I'll just list the ones that stick out as the best performances.

DANZIG/SAMHAIN
KISS
Le Shok
Lack of Interest
the Adicts
Turbonegro
Van Stone
Billy Idol
Man is the Bastard
Weezer
the Hellacopters
Radio Birdman
Vaggie Skabs
the Locust
and Rob Zombie, who I'm actually about to go see again the day after Hallowe'en in Anahiam. Anyone else going to his show at the Grove on November 1st?

Yikes. Never heard that story...

To add to the bizarre tale she was only sentenced to three years and I believe she only served over a year!! Leslie West was outraged!!

Just plain sad...

Wow, that's bizarre. People have spent more time in jail for holding certain herbal remedies.  :(
At any rate, the W,B & L show at Georgia Tech was good. They even did a few Cream tunes. Edgar Winter opened for them. Oh, I just remembered: This was in the indoor stadium at Tech and most of the audience, including me, sat on the floor of the basketball court. Prior to the concert a number of frisbees began sailing through the air. At one point I looked up just in time to see a disc (which had apparently been launched from afar) about a foot from my head. A microsecond was not enough time to react, so it beaned me. A pretty hefty hit from a pluto platter!

Oh, I forgot the first Atlanta Pop Festival. It predated Woodstock by a couple of months (I remember someone on the public address system announcing the Woodstock event and listing some of the performers). The Atlanta festival was held at the Atlanta Raceway. The list was extensive, including Led Zeppelin. For most of the event I was pretty far from the stage. On one of the evenings I decided to see how close I could get. So I walked along the edge of the fenced-in area and ended up right next to the stage. A blues band (I think Pacific Gas and Electric) was playing.
Then Janis Joplin took the stage; ironic 'cause I wasn't really a fan. She was dressed in purple satin with lots of necklaces. After every tune she walked over to the side of the stage (near where I had planted myself) and took a big swig off a bottle of JD.
Another close encounter was Siouxsie and the Banshees at the 688 Club. It was a small venue, and I was literally about five feet from the stage (and the "stage" was only about two feet tall). They were in their prime, playing the Juju album in late October. Siouxsie looked fantastic, dressed in black and orange. Wow.

I would have loved to see some of those acts back then, dlhenderson.  We had the International Pop Festival here, which was along those lines too, but I was too young to go.

This was the lineup:

B.B.King, Canned Heat, Chicago, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends,
Freddie King, Grand Funk Railroad, Herbie Mann,
Incredible String Band, James Cotton Blues Band, Janis Joplin,
Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin, Nazz, The Quarry, Rotary Connection,
Sam & Dave, Santana, Shiva's Headband, Sly & the Family Stone,
Space Opera, Spirit, Sweetwater, Ten Years After and Tony Joe White

Some of those festivals in the late 60's or early 70's were amazing.  The guitar player in my old band was quite a bit older than me and he went to it.  He also saw Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band in the 60's, and tons of other stuff.  I would have eaten all that up.  Did catch that Siouxsie Juju tour in Dallas at the Hot Klub.  I took a few pics but they didn't come out well.  I should scan them anyway.

Oh, yeah, scan those Sioux pix!
They were very touchy about photographs. I remember at another Banshees concert (in a larger venue), Siouxsie actually took a camera away from someone close to the stage, saying: "Let me see that", and away it went!
Your list is damn impressive, Toy Ranch.
What was (or is) the name (or names) of your band (or bands)?

Siouxsie pics

Here's the slideshow

I did some photoshopping and got them a little better than the prints.  The prints are all bright orange, because of the lights they used.

I played in a band called Stick Men With Ray Guns.  We never toured on account of having insane people in the band.  It took 3 vehicles to get us to Austin, lol.  That went for 8 years.  Also played in a band called Graceland, which is actually reforming and we should be playing again soon.

Thanks for posting those great Siouxsie pics, TR.
Here's a handy method of image correction (if you don't already know it): In Photoshop, try shift/command/L (on a Mac) or "auto adjust" from the pull down menu under image (not sure what the PC shortcut is).
It often does wonders. I tried it on a couple of your shots, masking the spotlights to nudge the contrast. It got rid of the pink and brought out the blue and black. Worked pretty well. Cheers!

As a mom of a son who went thru the Wiggles phase..those seats are mighty impressive! And they put on a great show! But just think..this will open the door to better concerts for the kids as they get older. My kid went to his first rock concert at 6 years old. he is now (at 9) a veteran of the all-day music festivals. He makes me soo proud!

Hahaha!!  Yeah, well I think we saw Greg's last performance on stage or at least his last tour.  He had/ has some type of illness that is vertigo-like from what I understand and he was really struggling on stage.  He performed valiantly, though-----I can't believe I'm saying this about 'Greg Wiggle'.... but I was more than impressed with his heart and professionalism.  He has since given his spot on stage away to a replacement.  My 5 year old is now past the Wiggles for the most part, but my 15 month old is just getting warmed up!  Both of my girls like stage performances with music, so maybe they'll be like your son in that regard.

     Thanks for the response, Marsha!
