While MGM didnt do as many horror/fantasy films as Universal or RKO, what they did come out with were pretty memorable..
The difference between martyrdom & suicide is press coverage...

Wasnt George Pal's The Time Machine also MGM? if so, then that would be my #1 choice instead...

It was, but I only went with the films from the '30-50's in this one. The Time Machine will certainly turn up later..

Mad Love would be a close second for me as well. It's my favorite Peter Lorre movie, inspired in part by Famous Monster #63 & that awsome Gogos portrait.
