shock Monster back story should involve hot rods & surf guitar music (& an assortment of other Toppstone creatures)!

Ray, your Topstone collection is growing to archival levels - and you are dead on on your facts. It's not easy to sort through the numerous resculpts and re-releases of these masks. I admire your persistence and your singularly unique collection. Very cool man
