Interesting, but personally I like the work of some of our resident artists better.  I don't think I could be convinced to part with $10G for that first one.  Mike's (Illoman) work is looking like one heck of a bargain.

As owner of a bunch of Mike's work, I would have him working full time for me and just give him the $10,000! I would surround myself in my house with his monster portraits!!

The art is great but Why all the religions overtones ? WEIRD to say the least .
I'm no prude but I find them slightly offensive. :-\

I'm with you Tom - I love creative uses of the monsters but regardless of your faith, depicting the Bride of Frankenstein as Mary just isn't right.

These paintings have a certain "dogs playing poker" kitsch about them that I don't care for, but I don't have any other strong objections.  James Whale himself symbolically depicted the monster as Christ in Bride of Frankenstein, most overtly when the villagers tie him to the pole.  It's brilliant when Whale does it.  Not so brilliant in these on-the-nosey paintings, but still not offensive to me.  I give the artist credit for at least trying to use the monsters in an original, interpretive way, even if it is not as original as the artist might think.  If the artist were a UMA member showing his work, I suspect we would see a string of posts saying GREAT JOB with perhaps a couple muted religious objections almost apologetically thrown in.

Thanks, Gary and Keith! I appreciate the kind comments!
